  • After several months of engineering, planning and preparation, we completed the offloading and transport of a 155te transformer from Traeth y Graig Ddu (Black Rock Sands beach), Morfa Bychan in North West Wales, to the National Grid substation at Trawsfynydd on behalf of EUNSAN.
Working with Robert Wynn and Sons Ltd. we used the natural tide to beach the Terra Marique, allowing for a swift offloading of the transformer ready for its onwards journey on our 12 axle flat top trailer.

I wish you guys would do full length videos. That was utterly fascinating and 4 minutes is not enough.

Would love longer vids. Miss you folks from the tv. This could have filled 2 episodes of channel 5's "trucking heavy"

Great video, wish it was longer and more detailed.
It must have been a tight squeeze theough the narrow gap by the Oakeley Arms (a470).

This would have made one hell of a tv program, far better that the absolutely junk they put on these days. Saturday and Sunday nights TV is totally rubbish!!!

There are only two ways such a load could get through Porthmadog and both involve bridges which must have weight limits. Does anyone know the actual route taken. I'm sure the bypass would not stand that load?
