Been cramming learning about lifts before I make the move on my Wildtrak. This is the most helpful video I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much. Your visuals helped immensely.
Great video! It’s good to hear from professionals that know this inside and out. I’m definitely going with a coil over lift from Fox, King or Bilstein. Thank you guys!
Great video full of information. Just a note for lifting with coilover shocks such as King Shocks. When you buy a King coilover Shock for the front of the Ford Bronco it is about 1.10" longer than the factory SAS coilover and at least 1.25" longer than the factory Badlands coilover. So at full droop the King shock will increase the CV angle to a extreme angle no different than 1" spacer lift installed on top of the factory coilover. No one seems to talk about this issue. However the Fox coilover has mirrored the factory length coilover for the SAS and Badlands. So the Fox coilover will not increase CV axle angle at full droop as the King coilover does. Now King states that the increased angle is acceptable, however this should be mentioned when discussing lifts and options.
Great vid, guys. I basically just want to get back the clearance I lost on my 2 door Heritage from having it loaded for overlanding. And currently, it hits the bump stops too easily when loaded. 1.5" perch collars sounds like a good solution.
Great video, couple semantic nitpicks: Perch collars don't change the spring rate, but they do change the preload so its true that it may ride a bit harsher, but not the same as a higher spring rate. Also, with shocks use the term "Damping" not "Dampening" Dampening would be if you were going over something with a wet rag.
It would be cool if you guys can go through the variety of coilovers available for these and point out what's unique about each and what each are good for. Probably won't happen because of brand issues, but y'alls experience would be very valuable.
I really appreciate this video guys. I'm still undecided what lift I'm going to go with since there's an endless amount of videos with information that sometimes contradict each other or whatever the case may be. I guess one of the big things is going to be axle blind or that CV separation.
For me the sasquatch is plenty. I remember looking at what was then the most off road capable from factory jeep rubicon, for a few years, wondering when I get it with the stock 33's how I would lift it and add 35s or 37s... Then ford offered sasquatch package. Bronco was my answer!
Great video! SVC perch collars here. Ride is only slightly firmer than stock and it gave me around 2” of lift. Very happy with it thus far. Maybe one day I’ll run into you guys at Uwharrie.
Thank you so very much!! I was going to buy my wife an Explorer St or Edge, till she saw the Bronco.. She blew me away wanting a 4 door,Race Red Outer Banks, with parttime 4wd.. I am thinking just the first spacers you showed..we are going for looks not off road.. thank you so much!!
I have a set of the Fox 2.5s on order from a local shop. Can't wait to get it. Currently using the Zone Adventure series (spacer lift) to fit the BFG KM3 37s. I chose the KM3s for 37s specifically because they are on the lighter side and I loved them on my old 4Runner.
This is one of the most informative videos I've seen on such a subject. I'm glad you warned your viewers about the dangers of coloring outside the lines. On that same line of logic, this is likely to impact your warranty from Ford. If you get work done from a reputable shop they may include their own warranty on their parts and labor. Is that your experience?
Great stuff Vaughn and Loren!!! There was one Lift mod you guys did not cover :) I am installing an Eiback Pro Lift kit (Springs ONLY) on my SAS Bronco. It will lift it by approx 1.5 Inches all around. I am also installing a rear ICON Track Bar and a set of Johnny Joint rear trailing Links (upper and lower). If you do have some time, would you explain how this would all this affect my Bronco geometry and am I doing the right thing? It would be greatly appreciated, especially coming from Pros such as yourselves.
I’d say, if you’re actually going to off road your bronco, coil overs are your best bet. Mall crawling and light trail riding. Spacers will be more budget friendly
that was the most informative video about bronco upgrades iv ever seen i have a 2021 sasquatch 2.7l black diamond that sees light off road weekly i want 37" for look and i decided on perch lift now ill hold out for coil overs ...just need funds then i will contact you for suggestions
I bought a used Badlands non-sas. The previous owner added sas wheels and tires (35s). The suspension is still non-sas. From my research the non-sas badlands suspension has more articulation than sas, I think +1” up travel. Currently it bottoms out at full up travel. I love this setup. My plan is to put a 3/4” body lift to clear the 35s. If my math is right i should clear full articulation. Thoughts? By the way this Bronco is an Idaho mountain and desert rig, flexing with lockers engaged and stay bar disengaged with light throttle control. 😎 thanks for any input you can give!!!
Awesome video guys thanks… I have a 2023 bronco Sasquatch 4 door with the 2.7 I want to do a leveling kit because I hate it when they don’t sit level. Should I have any concerns & is there a kit you guys recommend? If you could get back to me on this that would be great. Thanks…
I bet that fun haver LT kit is going to cost well north of $20K. Doubt there's going to be much interest, especially after a year of waiting for it to be available for purchase.
TY for the information! I'll be keeping my 2023 Wildtrak stock when it comes to suspension. The only way I'd do a lift at this point would be a full coil-over and upper control arm replacement, which is major bucks. I'll stick with my HOSS 3.0. Would love to see driving technic tips. I have a ton of track experience, but zero off-road experience.
@@VaughnGittinJr Looking forward to it. On the 6G Forum, many of the members notice your driving technic vs. many other TH-camrs. I know smooth inputs is the key and not bouncing. I placed the order today! Got the spare tire carrier, rear bumper, molle accessory plates - three of them and the spare tire stop. Now, if Ford can just build my Wildtrak!
Thoughts on the zone off road or Iconn lifts? I feel like a 2 inch lift goes a long way on the Squatch but nervous to pull the trigger on moderate off-roading.
@VaughnGittinJr Great video, I learnt a lot! One thing that wasn’t clear to me is, what happens if I put a taller or stiffer spring with my current shock? I am in Australia and have a Ranger Raptor, (apparently built on the Bronco foundation) it comes with the Fox 2.5 Live Valve shocks… a lot of us are hunting for options to lift these, however due to the current set up being very good we are at a loss as to which direction to go. I’m leaning towards changing out the springs for a taller/stiffer spring, I understand that I will have to adjust the ride height to ensure the Fox Live Valve operates within the correct range. Is there anything else I need to consider, that a taller spring will can affect?
Nice video but it would be great if you actually had the lift kit for sale. The bronco has been out for a couple of years now. How do you not have the kit for sale yet.
Currently on 3" Ready Lift perch collar lift on 37s. Rides and drives great but with stock front springs and a winch and winch bumper, I think it sags too much and need to go with adj coilovers.
Awesome. My decision is to stick w my sas package. Thanks. Question. I put broncbuster braces on my tie rods. Sas no mods. Is that a problem? I was thinking extra insurance. I do moderate to difficult off roading.
I'm installing the new Ford severe steering kit on my Bronco SAS. Then adding 37s with perch collars and maybe new UCA. I'm still thinking thru this complicated endeavor. Trails not to exceed 6. Thots?
Hello Guys, I saw your video and it was informative. However, I am still unsure of what is needed. My daughter has a 2023 Bronco Big Bend and is into camping and hiking. I would like for her to modify her Bronco with a lift and slightly bigger tires just incase she visits some areas that require easy to moderate obstacles to get to the campsite or hiking trails. What are your recommendations? Please note that I am not looking for her to modify her Bronco and do what you guys have shown on your video. @Vaughn Gittin Jr. Do your Funhaver widebody fenders work on 35's? My current build is a Wildtrak 2 door stock. i want to keep my factory sasquatch bilsteins and factory bead lock wheels 0 off set
what do you think about spacer lift 2/3 inch frt & bck with control arm upgrade and relocation track bar bracket (im told ill need such)
should that be enough for 37" tires for light off road and mudding without messing up suspension geometry
i already installed bronco buster tie rod braces and have about $2000 for suspension and 2500 for tires
any suggestions or advice please
When is the two door wide body kit for sale?????
Should be January at the latest. We are test fitting fender liners in the next week.
