- Ozkabot makes his return to 810NICLE Day in full force! A year long, collaborative effort between him and the 810 team, along with Essenger and his exceptional new single with Cryoshell, this ambitious project opened 810 2023 complete with new narration from Christopher Gaze, the voice of Turaga Vakama himself!
This project could not have happened without the tireless creative efforts of everyone involved, as well as our wonderful Patrons and donors who will be listed below. It has been an honour to work with such a talented team, and a privilege to premiere it on our humble little event. What better way to start off 810's 5th anniversary with a bang?

You got Christopher Gaze to come back for a 20 year reprisal of Turaga Vakama? Impressive.
Dude that is awesome
Seki Tomokazu(Yzak,Domon Kasshu) would suit Vakama in Japanese voice.

This is just proof that while United in single Duty (celebrating Bionicle), We can reach anything.
True Toa NEVER refuse a call for help. AND. NEVER. SURRENDER.
Happy 810NICLE DAY from New Zealand!
The Wisdom to seek Unity,
The Courage to follow Duty,
And the Power to forge Destiny.
They are forever linked by Honor.
This is the way… of the BIONICLE!
Christopher Gaze's narration brought tears to my eyes. Brilliant work from all parties!
heres to hoping Bionicle Masks of power will be as successful as we hope it will
Three Words.
Six Heroes.
One Universe.
BIONICLE.
“It’s fourteen heroes now,but Matoro didn’t make it.”-Tamori.
Unity. Duty. Destiny.
That's five words, chief
@@canislupus3655 The 3 words are unity, duty, destiny
@@Lemuel928 Rip Matoro. The realest Toa to ever fight the good fight.
This might be the best editing I've ever seen.
So many separate clips, many of which are not from the movie, seamlessly and tightly coordinated with the music.
The hidden wipe transitions, the way the motion of one character or object becomes the motion of another, the references to plot points and voice lines, it's SO good!
This is edited far better than the actual movie was!
Oh my god Gaze sounds almost exactly the same, that's impressive
I just actually can't believe that a feat of this size was pulled off this long after Bionicle ended. The love persists. Not all the Chroniclers are silent.
that's because he's an actor, he's putting on a voice. There are TED talks where you can hear his normal speaking voice, I found that he actually sounds very fitting for Toa Vakama when he talks casually, very much like turaga vakama but with a more youthful energy
The franchise is getting attention and thats what excites me
and not all the village fires have gone out, some still burn. keeping the legend alive.
Indeed. There are some Chroniclers out there writing new stories and documenting history as it's made. For instance, I'm in the process of writing a Bionicle crossover fanfiction that takes place after the events of "Mask of Light". I've got a few scenes written out but I'm still deciding on a title.
Do you hear that, gathered friends? That's the fire of our childhoods, rekindled and lighting up the universe!
Agreed. The nostalgia never hit harder. It felt like watching the rented Mask of light VHS once again...
the fire has been relit and our legacy Reborn
This is our shared legacy. Unity. Duty. Destiny.
Our *Unity* makes us strong as the Toa. Honoring the BIONICLE Legends is our *Duty* Remembering the BIONICLE Legends is our *Destiny!* It shall forever pass on.
Jesus Christ what a way to recapture the original magic of Bionicle. It feels wrong not to have a new wave of sets being advertised while the song plays
Essenger and Cryoshell hit it out of the park with this track, and I’m so pleased with how the music video turned out!
Of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Christopher Gaze’s phenomenal narration; really does feel like a full circle moment working with an original performance having grown up with these movies.
Been such a pleasure working with the 810 team on this!
I remember watching the directors commentary of Mask of Light and how the director praised Christopher Gaze's voice and how it suited Turaga Vakama. What a wonderful and distinct casting choice. Thank you Mr Gaze for voicing this, it is delightfully nostalgic, and well done to the editor and of course Essenger and Cryoshell.
What a blessing to be part of this fandom, I love that we keep this ol' story alive!
I distinctly remember laughing at them wanting Gaze for his answering machine. Me too, man, me too.
Bionicle, at its core, is a story about everything you care about being dying or dead, and having been that way for a long time, but you still persevere. Honored to share the love for this franchise with you all.
...How is that?
@cathleenmoyle1476 The Toa fighting to reawaken Mata Nui, the Turaga watching over the Matoran after the fall of Metru Nui, the Matoran living their lives despite the powerful horrors of their world, the Glatorian fighting for survival, the Great Beings creating a way to repair their shattered planet. As above, so below.
Oh... huh. I do agree though that the Matoran universe is shit.@@Jake-yz3qv
Not quite. But interpret it how you wish.
Holy crap, I never looked at the story this way, but yes, _every chapter_ of Bionicle's story centered on people persevering in the shadow of some great loss.
Mata Nui was a paradise that was actually a refuge for the amnesiac refugees of a once-glorious city now abandoned.
Said city, Metru Nui, was itself given 6 new, inexperienced heroes trying their best to cope amidst the loss of their beloved Toa Mangai, as the city itself struggled to persevere even as its guiding intelligence fell asleep.
Voya Nui and Mahri Nui were post apocalyptic lands struggling to carry on after a cataclysm did untold damage to their lands and broke them apart, both civilizations grieving for the loss of the other, having assumed them destroyed.
Karda Nui is the chance for our greatest heroes to undo that original sin, and restart a dying universe.
Bara Magna was where this theme was perhaps most obvious, being a wasteland resulting from the hubris of Great Beings, filled with resentful survivors ekeing their meager living in what remained of their world.
Thank you for this.
I struggle with depression (and trauma) and sometimes it's too easy to forget what joy felt like, letting out tears or even feeling emotion at all.
When the female vocals kicked in so many memories started rushing back in I broke down crying. Memories of feelings I forgot I once had. It made me feel alive again, as the little kid I used to be, reminded me that I'm not dead just yet.
Thank you so much. I really needed this.
Stay strong man 💪
Never forget the words that launched Bionicle: Six Heroes, One Destiny. As for Mask of Light: "New legends awake but old lessons MUST be remembered. This is the way of the Bionicle." - Turaga Vakama
It's a treat hearing Turaga Vakama again after all these years. I love this fandom immensely
I hope you'll get Christopher Gaze to narrate the year of 2007 and the story of Matoro the true hero of the Bionicle Universe when that day comes on Bionicle Day
The main story may be over, but the legend will continue in our hearts.
This is the way of the *_BIONICLE._*
Literally crying 😭.
Different franchise, but appropriate:
This is the way.
No.. it won't...
The Bionicle community honestly seems bigger than it's been in years currently! And I couldn't be happier about it!
Hearing Gaze as Vakama again made me cry in happiness its like hearing a grandparent telling you a story after years of not having heard one
Wow! That interplay with the Kohli match with Takanuva's fight with Makuta is perfect, and Turaga Vakama, narrating it! Oh, this is a dream come true.
It really highlights how important that scene was. The entire purpose of Teridax fighting Takanuva through a Kohli match was to mock him for thinking he was anything more than just a matoran, while in fact his origins as a matoran made him stronger and ultimately allowed Takanuva to win with his signature move from the tournament. This is also the key difference between him and the Toa Mata- they were never matoran, and thus he was the one needed and the only one capable of defeating Teridax. Such great storytelling and such great editing to bring that out.
@@stegotops7415 really illustrating how the little guys can come out on top, which is probably quite a deliberate shoutout to The Lord of the Rings, since Fellowship came out a year prior and Two Towers came out in 2002, and Return of the King came out only three months later after Mask of Light.
@@joeltrekwars2162And the whole Mask of Light plot is very heavily inspired by LotR, it's essentially just "what if Merry and Pippin were the Ring-bearers instead?" and the Mask is good instead of evil
@@stegotops7415Takua wasn’t just any Matoran… He was an Av-Matoran…. A Matoran of Light, and the Mask of Light was created specifically to fight the Brotherhood of Makuta if they ever went rogue.
@@jimbodeek Yes, I'm aware. Doesn't change that that was Teridax's intention, as Takua did not know his true nature.
Happy 810nicle day 2024 everyone!
Bionicle mask of light 20th anniversary edition on soundtrack is coming to Spotify in september 2023.
Until all are one 🫡

The thing I find funniest about Takua is that the turaga hid the toa stones around the island in such a way that only matoran with a true toa spirit could find, ensuring the next generation of toa would be ready.
And then one dude found all six, basically by accident.
Takua represents completionist gamers, 100% the entire journey.
nothing really happens by accident in BIONICLE
And that one Matoran ended up becoming a Toa himself… a Toa of Light!
I just found this, and now I'm sitting here at 28 years of age crying like a baby. Thank you for making this.
I hope next year they do a song for legends of Metru Nui's anniversary and maybe one about Web of Shadows
I would get mother of all goosebumps if I heard Christopher Gaze recite the tale of toa Lhikan
@@raidenyoung6000 this is a hard cope cos he's kinda a premium name, but Alessandro Juliani coming back as Toa Vakama
Christopher Gaze still kills it as Turaga Vakama
My buddy streamed a preview to me and holy SHIT this is SO FUCKING WORTH IT! We cried like hella it was so nostalgic
What a nostalgia. What a song.
I still missed Bionicle series.
Hearing Christopher Gaze instantly transported me back to my childhood. God it was great
When everything feels dark, a flame long burned out ignites once again, if just for a little bit. A tiny light thrown at us from a distant past, a small present from the days when all was right in the world.
... and for the briefest moment, we felt where we were supposed to be.
My first time hearing this song and it slaps!
So beautiful 😭
UNITY. DUTY. DESTINY.
Mata Nui, this was on godly levels of epicness! Currently 27 years old, still in love in Bionicle ever since they first debuted back in September 2001 when i was 5 years old🥲
I've been listening to the song on repeat all day since the moment it dropped, but oh my GOD, I did NOT expect to hear Christopher Gaze reprising his role as Vakama after all these years. This was a magical experience!
I couldn’t help but cry watching this during the livestream premiere. Had it not been for Mask of Light bringing me into the world Bionicle I probably wouldn’t be part of who I am now. Thanks for this amazing tribute to all those involved. Happy Bionicle Day.
*HO. LY. **_FUCK!!!_* THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I've been listening to the song itself for the last couple hours, but I had no idea how well it could work with the events of MoL! This... This is truly the spirit of Bionicle, right here.
I think this is the best work of art my eyes and ears have ever had the pleasure of experiencing

We do not worship the ashes!
We carry the flame! 🔥🔥🔥
This song is so bopping and fantastic! And the narration at the start was absolutely beautiful! Everything about this video is incredible and props up to everyone involved! 👍🏻👏🏻😀👏🏻👍🏻
fuck man xommin back to this 6 months later it still brings tears to my eyes all the memories flooding back
The fact you got the original voice actor back as well...wow. Amazing work all round.
The nostalgia I felt while watching this video nearly brought me to tears. Fond memories of simpler times... This is an incredible tribute and a banger of a song. Thank you to anyone and everyone who took part in making this video a reality.
The intertwining of the first kolhii match with the Takanuva vs Makuta kolhii match. Amazing.
God I love how passionate this fan base can be
Unity. Duty. Destiny!
Can't get over that transition of Onua going into the Mata Nui stone at 3:48. What a phenomenal achievement for every single person involved
Bionicle as a toy franchise may have ended,
But bionicle as a story, as a community, still goes strong and hard. Love all you nerds
UNITY!
DUTY!
DESTINY!
This brought a tear to my eye
Ever since the time before time, I have always remembered the 3 Virtues of the Great Spirit MataNui: Unity, Duty, and Destiny. This Chronicler will always remember, and will continue to wait until friends can gather again, once more.
To this day, I still wish we could have gotten proper movies of the events before Mask of Light (arrival of the Toa and the Borok) and the events lore-wise taking place afterwards and up to and after Legend Reborn.
The "BURN ALIVE" growl lining up with Tahu's fissure attack is a hard AF edit from Ozkabot, even with the film's dated effects.
Cried, this is beatiful 😢
watching this was just like watching the "move along" music video on the laundromat tv as a kid
BIONICLE IS BACK BABYYYY!!!!!!!
dude, you just got another new sub.
Bionicle nearly forgotten but alive and this gives me hope
Unity

Never forget❤
I already have goosebumps. I'll be back to my childhood again and I'm glad to hear the Cryoshell artist 20 years later. The legend... will never be forgotten.
I’m speechless… this is the most rich and emotional collaboration I’ve ever experienced. Holy crap
The BIONICLE Legends will always be in my Heart ❤
And like that, I'm 12 years old again.
Literal chills down my spine. Bravo team!
Unity. Duty. Destiny.
*"Unity, Duty, and Destiny!"*
Seeing Christopher's name in this video gave me goosebumps. Hearing his voice gave my goosebumps goosebumps. I needed that little bit of nostalgia ❤️
If anyone asks me why I love Bionicle so much, I’m showing them this.
I'm having a hard time holding back tears while watching this. Must have seen it at least two dozen times now. Bionicle was (still is) special to me in ways I cannot properly articulate and I want to say thank you to everyone involved in the making of this video. Thank you for this masterpiece addition to our community. Thank you for keeping the legend of the Bionicle alive well after the run ended. You all rock!
This is gonna be good.
As Above So Below 2:00
Still feels like it was just yesterday...
It's because of work like this that LEGO should and could take notice and begin Bionicle again. I wouldn't mind them restarting with the original Mata, no aesthetic changes, just call it the Bionicle Legacy Series. For two or three years they could focus on re-releasing the Mata, Bohrok, Matoran, and other Rahi.
I hope someone will do another BIONICLE Day tribute with Bionicle Legends of Metru Nui. Would be cool to have a music video like this for the 2nd movie and a 3rd for 2 years time with the legendary Christopher Gaze to narrate it. look forward to the next bionicle day in a few days! cant believe its been so many years since the release of Bionicle
So. Much. Nostalgia.
Bionicle will never be forgotten as long as we keep the legends alive in our memories and hearts.
This video is Amazing. A nostalgic trip to my childhood. Thank you creators & supporters of Bionicle for the happy memories!
Those transitions between characters-
Wow
“20 years ago..There was a time that Takanuva,my mentor defeated the evil Makuta Teridax.”-Tamori.
Who's Tamori
A second Toa of Light.
@@Lemuel928 But there's wasn't ever a second Toa of Light, there was just Takanuva. There was also Tanma in The Kingdom, but that's an alternate universe. There's no records of a "Tamori" in any Bionicle media.

Am I the only mf who teared up at the nostalgia?
Definitely not
I was there to witness it
Tears from the overwhelming emotions
Also haven't seen Cryoshell in ages and I'm loving hearing them again 😊
It’s been far too long since I heard turaga vakama. This hits me far too hard
You must know when you hear “gathered friends..” childhood flashbacks
for 5 minutes and 11 seconds I was back in the mid 00's again
20 years and we are so back.
Unity. Duty. Destiny.
We will never forget these words, their meaning, and above all: the Legend they created
My heart.....! MY HEAAAAAAAAARRRT!!!!❤😭😭❤😭❤😭❤
If we take it in Bionicle retrospective, the song can be interpreted in many ways. For me, I see it as, in the point of view of The Great Spirit, the interpretation of what was going on the minds of Takanuva and Teridax. Of Takanuva, who just realised his Destiny as the 7th Toa but still looking for his reason of being one, his very own Duty. And of Teridax, who believes that it is his Destiny to be a God whilst making his own reasoning that it is his Duty to do so.
All in all, this song goes hard.
The tears are flowing. It warms my heart to know others remember.... And to see Cryoshell reconnected with their origin.... it's so wonderful!
I know right it's like Stan bush and transformers
Love of this series brought Unity to a fandom.
To remind us of it was the Duty of 810NICLE Day.
And it is our Destiny to keep that fire alive.
The amount of nostalgia
Im not crying, youre crying
Absolute beast of a recap/music video! The directing was perfect. All the scenes felt completely in sync with the song, and the transitions were very well thought out. Having Vakama's voice in it, as well as Cryoshell and Essenger, was the icing on the cake.
