A chilling interpretation of Makuta's endgame.
This line gets even better when you remember that, Makuta Teridax was able to set his one thousand year plan in motion because Mata Nui had grown distant of the Universe inside of his body, to the point he was almost completely Ignorant of what was going on in the Matoran Universe.
Mata Nui had become complacent of his status as the Great Spirit and gave the beings inside his own body for granted.
He was playing god, while the paradise of the matoran burned down.
It's even more genius a line when you don't know the lore, it fits the current dystopia we are actually living in. The whole song really, but this line so hits hard when you think of it in a general sense outside of just Bionicle.
"These machines were never built to make things right"
and also if you use this as a metaphor for almost all the politicians in our world today...

After being given BMI implantation, he quickly realized that the New East had been playing God all along. He felt that it was his calling to warn everyone, especially his sister Luna, and tell them all the truth about the current state of the New West.

I'm so glad this finally happened. This would have been perfect for the climax of a Mahri Nui movie. The anger in the lyrics really captures the whole "Why are you still fighting us when everyone is going to die?" situation
This song emanates the very essence of 2000s era, so many memories, so attuned to the time period in which the original game came from.

This screams Reing of Shadows everywhere you look at it, I imagine the screamo parts as the Toa Mahri facing the golden entity, the "a sanctuary burns while you play god" as Helryx meditating, being stuck on Teridax's mind, the "I wont die in here while the world burns down", "the sky obscured and the monsters crawling out" as Tahu and Takanuva fighting against Makuta's servants everywhere. It's perfect, thank for this

My adult life slammed to a halt this morning when I saw the art and heard the music and I immediately went back to when i was 12 with my Mata Nui figure I haven't had nostalgia hit me like this ever in my life, the familiar voices and sounds and art of something long lost came rushing back new and full of life thank you for this
I grew up with Cryoshell, and I'm so glad that I somehow, found this. This, this sort of just... closed a chapter for me.

I was born a bit too late for bionicle, was caught by hero factory though which gives me very similar nostalgia. Safe to say though the pure love and passion bionicle fans have for this franchise has made me a fan myself and I've been checking out alot of the media that's out there for it and have been enjoying it alot.
Also man this early 2000s sound gives me nothing but pure euphoria.

Enlighten me...what has this got to do with a LEGO product?
@@Mox2077 Cryoshell was a band formed in major part thanks to Bionicle, because LEGO wanted more original rock music to help advertise the product. They've continued making music long after Bionicle's end, and a large number of their current fanbase is made up of Bionicle fans that stuck with the band because of how much we loved their music featured alongside the toy line. Essenger is also one of those fans. He's been listening to Cryoshell pretty much since their formation, and getting to collaborate with them is a huge accomplishment for him. It also sorta helped that his second channel where he posts Bionicle-related content has blown up recently, which helped a lot of the Bionicle community find out about his music. So overall, when you combine the band that a ton of people associate with Bionicle, and a fellow who has become really popular in the Bionicle community recently, it's drawn a lot of us to check this out.
@@Mox2077 Cryoshell was the band that made 4 songs for Bionicle (Creeping in my soul, closer to the truth, Gravity hurts and Bye bye babylon) and as I understand they are very close to one of Bionicle's creators, Christian Faber
@@Nerift4832 ah thank you. Ironically I was part of the development team of the interactive material for Bionicle back in the day but left long before Cryoshell was part of the universe so it has completely slipped under my radar.

You know, I only just got into Bionicle a year ago. I just finished the Bionicle story a few days ago, from the quaint island of Mata Nui to the sands of Bara Magna. And I must say... this story completely fucking broke me. It's one of the, if not the most disturbing children's stories I've ever read, maybe even one of the most disturbing stories in general. I know that's really dramatic to say, but it's true.
This may sound cruel of me but... I don't think the legend of the Bionicle will ever truly live no matter how remembered it is... but that never stopped me from giving it the love it deserves. People need to know more about this story. I just wish I... we could call back it's heart.
I feel like I've forgotten why I grew to love Bionicle in the first place. I don't want anything to come between me and my love for Bionicle... I don't want to forget the Matoran, Toa, and Turaga. And even though they're fictional characters... I don't want them to forget me.
But maybe... maybe this song did call back Bionicle's heart after all.

Let me start with the thumbnail poster of the hand holding a city. As above so below literally depicts the flat earth and the firmament. Waters above and below. Locked in your paradise… depicts a closed system such as Earth. The music seems very much inspired from the way Linkin Park composed their music. Even the lyrical progression as well as the vocals. An overall complete package. Beautiful composition. Loved it ❤

Very rarely can a band capture their old sound so perfectly. It's as if you guys reached back in time and pulled an unreleased Cryoshell song from the past. First the Linkin Park Lost Demos and now this. Hell yeah.
This just sent me back to when I was 10 and playing with bionicles in the park with friends! This song is an absolute blessing from the great spirit himself.

There's something about the heroic desperation in these lyrics that applies to every Bionicle year. Mahri Nui is definitely the big one that comes to mind, but I feel like these themes applied to the Great Beings before the Shattering all the way to the very end of the story
