    I often wondered how the trailer got to site empty without causing as much disruption as moving it when full. This video shows the secret the trailer can be dismantled and all the parts arrive on site on a fleet of lorries together with some small cranes to build the trailer - neat !

      this method is used since early 70ies. always wonder how someone has not seen it so far. beeing alive with open eyes on this world is not so common?

    Why such a length of unit when the actual item is so short in lenght ? Is it to do with the weight .

    • @aetch77
      @aetch77 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The unit is 300 tons. The truck needs to be as big to spread out the weight so it does not sink into the road. Also, the truck itself likely weighs upward of 50 tons, so that weight has to be spread out as well.
      The weight limit for a standard lorry/truck with 6 axles (3 axles on the tractor unit and 3 axles on the trailer) on UK roads is 44 tons.

    They'll soon be able to do it with e-trucks - not.

      They likely could do this exact thing with ‘e-trucks’ now, given that the modular axel trailer does most of the work, that and the ‘e-trucks’ currently available on the market are actually just as powerful as their diesel and LNG equivalents, just a lot more expensive.
      I would suggest getting away from your bias on electric vehicles and realise that electric trucks have been a thing since the 1920’s, and with the huge advantages in battery technology they have become a lot better on the main issue, how far they could travel from its charger.

      in this weicht Claas its ans Leute unimportant If there are 20tons more for accus or Not to Delivery the e Trucks the Power for Not Only 10km...in my opinion in heavy haulage much easier than in Standard Trucks with max. weight of 40t and less
