Still using the S10 because it has a expandable memory, good size, headphone jack. Was thinking about upgrading to this one but would need to get a 256 GB version. I don't understand the larger phones that become uncomfortable to hold but they do have larger batteries, more RAM, and expanded memory options. Can still get the S24 as a free upgrade to the S24 or S24+.
I'm keeping my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra until 2027 when the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is released, after the four years of OS updates finish rolling out.
I'll keep my S9+ for another year. Though it doesn't support full 5G, it still performs flawlessly and same as new, has an awesome display, has SD memory expansion, has a headphone jack for my legacy great-sounding earphones, and is slightly smaller and lighter than both the S24+ and S24 Ultra. Also, the megapixel and other upgrades to the camera system aren't significant enough to be noticeable even when the photos are enlarged on a computer desktop display. I can use free desktop software for whatever enhancements and cropping that might be appropriate. Hopefully, next year's Samsung models will provide more features that make an upgrade cost-effective. In the meantime, I'd suggest that others consider getting off the costly upgrade merry-go-round for a few years for vanity reasons and save their money.

The Sandstone Orange S24 & S24+ exclusive to the Samsung store are the most gorgeous phone I've ever seen, but alas the Exynos in my region is what kills any interest. It's just not a risk I want to take when spending that much on a phone.
@@camotech1314 Then why did they push snap into US region if its sooo great and awsome. Kudos for your s22, s23 and s24 reviews all being very much part of a series, much like the phones themselves. In a world where reviews tend to be done by total massive nobbers, it's good to see review videos where the reviewers chair remains the same.
Yes. Thank you. Sammy keyboard auto correct is terrible for the words it refuses to get right. But that aside, I like a small ish smartphone. And the s23 / 24 fits the bill without giving any features up.
Ordered both the S24 and the S24+ and the S24 is just way more comfortable to use. Especially when using a case. Depending on the jeans/pants I wear, the S24+ sometimes digs into my hips when I'm sitting down and it's annoying as hell. With a case, it becomes a bit too wide for my liking as well.

it depends. Will the S24 be Exynos or Snapdragon? I have the S24 Plus with Exynos 2400, and it's pretty good. But I wouldn't buy the base S24 if it's Exynos.
Upgraded from a Pixel 2 XL, really liking it so far. Perfect companion to my Tab s6 lite and my needs. I don't play mobile games so no problem with the CPU. It's fast enough for me. I looked at getting the Ultra, but couldn't justify the extra cost as I already have a tablet and really don't need the extra screen size or pen. What's right for me may not be right for others. Can I listen to music, podcasts, audible, watch videos, make & receive calls? Yup. Do I need gaming, video editing or other high intensity tasks? Nope. Could I have gone for the A54 or even A34 instead and saved some money? Probably. Do I regret choosing the S24? Definitely not!
It's a shame they didn't put a bigger battery in the S24... would an extra millimetre to accommodate a 5000mah battery really have been the end of the world? And give it 45W charging too...
Just upgrade, but keep the s10e. I own the 22ultra, zflip3, and s10e, flamingo pink. And guess what phone I'm typing on. And is in my hand the most?...s10e.
I absolute love the size of the s24. I got mine, in sandstone yellow. I love it so far. But I noticed it is not much faster than my S21 FE in the UI. But in games, it absolutely dominates(exynos 2400). The biggest problem with the s24 ultra for me is its size.. I don't want anything bigger than 6.2 inches. Even my s21 FE but I got it for 400€ as new so it was a steal. I love the new AI features. And I got some strangely high scores in benchmarks. In geekbench for example I got 7400 on multicore and 2300 on single. (Maybe a golden chip?)
does anyone do gaming without a phone getting hot? And who does video editing on their phone on some kind of commercial scale? It's not like you won't beable to edit a holiday video and upload it.
Been using a s24 for 4 weeks and couple of points for me means that I will be selling it , under the same usage as the iPhone 15 I got the battery is significantly worse for example on work days I would finish work with around 45/50% on the s24 while the iPhone 15 would be on around 65/70% more less same usage , camera is way slower to take a picture I can't explain better than that iPhone click the button and instantly saves , apps are better optimised, better looking which I understand is a lot harder to achieve on android because of the amount of device developers have to make the app for but still
as it was pointed out by other reviewers, the modem in exynos is the culprit for that very high temp. At wifi, exynos & snapdragon temp would almost be the same
I will stick with my S21 Ultra and Z Flip 5. Normally getting bored with phones quote fast, but somehow now I don't. Form factor of S21 Ultra is way better IMO then later versions and cameras are still pretty amazing
You know, one of the most useful things you can tell us about a phone, is whether new technologies bring better security. Currently, all in screen fingerprint readers don't work with a tempered glass screen protector on, instead the plastic film has to be used. Is this any different with the S24? No reviewers ever say, and I'd think well over 50% of your audience would consider a tempered glass screen protector on their brand new £500+ phone.
I'm considering swapping from an S21 ultra to the standard S24. There's nothing wrong with my s21 ultra, I'm just after a smaller phone and a bit of an update. Main concern is battery. Should I swap? Will I see a big difference in battery life? If I don't swap this year, when I do finally swap it will most likely be for a smaller phone. Would you make the jump now? Cheers
Don't understand why people would pay $1,300 on a phone to game when that's what gaming laptops cost. Like if you just got a phone and it's still supported, why not game on a computer instead?
It's not just the battery it's the charging as well that is a huge disappointment. So many other goodies packed into a small phone but let down by lunchtime.
4,000mAH battery, no microSD card slot? No way! Incidentally, you realize that only Pommies and Aussies will understand your slang and your Mancunian(?) accent?
I had the s22 and anything exynos would be a forever no for me. It’s the only phone I ever returned. Trust me, unless you are forever near a charging point you’ll regret it even if it’s cheap. Last straw was when it was 100% fully charged at 8am and under 10% at 130pm. And I’m not a mobile gamer - this was web browsing and Spotify
Idk why they copied iphone with the s24 and s24+ but they made the cameras look like the mid tear phones samsung sells. I think the s22+ has perfect and unique design while also being comfortable in the hand.
Just bought a Sim free S24 256Gb from Currys.. Sammy knocked £50 off ( dunno why) at the till, and I got £55 trade in for an old Sammy A6 found in a drawer. So it went through the tills ar £754, bargain.. And there's more.. A set galaxy ear buds and a smart tag free gift to be claimed once the phone turns up...
Its a automatic no from me just from the size alone. The normal S24 sports a manageable 6.2 inch screen while the Plus/ultra goes up to a big 6.8 inches. Phones really are getting way to big , and at a point you pretty much just have a tablet. The S pen is cool and all but at that point just get tablet to really use the pen.
They aren't going back so you just keep hoping, besides why do you nerds want to keep 1tb worth of shit on your phone. The plus has up to 512 gb of memory, how much do you need?
@usps89130 Who said anything about 1tb Mister Mailman? I got hundreds of GBs of Music on my SD which is in my device, I also get Movies & TV series which I move to other USB devices Etc. I don't wish to use Cloud Storage as the sizes of these types of files varies and as you may know have have costs associated with the use of. The SD card makes more sense economically 👊 👊

What they did is place all better processors for US market and put the exynos elsewhere just to lower cost production. Its not fair, people should have a choice, either go with exynos or snapdragon.
The Sandstone Orange S24 & S24+ exclusive to the Samsung store are the most gorgeous phone I've ever seen, but alas the Exynos in my region is what kills any interest. It's just not a risk I want to take when spending that much on a phone.
Lets wait for s25 with snapdragon chip
Nothing wrong with Exynos, keep waiting for nothing. Samsung is going to keep optimizing Exynos.
Lol s25 is going all exynos most other brands mediatek
@@camotech1314 Then why did they push snap into US region if its sooo great and awsome. When asked what procesor they think is better...the samsung staff goes silent...sooo much hope in the exynos ones that they release all phones with snapdragon on their own Korean market, not home procesor but snapdragon one.
Just use Google keyboard
Ordered both the S24 and the S24+ and the S24 is just way more comfortable to use. Especially when using a case. Depending on the jeans/pants I wear, the S24+ sometimes digs into my hips when I'm sitting down and it's annoying as hell. With a case, it becomes a bit too wide for my liking as well.
how tall are you?
@@fighter1991fu 5'10
I like my Samsung Galaxy a 15 5g for right now it's getting done what I like to do on it 😊...
So would you say the s23 would be the better buy over the 24?
Great review mate. My current partner is looking as she's in upgrade territory and she loved this review and is gonna see if she can get it on upgrade on her contract. Compact size, she doesn't care about cameras, although they'll be really better than her 3 years old Chinese piece of ...., and decent upgrades/security and compatibility 100% android play store Google etc. Cheers man
She will be happy with the regular S24 if she wants something compact. I got an S24+ myself and it's amazing!! 😊
@@camotech1314 Cheers Mate, We are going to upgrade this weekend and she seems happy with the idea of the S24, I know she'll love it once it's cradled in her little hands lol. :)
ill take blunt damage + over sharp damage , coming from the s10 the only thing i miss are the curved edges. expansion and the audio jack , just those small things , with 25 coming up and 25 being a year of classics i do hope they at least bring back the screen if i can have anything at all
I got the s24, buggy software at this point, all of my apps are lost from my app draw that I downloaded. Getting rid of it and going back to my s10.
@LoverOfTech Ben gets everywhere man 🤣 Seems to be everyone's portrait model of choice. Was great hanging out in San Jose, shame I didn't get a chance to bump into you Chris.
Great review as always 😎🔥
Haha he's proper photogenic, the jammy get 😅 Gah, didn't know you were there mate, hopefully on the next jolly!
Im between the s23plus and the s24, which do you think i should buy?
it depends. Will the S24 be Exynos or Snapdragon? I have the S24 Plus with Exynos 2400, and it's pretty good. But I wouldn't buy the base S24 if it's Exynos.
@@davidhiggins2804 what is the logic here?
@@fighter1991fu the base s24 with exynos will struggle to get through a full day on a single charge. The snapdragon should be fine.
Nice phone but a iPhone SE sized phone for normal use and much lower price Would be nice too.
S24 here in Southeast Asia is offered with 256GB, with a free bump to 512GB if you preorder before launch.
It's a shame they didn't put a bigger battery in the S24... would an extra millimetre to accommodate a 5000mah battery really have been the end of the world? And give it 45W charging too...
Hey bro, where do you get your anime wallpapers?
I opted S23 over S24. I was getting s24 at 55k with exchange and s23 at 50k, but i didn't take risk and i am happy
Saw this s24 on display. Currently using my almost 5 year old S10e. Now I'm thinking is this the right replacement for the s10e.
Same here🤔 dont know what to do...
Just upgrade, but keep the s10e. I own the 22ultra, zflip3, and s10e, flamingo pink. And guess what phone I'm typing on. And is in my hand the most?...s10e.
How’s idle battery drain for the base S24? How many percentage points do you lose each hour overnight if you don’t charge it?
Are you using a different camera to film this video?? Seems like everything is much clearer.
Can you make a comparison between the regular s24 and regular s23 please :)
Im in love with this wallpaper, someone knos what's the anime name ? 6:39 ❤
I'm considering upgrading from my Galaxy Z flip 4 to the S24 or the S24 +
Perhaps One PLUS should be looking at updates extensions? Especially with the one plus 8 pro.
Oneplus is bad at updates 😢 only android company I trust for updates is Samsung and google
does anyone do gaming without a phone getting hot? And who does video editing on their phone on some kind of commercial scale? It's not like you won't beable to edit a holiday video and upload it.
Nailed it. Thanks for the review. I definitely prefer compact phones so the regular S24 it is!
Never trust Exynos! Ever !
If Samsung expect their phones to have 7 years of updates then customers should demand a 7 year warranty.

Cheers
👀
Don't understand why people would pay $1,300 on a phone to game when that's what gaming laptops cost. Like if you just got a phone and it's still supported, why not game on a computer instead?
Because you phone lives in your pocket but a laptop doesn't?
OMG, i live in Leipzig! We could've met!
How did u like the City?
Ahh, lucky, Leipzig was great, very chill - although the karaoke bar didn't let us in at 1am!
@@ChrisBarraclough love to hear that, I just feel sorry for the Bar, I bet they missed a real great Singer in u
Love always on display feature on the recent android phones (samsung, Xiaomi, Oneplus etc)
It's not just the battery it's the charging as well that is a huge disappointment. So many other goodies packed into a small phone but let down by lunchtime.
Till this day I'm still loving my s22
Tried ultra and plus for a week, I'm returning the ultra tomorrow. The plus is more than enough for me 👍.
4,000mAH battery, no microSD card slot? No way!
Incidentally, you realize that only Pommies and Aussies will understand your slang and your Mancunian(?) accent?
When do the S series ever have micro sd slot
Watching on my S24+
Just want to know where you are downloading wallpapers for the phone
ZEDGE
I had the s22 and anything exynos would be a forever no for me. It’s the only phone I ever returned.
Trust me, unless you are forever near a charging point you’ll regret it even if it’s cheap. Last straw was when it was 100% fully charged at 8am and under 10% at 130pm. And I’m not a mobile gamer - this was web browsing and Spotify
All in all, S23 vs S24- should you upgrade or its not woth it??
Idk why they copied iphone with the s24 and s24+ but they made the cameras look like the mid tear phones samsung sells. I think the s22+ has perfect and unique design while also being comfortable in the hand.
3:05 is basically Bixby saying "LMGTFY, badly" :D
As the user of a Galaxy S23 Ultra in America, I'm honestly jealous of Exynos users. The GPS accuracy on Snapdragon phones is frustratingly random.
I'm not upgrading! I'm keeping my still brand new 9 years Galaxy S3 😡😠
Hey Tech Spurt! What do you use to get these high quality wallpapers? Thanks :)
They need to bring the microSD slot back thats the only thing that has kept me from going above a S20. 😢
I would love to get phone but chip kills me wonder if gamble worth it dont want to get ultra wont use styles
Someone finally talking about the autocorrect issue, I love the Samsung keyboard but have to use Google's keyboard because of the autocorrect issue
What u was watching on 7:14 ?
That PATHETIC motion blur from moving subjects persists. That's why I have never ever bought a Samsung.
