Love the RKS. I got a 2021 but first upgrade I did was change out bars to 16” apes. Way more comfortable than the factory bars. Harley’s nicest bagger in my opinion nice and clean without a fairing up front
I’m an old school Road King rider. I tried a RK Special didn’t care for its blacked out appearance, no windshield, or the extended bags. The styling does nothing for a 3 time Road King buyer. Now that they don’t offering any Road King other than the Special and the next close bike to the Road King standard is the RK Police so I bought a 2023 Police vivid black. Love it!
Had mine since 2019, colour is twisted cherry and love the 114 stage 1. Wont ever sell it!.😀 Happy new year to ya when it arrives.🎉 Safe rides mate 🤙🍻🥂
My one try with an M8 in a Limited showed me it's not for me. My 2007 Road King Custom with the 96 Twin Cam is definitely my jam. Love my RK - to me they are rhe best bike in the lineup.
Not sure if you guys on the other side of the road have the New 135 motor option? But thats the way I would go. Legend rear air is what I have it offers the most options when it comes to ajustability. Keep the round side down. Great Video.
Hi Martin. You need to try the st leger chapter iron horse rally ( 2 weeks after the cider rally). Held at havens blue dolphin site near Scarborough. Awesome venue and hoping to push some where near 500 attendees in 2024 😁
I have the 23 RKS. Exactly the same vivid black. Great bike. I am loving it. The stock handlebars, however are absolut crap. It is fine for an hour or so, but then it's torture. The seat is ok. Nevertheless I've swaped it to saddleman, but the stock is ok, even for longer trips. One warning: I am 6 2 and I very much felt crammed. I changed the rear brake (Kuryakyn, but Softbrake is apparently also great), installed highway pegs and floorboard extensions. With the new KST Kustoms handlebars now it's perfect....:-)
Iam 6,2 also. How high did you go? I heard till 12” you have only need extend the wiring with a set. Till 14”you also need to swap out the clutch cable. What did you choose?
@@Dirk1961-l7y Hi. I went for the 12" one. I don't like my arms stretched out, so I pulled the handlebars back as much as possible. It works just fine. Nevertheless, you might want to consider the 14" if you like your hands a bit higher up. Clutch cable - indeed KST says the stock clutch cable is fine with the 12". This is NOT true! You must get the clutch cable extension even for the 12"!
It is almost my story. I just bought a lightly used ‘23 RKS and put a 14” gangsterr ape myself (i sit with my hands below my elbows), Saddlemen SDC pro, ext. brakepedal, and a “AdvanBlack” clutch thing! The HD windsplitter and SE Streetcannons where still on it! I love it now!
That’s exactly the point and a big reason I own one. I don’t want to be the 50th street glide rolling up to bike night. And I don’t care for the look of either fairing style
British B and C roads are very narrow constructed when a Anglia met a Citroën 2CV.... Nothing for vintage cadillacs.... With a Motorbike is it way more room
@@FenTour one of the funniest movies I ever seen was crocodile Dundee when he came to America and he went to New York and he had that limo driver driving him around and he yelled out and said: you're driving on the wrong side of the road you dummy! Because in Australia obviously they drive on the same side of the road as they do in England. One of the funniest scenes in the history of film. That's why if an American goes to England or Australia they have to be very careful for the first year when they're driving and of course the same goes in the opposite if you guys come here you have to drive slowly until you get used to the roads.
@@roadking681 haha as soon as we drive in Europe or the USA we have no issues. It only you guys that have trouble! Haha. Yes that film is a classic. Cheers.
RKS is awesome but the fact that its made in thailand is a deal breaker for me along with the m8 motors plastic intake manifold and lifter cuffs. Fakin moco cutting corners every way possible but still continues to inflate price. Fuk that. Rather buy something else

Good you are enjoying the RKS, and good that you have gone for the Apes too. :-)

Not getting one myself, but it is one superb beast!
Great vid, some 14” bars would make it so much more comfortable. It’s a great bike!
Indeed the bigger bars are a good call.
That’s a good looking motorcycle. A shame they discontinued the original Road King.
harley have consolidated their models in recent times, but regardless I far prefer the looks of the Special personally. thank you for watching
I like this Road King a lot. Hope the chrome option is coming
Check the configuration for 2025? Personally prefer it nice and black. Cheers.

The best model Harley has made in my opinion. Although my favorite package, the standard, they stopped making.

Indeed once can go with the 135 crate in this, or for 1/2 the price the 131 conversion (as I have) Cheers for commenting and watching.

Cheers Dave, I am already booked in and have a caravan reserved. Can’t wait. 👍👍
Awesome. See you there😊

I ve been meaning to buy the road king but do you guys know why it has 2 fuel caps ? Does it have 2 seperate tanks or what ?
Left hand is a fuel gauge, right hand is the fuel cap.
@@davidgilding3549 ah that make so much sense, thx for the reply :D
You may notice that I was low on fuel, the fuel gauge is in the left hand cap! just one talk to fill.... Cheers
Is there a diesel option available yet ?
I could expect no less of a comment! Haha
Good video Martyn.
Cheers Ian
2023 Road King Special cost £30.000,00 here in the netherlands😮
Ouch!
Congrats man, That's a beautiful bike but the fact that it's assembled in thaiand is putting me off. What's your thought about harleys made in thai?
These M8 bikes all are pretty robust it seems.

Nothing but a Street Glide without a faring😉
It is indeed…
But yet handles so much better, without the weight
Indeed, it felt a lot more nimble than a Glide@@charliegraham7708
