I had a 2012 StreetGlide CVO, I had the same issue with the pannier lids coming open, I blamed it on the weight of the speakers in the lids, I found if I kept them locked it solved the problem, glad to see you out and about again

My philosophy is if the bike is clean and shiny you aren't riding enough and wasting time polishing. I'm proud of you, riding through the muddy water holes.
