      As a Bulls fan who remembers that season well... D was coming off a series of injuries and had been on minutes restriction for a while. He had been playing up and down trying to get back to himself before this game.
      I think when Thibs saw that he was on that game, he wanted him to get some playing time to get back in rhythm.
      In hindsight, it was an awful idea but at the time, it made sense to help him come back to form for the rest of the playoffs

    What makes him so great is what makes him so injury prone. The wreckless movement with the hard cuts at various angles makes him very difficult to defend but it is at a cost. We see NFL WR and RB injure themselves in non-contact plays so it is bound to happen with D Rose prime play style who is jumping really high and landing hard on the hardwood. It is a build up of damage too and not necessarily one play. If he plays it safe and with easier "correct" form, he would be slower and wouldn't be the great offensive player he was during his prime. There is a reason why we don't see many players play like DROSE in his prime and remain healthy with long career. I got the Adidas D Rose 1.5 Restomod, D Rose 4 Restomod and D Rose 11 basketball sneakers. I have been really liking the D Rose 11 lately. Showing him support as a fan.

    See when he had the nik nakk injuries before the playoffs, thibs should have considered resting him when he didn't need to use him. Whether it's some games or whether it's the games he plays is the times you would rest him when your up knowing that the other team doesn't have enough time to come back. As coaches its important to really know your players and result or outcome of them. These are teenagers comin into the league so they need guidance and protection against themselves. Should have took that man who has had minor injuries during the season, out of the game once your up 15+ with 3-4 minutes left in game. That was thibs being too comfortable and careless with rose.

    As a Bulls fan, I will never forget this. We were winning by 12 points, why was he still playing?

    No one is clearing their bench up 12 in a playoff game. Now should he have been on the bench because of him coming off some nagging injuries that caused him to miss 26 games that season.
    Maybe.
    But I could argue that he needed minutes to round into shape to go on a championship run being that he missed 16 games heading into the playoffs.
    But if we look back on rose’s career, he was injury prone. I think he was too strong for his frame. But he was small and his game was predicated on his explosiveness.

    ii remember it like it was yesterday, i truly believe we would've made the finals this year. he battled little nagging injuries all season, i thought it was just because of the fact it was a lockout season. i always held out hope that he would return to mvp form, super unfortunate

    Tom Thibodeau ruined Derrick Rose by playing him too many minutes every single game.

  • @Mentalmatt14

    The game one injury fucked up his mentality and stopped him from believing in his own ability afterwards. He could’ve continued dominating like he was before the injury if he had that mamba style mentality. Maybe not quite the same level but I still believe he could have been a consistent 20 point scorer. Hell he averaged 18ppg in a triangle offence with the knicks. I just think He lost his drive to compete. I might be wrong but that’s just my opinion from what I’ve seen of him on the court since the injuries.

    • @NejiStorm
      @NejiStorm 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That injury showed that Rose was too good only because his speed and ability to finish around the rim. Bad IQ, bad shooter who lost his mentality to be one of the greatest.

    how many minutes did rose play in this game with intense pressure. they could have consume the time to 1:11 with12 points ahead. the NBA at this time the pre season and regular season should have been lessen and the time schedule are farther apart from each game, this was the lessons learned from all NBA players who were injured and ruined their careers.
