Given that Super Mario RPG is a collaboration between Nintendo and Square i like to think Beeg Yoshi is a reference to the Fat Chocobo in the FF series.
Would have been funny had they made the original fat Yoshi serve as an item storehouse as a reference to the fat Chocobos from the original Final Fantasy IV.

@@Handheld_Handle Yes i am aware yet i mentioned Final Fantasy IV as that is the game which served as the basis for the original Super Mario RPG with it's battle system and soundtrack partly taken from FF IV including the Culex boss fight and the Victory fanfare which plays when you beat him.

What would the story be about? After defeating Smithy in his own world and restoring the Star Road it would have to involve an even bigger threat that would force "Geno" to possess Gaz's doll again and help Mario and company.
There was a sequel called "Mario RPG 2", and changed it later to "Paper Mario".
Agreed. Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi RPGs on GBA were all kind of different imho. Hopefully they make a spiritual follow up to this Mario RPG with a new storyline.

On the desk in the ground floor of Booster's Tower, there is a model of Magitek Armor from Final Fantasy 6.
It was super hard to figure out on the original and seeing so clearly in the remake was incredible.
Holy Dang! I never noticed it in the original and had to check upon reading this!
Its amazing that they have little animations for the kissing scene.
They truly upgraded every single aspect of the original cartridge to make the experience more inmersive.

For belome's temple, it's not "rare occasions" and can be triggered. With the 3 golden heads hit them in the order left right center and you will be able to access it. For the key he demands talk to the thwomp in monster town a few times he will drop the key above his house outside. Note that you have access to monster town only after clearing the belome temple the traditional way, so the treasure room is only accessible afterwards.
Yes and no, its only one head, its after the 3 heads puzzle, there is one head and throws one out of two options when you jump at it, one says something about being hungry, that the one that takes you toBellome's second boss fight and the other one about not accepting visitors on dinner i think, that one leads to the "secret" room.
It's not rare, but you can't do anything to guarantee it to happen first try either.
How sick would a new RPG game be that’s set in the shared Nintendoverse. A team of Mario, Link, Samus and others on an epic quest.

This Remake has very little to no censorship for all that was kept, and this makes me so darn happy 🥳
I really love this game so far right now I’m training everyone by grinding so I challenge culex later on. You know what function I wished they added the ability to put any character on the field like in final fantasy IV where you can switch off Mario and play as either mallow geno bowser or peach during exploration.
Real surprising they were able to make it a remake instead of a remaster
Pretty much the only thing that could arguably be considered "censored" is some stuff late in the game around Dodo, where they altered a few lines to remove some weight-based insulting language. Which really is a straight-up upgrade IMO.
With the exception of Valentina's jiggle physics being reduced in the remake. That goes to Mario's nose now.

I'm glad all the secrets from the originalmade it in, but I have to be honest, im a bit sad they didn't change the 8bit mario secret to have him change into the original Mario RPG sprite, would have been really funny.

But still it is surprising that Peach's (???) Was still left in, i mean that clearly implied some kind of sexual material or something private for Peach like her bras or panties.
Who knows, either way it is impressive that in this day in age with the sensitive weirdos and all, Nintendo didn't take it out of the game.

I’m so glad they kept it faithful to the original, but I really wish that the 8-bit Mario sprite was replaced by Mario’s original sprite in the original game, that would be charming and ironic 😂❤️

Maybe have the 16-bit sprites that you can see if you keep walking behind the curtain after the smb1 sprite, Like Smb1->Smb1 all stars->Smw->Og Smrpg
Now this is how you make a remake. Not those other “ remasters” out there. Such a beautifully made game. Shows Nintendo would have you wait for perfection than rush out something mediocre
Meh, I can think of quite a bunch of Nintendo remakes that felt like de-makes (Skyward Sword, Luigi's Mansion, BDSP, Superstar Saga, Secret of Mana, Metroid Prime, the upcoming Luigi's Mansion 2 by the looks of it...)
This and Samus Returns are rare Nintendo Ws in that regard.

@@scoobydont101 It honestly blows my mind that Metroid games no longer let you remap buttons. Super Metroid had that feature back in 1994, but for some reason it stayed there and has never been implemented again.

From the timing of the original game's release, I always assumed that Link sleeping was a nod to Link's Awakening
I guess Link's awakening basically takes place in mushroom kingdom.
Back in the day there was a rumor of the blue snifit being able to join your party. Dunno if they left it in the game but in one of the zones there are the snifit apprentices trying to become the higher ranks. If you purposefully lose to them which is really hard, the game doesn’t end. They run off saying they will get a new rank. Eventually if you do that for all of them, I think they appear at the casino or somewhere else saying something. It’s been awhile…
The apprentice snifits you're referring to are in the remake, found in a secret area in Booster Pass after pressing a green switch in Booster Tower, and can still be upgraded to their black robes after losing to 5 of them. Its actually a bit harder to do it this time even after unequiping your armor and accessories because of both the in battle party switch and Bowser seemingly being buffed defensively in the remake. All of the promoted snifits can be found on the top floor of the tower, a couple areas before Booster's room, standing by the doorway. There is also one disgruntled apprentice that stands on the stairs near the other former apprentices, complaining that his training went to waste because his crazy boss only wants 7 Snifsters before saying he plans to go to an arcade. It a cute little sidequest.
Though it's possible the last apprentice finally got his promotion if the wedding scene with Booster and Valentina after beating Smithy is anything to go by. Good for him.
But can they join your party?
@NoHomerS nah. No additional party members outside of the core 5. The only Mario RPGs that do have extra party members are thousand year door and Super Paper Mario.

i didnt know about the lamb lure can become target all after certain amount of usage and the fat yoshi after feeding him so much cookies

For me it was the same i only knew about the fat Yoshi because of my curiosity in wanting to know what happened if you kept overfeeding the baby Yoshi leading me to waste hours trying to win the Yoshi race in order to farm as many Yoshi Cookies as it was necessary.
The Lamb Lure i never knew anything about as i never found it useful in battle and had no internet guides telling me you could unlock special abilities by equiping certain items. (sigh) The good ol' days.
@@javiervasquez625 the ONLY reason I knew about the Lambs lure thing was one of my friends had a subscription to Nintendo Power that mentioned it and I read it one time when I spent the night at his house
I first played the original shortly after it came out, and I've replayed it many times since, but I never encountered fat Yoshi, as I'm terrible at the Yoshi race game.

@@shinjiblack9460 Same that would be amazing but alas they didn't release a sequel in the 27 years since the original game came out so i doubt Nintendo has ever considered the possibility for a sequel. Maybe if the remake sells many copies that _might_ shake some heads as to the idea of a followup with the same HD graphics but as of right now i'm fairly certain this remake is all we'll ever see.

there is a secret code that was in the original japanese super famicom. go to menu , press down, up, right, left, select , start, select, start, B. but here in the remake, go to menu (+) , Down, Up, Right, Left, L, R, L, R, B. it does nothing, just toad will appear and do something.

At least the casino looks somewhat like a casino, think the original it was just a small room.
Truth be told most of the locations in the game were redesigned to better convey the nature of said location.

It's based on how fast you can collect Peach's accessories. If you're quick enough, you get the good ending. Too slow, and you get one of the other endings.
It is dependent on how fast you get Peach's items. The candles near the benches act like a timer.

They should have at the very least made Luigi a party member in the remake but they were too lazy to do so.

This remaster is a master piece, I can only think of 2 bad things this game is missing.
It should have included the original snes version inside the game.
Now because of the new mechanics now the game is more easy, so they should have included the original snes difficulty, without the tri-team attack and without being able to change characters in mid battles. Maybe they can include this difficulty in an update.
While playing this game, I cannot avoid to think the final fantasy 7 remaster should have been this way, the same game just nicer graphics, the main characters sprites should look just like the ones in the manual, but in smaller scale I would have liked this, but well at least there was a remaster.

@@firegoat5853 Still it would have dismissed the context of the original game's easter egg by having the original 8 bit Mario theme song playing in the background only for a different Mario sprite to appear with no context in regards to the song. For the sake of consistency with the original easter egg they had no choice but to be 100% faithful.

Fun Fact: according to Nintendo themselves on Twitter/X/whatever you call it, "Peach's ???" is actually Peach's mushroom cap, as the reward is a mushroom, and her family has a mushroom cap on their heads, and the reward is an actual mushroom. how do we know it is not peach's..umm..toy? well, The Vibe Staff is mentioned by name in SPP, and that is not mentioned anywhere in RPG.

So do Samus and Link's appearance in this game mean that Captain N cartoon is Canon?
Captain N may not be, but I think all Nintendo worlds exist within a same universe, and they've made cameos in each other's games and alluded that they may not even be that far away from each other, like Kirby helping Samus get rid of some Metroids that snuck into Pop Star, or Fox and Falco joining F-Zero in one of Command's endings, or Wario assisting Starfy
They're just easter eggs added for the fun of it guys there's no "multiverse conspiracy" regarding the possibility all Nintendo franchises exist in the same dimension with the ability to interact with one another.
2 things come to my mind fist, is Captain N legally a Nintendo IP? I thought it was CBS or whatever network broadcasted it...second, I wonder how many people 25 (or so) and under are trying to figure out who Captain N is XD

i feel good because i managed to not get seen by booster 3 times, causing me to not have to fight him, but i still got his entry in the monster list in the journal with the thought peek already unlocked and all the weakness icon things known too

Hello Nintendo Unity, I'm Jelly77.I subscribed your youtube, but I have a question, what's your nintendo's friend cude?
Im super happy with the end game in this game. I had fun in the base game, but the combat was just too easy. Like I dont need every random encounter to be life or dearh, but I dont think there was even one single turn in the whole of the base game where I was even close to even starting to be in danger, no grinding or anything.
Then I got to a post game fight and got absolutely trounced in like 3 turns lol. Actually gonna need to use something other than attack now lmao. I did do the geno whirl to insta-kill the big sword dude though, just looked fun and seeing as I was taking 1 damage from the boss I dont really consider it a chesse, more like a skip cutscene button lol.
I didn't even know that Luigi was in the game.
Don't know about the remake, but in the original he only appears in the ending credits leading a parade.
He also has an easter egg when one of the wishes you can listen belonha to him.
One easter egg is missing the toys in Boosters Room one is a Samus action figure the Famicom guy R.O.B. The robot and the big creature from Pikman I Think
