So it sounds like youd need a new fuel pump and filter while you're at it.

You can test both the check valve and spider injector by removing the upper manifold , reattaching the metal lines then feeding 50 to 60 psi air into them with a gauge attached. If it loses pressure on the spider side the regulator is bad , if you hear air rushing into in the gas tank side the check valve is bad . The new style injector is improved but the push in tabs are one time use and cost as much as $5 each , in short don't try and remove it once it's installed .
I haven't tried the starting fluid on the intake.I replaced the spider a couple years ago i have spark and fuel holds 60 psi .was wondering is there a way to test the spider cause that thing is $$ to buy again lol like to test is there actual fuel spraying out of each nozzle?

I have a 98 blazer with 103,000 miles, I purchased at 102,750 miles and the car has started stalling around 55-70 mph on the way home from work. I have to pull over and restart the car and then it stalls again 1.5 miles later all the way home. Could a bad spider cause this? I’ve changed alternator, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, new map sensor. I removed the throttle body, Idle air control and gave it a deep clean, I also cleaned out the MAF sensor. I have not test drove it yet after cleaning the throttle body, IAC and MAF sensor
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 it was deteriorated vacuum lines, they disintegrated in my hands when I grabbed them and a failing fuel pump. 1300$ later and I found the problems 🤦🏽♂️ car is running smooth now

Hey my truck started then shut off. Checked for furl it has fuel all the way to the top of intake into spider injectors. Is there anyway to check if it's the injectors or the sensor that tells it to send fuel. It runs when sprayed with starting fluid
Well just cause it has fuel doeant mean its the right pressure so you should make sure the pressure is what it should be at the testing port with a fuel gauge
Checked pressure. It's got good pressure it drove fine went to store started it up to leave then it just died and wouldn't crank back have great pressure all the way up into top of intake/ spider injectors.
Most of the time the biggest issue with bad injectors is hard starts. You said yours started then shut off.. So best is to find out if yiur missing spark or fuel. Then go from there..
It would most likely cause codes to set off, but they would be errors as a result of a faulty injector harness. Maybe a particular cylinder or two that are misfiring. Maybe random multiple cylinder misfire. For a faulty pressure regulator, you can hookup a gauge to the access port against the firewall, and you can see the pressure decrease rate. A faulty injector harness usually also results in surging rpm, stumble on acceleration, maybe a gas smell from exhaust or high numbers of long and short term fuel trims. I ended up getting an O2 sensor code bc my faulty injector harness ran for so long with a rich fuel ratio it burned out the sensor early.

Hi, I have a question 'cause I may be did not catch the reason for spider replacement. Was the spider the reason of a hard start? Did the engine work with old spider if you fired it up with the cold start spray? many thanks in advance
It had a jard start which is the 1st sign... Also ran rough.
A bad spider can do a lot...
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 it was deteriorated vacuum lines, they disintegrated in my hands when I grabbed them and a failing fuel pump. 1300$ later and I found the problems 🤦🏽♂️ car is running smooth now
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 I replaced the alternator, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, map sensor, removed and completely cleaned the throttle body, idle air control valve, fuel filter, vacuum lines, and fuel pump. I broke the vent valve on the fuel tank when I was replacing the fuel pump, and it started throwing a p0446 code for a gas leak. Had to go to pick and pull to pull a gas tank because they don’t sell the original plastic tanks anymore and my new fuel pump was specifically for the plastic tanks not the metal tanks. What a headache it has been.

Will a bad spider cause engine to stall and only start with gas pedal down
Possibly... When you put the gas pedal down it puts the car in fload clear mode... Which basically shuts off the fuel..
Great video thank you.
Glad we cpuld help..
Can i replace the spider in my 1998 s10 with one off a 2008 both are 4.3 but the new one doesnt have a return line thanks
I'm not sure what would be all involved with that..
Hi..gotta 97 Chevy S10 with 4.3 vortex having the same issues...was wondering how long did this job take?? Don't have the money to pay the pro's..
You can get it done in a weekend for sure... Most likely an afternoon..
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 thanks my friend...not looking forward to it though..lol
How does your fuel spider line move mine dont just like yours and it's has glue so it does not move
Never saw a glued one... I would say just keep at it..
Where does the injector connecter white wire plug into
i'm not sure what you mean.
How long does it take to replace the spider on a 98 2500 Chevy pickup with 5.7 ?
It looks like somehow water got into the fuel system .
if it's your first time, i'd give it a weekend. but if all you have is water just drain the tank and throw in some water remover and hope for the best.

Gentlemen I currently hand an issue with my chevy 4.3l spider injector wiring involving some squirrel chew of the wires. Could you possibly send me a wire color and position of the module or a high detailed picture showing the colors?
all i got is what you can see in the video. it was a customers car.
Hey I have an 05 Chevy Express 1500 i did a spider injector replace on it. But for some reason the fuel feed line keeps popping out and then I get a puddle coming out from the bottom. How ca I fix that?
Find out why it's doing it
Whats the part number for the new injector assembly?
There are tons..
Dude!!!
Thanks man...
Glad to help
Hey my truck started then shut off. Checked for furl it has fuel all the way to the top of intake into spider injectors. Is there anyway to check if it's the injectors or the sensor that tells it to send fuel. It runs when sprayed with starting fluid
Well just cause it has fuel doeant mean its the right pressure so you should make sure the pressure is what it should be at the testing port with a fuel gauge
Checked pressure. It's got good pressure it drove fine went to store started it up to leave then it just died and wouldn't crank back have great pressure all the way up into top of intake/ spider injectors.
Wasn't sure if it has a sensor that tells it when to send the fuel through injectors or if it is just the box on top of the injector lines
Most of the time the biggest issue with bad injectors is hard starts. You said yours started then shut off.. So best is to find out if yiur missing spark or fuel. Then go from there..
Definitely fuel. I did replace distributor and button and it will fire right up if I spray starter fluid at air filter
Does the engine light come on for a bad regulator or spider injector?
@@evanrobinson7657 thank you for your insight
should pick up a misfire.
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 Thank you. Im at 145k and Im trying to do as much preventative maintenance. Already took care of everything in the bottom end. New chain timing even
How long did this take?
No sure we did alot of other work at the same time.
If your good..3-4 hours..if not 5-6..but it’s just r n r ..keep track of what comes off so reinstall goes easy for you..clean the throttle body good and the mass air flow 😎
Thanks man
How's the spider holding up still running good
Yup great
What about the one / three crossover?
I'm not sure what you mean?
The driver side injection hose routing. The picture in the instructions is very poor.
Replaced mine, now a constant cylinder one misfire upon start and a po200 cnf & pnd code. Any ideas where to start
Sell it... Lol no not really... Oh the injector unit..
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 I’m almost to that point…replaced it again last night just in case the part was a defective one. It was, misfire went away. Also wanted to check the plug on the misfired cylinder and ended up ripping the plug. So 2 spider units, new plugs, wires, and a throttle body pressure sensor and boom! Just like that, the original problem still isn’t fixed
@@bigred2oo766 I'd like to act surprised but it's just a really horrible design...
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 agreed. It’s a shame I love that truck so much. Running up on 250k miles and the only issue is occasionally turns over for a min or 2 before it starts
I’m having issues with my 96 blazer giving me a “check gages” message then it just dies out. I can start it again right away and it will be good for a few miles then do it all over again. Could a bad spider injector cause that to happen?
Could be anything...
crank sensor? had the same symptoms
today i tried to change my injectors. it was hard to install with hard plastics line. I finally put everything back together, and now my truck is running extremely rough, and misfiring.
Sounds like something went wrong..
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 update. spider was bad. i brought it back, and got a new one. I put the new one on, changed the spark plugs, and boom truck running better than when it was new. Drove it for a few days, went outside one morning, and now it doesnt want to start at all.

DO NOT USE VASELINE!!!
I'm no mechanic, I can work on my own shit, but I wouldn't call myself a mechanic, however, what I am is a maintenance technician. And after eons of experience, I can assure you, vaseline sounds like a good idea, however, it will eventually break down rubber.. so. I'd suggest plumbers grease. Danco brand is the best. Comes in a small squeeze tube.. I use that shit for everything!!! Just saying.. carry on!!
Never had an issue... Also it's what they teach mechanics at school...
Hello, if someone can tell me if the thin tube of the fuel pressure regulator should have a hose
No. It looks like it should have one but it is in case the regulator pressure gets to high. If it does, then the fuel is dumped out of the regulator.
The vaccum line?
What is the red cap on top of spider injector?
I think your looking at the seal gasket?
What was the cost of replacing spiders? Parts and labor if nothing else needs replaced to go back together ? Approx.
The customer supplies this 1.. But i think you can get the for around $100. You will also need an upper intake gasket set.. Depending on what your shop charges an hour.. Your looking at like $500-700 i would say.
Ok Thanks ! And your video was very helpful. Thanks for recording and sharing it.
The plenum is giving me trouble Any ideas on how to put it on
Read the injector install info really carefully there are 2 injector wire you have to route unconventionally or the plenum will never go back on. I know you prob already figured it out but posting for others trying to service it in the present. 😊
@adrian garcia just keep at it.
Ive had 3 of these new spiders in the last 4 weeks and it keeps losing number 7 and number 6 injector pulses
Every time I fix one the other stops working.
I have an updated fuel relay thats designed for both regular and flex fuel injectors so im not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
But it dont seem to bother the old style spider. Only the new ones
My truck has been down for almost two weeks since installing the most recent new set.
if i cant figure out whats going on i may be going back to the old spider very soon
it's a really bad design, not sure who thought it would be great lol.
What type of spider is it?
Factory.
I did mines n didn’t turn on just would back fired but before I change them engine was running now it just turn over n make a pop sound
Gotta be something you touched so start there.
Were u able fix ? Is it making a clank sound half split second?
My truck won’t start up it will just spin over could I be the spider injector
Could be anything.. Spider normally causes a hard start... Check to see if you have spark and fuel pressure
Would this cause it to miss while driving when foot to the floor
It can cause alot of things.. also alot of things can cause your problem...
BACKWOODZ CUSTOMZ 15 how about random misfire code p0300. It seems to idle fine but under soft easy acceleration it backfires and misses and after you get to running speed 55-60 and hold it steady it backfires and misses but if you accelerate hard and fast it revs up no misses or anything also when going 55ish and stomp down it just takes off and goes no problem.
Can this cause your truck to die while driving and stopping
Yes..
THANK YOU SO FUKING MUCH !!!
Would this cause fuel to leak out down the back of engine and on to the exhaust or is that a seperate thing by itself??
if your leaking fuel out the back of an engine, i would look at the fittings where the return and feed connect to this, or something got rusty, but i think the lines are stainless..
What’s the price range for a repair like that?
If your going to do it yourself like $200
Cool, thanks!
I have in the injectors in but can’t put the plenum on top
probably dont have the injector block seated properly
Would a bad spider injector throw oxygen sensor codes? Rough idle and eating fuel.
Thats all the issues...
BACKWOODZ CUSTOMZ 15 yes, I replaced oxygen sensors.
BACKWOODZ CUSTOMZ 15 plus had a cylinder 3 miss fire. But that code cleared. Never came back.
Did you just pull the injectors out? I don’t want to break mine
Just pinch them together and pull them out..
@@backwoodzcustomz1549 mine are a little different
