These nice little details really do help give the game more life as well as the lighting & coloring helps give the characters more life within the natural environment of the tropical island of Mata Nui.

The Bionicle game we were promised but was never delivered. Lets hope the Lego company doesn't shut this project down and if they are somehow find out they find a way to support such a passionate project. Keep up the epic work everyone. Take your time and perfect this gem of a game. So far i'm long sold and excited to play this once its officially released.
Lego already know about this game. They had to get LEGOs approval to be able to release it on Steam iirc
I talked to the team on Twitter. They told me LEGO is usually lenient on fan projects. And as long as their not making anything off it lego said its okay.

...we had a couple games with movie releases and they were HARD for a 2000's game..

I love that they brought back Cryoshell for the trailer soundtrack too. I remember they did the Lego trailer music for the 2007-2010 bionicles. This is awesome
I read the press release, massive Kudos to Lego for letting them release this on Steam. Honestly a rare move for Lego. Cant wait to play this.
This is beyond exciting to see, nostalgia hit like a tidal wave, can't wait till the demo is out!
I wonder if we will be able to move through the story too more and find the nuva forms, etc. I’ve seen old builds of the game but man where it can go and what it can do will be so cool.

Dude every aspect of this just hit so hard. The music, the character intros, the red star, the gameplay. Looks amazing and hit me with a nostalgia wave.
I started crying when I saw the red star. I those guys are allowed to continue, maybe at some point we'll see a Voya Nui more accurate than what we got in Bionicle Heores (far too goofy and with too much visorak+bohrok).
Bionicle Mask of Light was incredible to me as a kid, finally being able to see these badass superpowered robots come to life.
This hit me with the biggest nostalgia wave in awhile. This looks unreal.

that chorus at the end, playing behind the demo announcement, those 2 chords have been stuck in my head since playing the mata nui flash game like 20 years ago.
Recreating the original box art poses was such a nice touch, this looks incredible
I continue to be in awe of how exactly it feels like your team understands what is important to me about BIONICLE. Visually, auditorily, the personalities of the characters, everything feels so correct. Incredible work everyone!

Man you guys really captured the essence of what made the old Bionicle trailers great with this, got all the nostalgia vibes in just the right amount.
Pohatu's little ADHD hops made me so very happy.
Even if the game never sees completion, what a trailer that was. Brought me right back. And the Mata Nui adventure game music at the end...

Realising that Essenger’s collab with Cryoshell was for this has just further elevated it beyond its already amazing quality.
Breath of fresh air. An indie gamplay trailer where it's not perpetually dusk, no annoying bloom light effect and all the textures aren't reflective for some reason 😅
“Don’t you feel that it’s too late” was the height imho. The visual of the spinning rahi in the air. Absolutely amazing!
Bionicle is one of the greatest franchises EVER!!!!! Glad to see that I'm not the only one who remembers it, and so happy to see someone doing everything they can to bring the series the revival it deserves.

I adore how "As Above, So Below" sounds like equal parts a call to action for the Toa to fend off the crazed Rahi, and a statement that whatever terrors are unleashed upon Mata Nui, its heroes and its people will always endure.
And the trailer itself, the cinematography and dynamicism, all help sell the feeling of a grand adventure filled with wonder and tension.
The character animation in particular is absolutely choice. Tahu's little flourish and broad sweeping motions, Pohatu's excellent running form, Kopaka's smooth and emotionally detached walk, Lewa practically galloping because he's not as graceful on his feet unless he's jumping or swinging, the sense of weight and power in Onua's swings, and Gali's perfect diving form make them all feel genuinely alive.
It's a demonic phrase
During the line “our sanctuary burns while you play god”, I feel like it was directly talking to Makuta.
@@africanman24 It's also the name of the song itself, and is a phrase specifically used to say that "things that are beyond our scope tend to be similar to things within that scope once you look past the abstraction", like the Greek gods ultimately being men and women just as flawed as any other, even if they were divine in origin.
@@galaxycamerata nevertheless, with the specific phrasing, it's very obvious where this phrase was borrowed from, independent of how it is used by the maker of this song. It is an obvious satanic phrase verbatim.

Another dope detail is the steam erupting from the vents in the pakari. Just like when we first meet him in MNOG

Flooded with memories of the Red Star, the BoM, Artakha, Nynrah... and Tren Krom. This universe had no business going as deep as it did, and I'm so happy Bionicle is making such a deserved comeback.
This is what was happening in my imagination when I opened my first Bionicle toy at 10 years old. Since then I wondered what a AAA videogame adaptation could look like, along with an entire generation of kids my age. I'm 30 now, and here we are. This is incredible work, sign me up 😢

The atmosphere and worldbuilding of 01-03 combined with The nu metal of 05-08? It’s perfect!

Just because its made in the unreal engine doesnt means its gonna be AAA please dont set your hopes to something unreachable by a small team of volounteers. Im saying this for your own good: Recognise the love put into this and Applaud the effort, but if you expect a triple A quality product at the end of this you will only set yourself up for dissapointment.
Rather i think its AA and thats good. Cause no one really makes good AA games nowadays. Its usually indie or AAA

Bionicle came out around the time I was ten. I remember receiving the first issue of the comic with my Lego Mania magazine in the mail, and from that point onward, I was enthralled by the world, the characters, the lore. I bought my first two not long after, Kopaka and Onua.
This trailer takes me back to being ten years old again, and I can't wait to play it and experience their world all over again through a new medium.

bionicle fans always deliver the greatest fan content, I have never seen any other fandom so comited and affectionate towards a franchise that is dead for the company, but alive for them

Growing up, Bionicle had a HUGE impact on me. Seeing this coming about now is bringing all the heavy nostalgia feelings back for a series and toy line that I still cherish to this day (wish they'd make new ones even now x.x). I can't wait to see what more there is to come from this, already loving the trailer for this! So much hype! 💜💚
Its absolutely mind blowing how far this project has come from earliest videos. The animation, the music, combat, and trailer composition is just amazing. Then the Lo-Koro band was just the nostalgia trip that I have been needing for a while! Cannot wait to see more!

This is the first I'd heard of this and I am *absurdly* excited. I've shared it with basically everyone I know. I cannot express how eager I and several of those I shared it with are to play this. We're not expecting AAA levels of quality testing and such, but the *passion* behind this is on full display and we are *here* for it. Thank you, endlessly, to Team Kanaohi.

As someone who was 8 when Bionicle first launched, was disappointed when the Legend of Mata Nui game never came out, and always loved the first season best of the series, this is a dream come true. Excited to try it out! Onua for life, baby.

I started collecting back in 2001, when I was 7yrs old. My friends wouldn’t stop talking about it, with all the lore that came with it, and another friend showed me the online website that had as hooked for an entire day playing it. These weren’t just toys, these were imaginative and compelling stories that captivated a generation.

I missed Bionicle because I was too young, and while I don’t quite get the appeal of it, I know this franchise has some weirdly deep lore that people were really impacted by and I love to see that this is making so many other people happy : )

The frame stop when you hit enemy seems a bit too wooden to me, but besides that it looks perfect. I can't describe how much respect and gratitude I have for you guys
It's usually intentional to show the impact of heavy hits (monster hunter did it a lot with greatsword hits) but yeah it seems to do it on lighter attacks to making it look a bit odd.
@@BlaizeTheDragon Yeah but something about it feels off here. Before I realised what it was I thought the game had some framerate issues that needed ironing out.

Damn guys. Bionicle nerd in me woke up from its slumber. I am listening to Bionicle songs, I bought old collection I had to leave behind as a kid, re-learning Bionicle alphabet, reading lore again. Can't wait for this game, Bionicle was truly and is still something else. I loved it as a kid, now I appreciate it even more as an adult. Feels like coming home.

Absolutely incredible! I am feeling all the feels right now. They actually got Cryoshell do do anew Bionicle song for this fan game and wow the new gameplay looks phenomenal, especially for my favorite Toa, Onua. It's too bad we still have to wait until next year for the femo but I can tell it will be worth the wait.
