@pete.17057 Check out Alleleys movement of a transformer from the Lerwick ferry terminal to the new onshore consumer unit on Shetland. The transformer, plant, equipment , trucks and operatives had to be shipped from Aberdeen so the move could take place.

Is "te" an abbreviation for "metric ton" aka "tonne"? It's ugly! Video's lovely though. Must be awesome to 'get stuff done' like that. LostockSEP has its own website which explains that they're burning traditionally non-recyclable waste to generate steam - presumably for the turbine+generator combo delivered here?

WTF! You guys killed the job with all that equipment! 2 Versalifts, 4 hydraulic gantry towers, and 2 SPMT Good thing there was a lot of room to maneuver!

There are only two ways such a load could get through Porthmadog and both involve bridges which must have weight limits. Does anyone know the actual route taken. I'm sure the bypass would not stand that load?

A magnificent planning achievement considering everything including crew had to be shipped to Shetland. The converter is not far north of where Ill be spending a weeks holiday in a fortnight's time.

This would have made one hell of a tv program, far better that the absolutely junk they put on these days. Saturday and Sunday nights TV is totally rubbish!!!

Is this transformer similar to what was brought to South Wales (Hirwaun) recently?

Really interesting. Could you please explain why anything to do with electricity is so heavy. The generator is not actually that large physically but weighs 350 tons.

Watched alot of Allelys videos but never seen 5 trucks out front pulling. Must have used every heavy hauler in the Highlands

I think Allelys are missing a trick here. The videos are very nice, but seem to just be the sort of thing they'd show to prospective customers.

An aesthetic video, but it is very much fragmented and not very clear what is actually done. For a technician as I am, it's a useless video.
