I've been flyfishing and tying my own flies for most of my life and I'm 49 yrs old I've been going to hana maui since 1992 evey year and fly fishing and catching ulua, omilu, oio, moi,aha huggies, and other reef fish all on flies i tie. everyone thought i was crazy fly fishing cliffs and rough water until i started catching ulua haha. i highly recommend trying to flyfishing instead of putting flies on a whipping pole with heavy weight or a hammer bomb. (it can work but) they fish WAY better on a fly rod.
You mentioned adding "glow" powder to the clear fingernail polish... Interesting, never thought of that. Would you consider doing a video where you do that and show the results ? Go into how and why you use the clear polish on your flys. I remember over 50 years ago my father-in-law in Hilo ordering glow in the dark powder from someplace, mixing it with some kind of plastic and baking it in the oven. He then used a straight razor to cut these homemade "glitter strips" to use while menpachi fishing. Yes, always interested in how different people tye their flys. :)
