    Unless you are aiming to sell it in the States I'd put all those good parts in a storage "bank" and get some serious money for them in a few more years.

  • @scottcowan6798

    It goes without saying that an accident damage car will be worth considerably less.. plus no warranty.. hence I reckon you’ll do well to break even. I hope I’m wrong.. because this could be a great series of episodes to watch! Good luck!!

    • @th3b0untyhunter
      @th3b0untyhunter ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct.
      Usually in the UK a car with adverse history when repaired is worth anything from 25-40% less than an equivalent example - dependent on how bad damage was.
      So on this probably worth about a third less than a decent example.
      However don't forget the parts prices listed were new not secondhand prices.

    If I'm not mistaken, any structural damage on the rear chassis is unrepairable because of the type of composite material Ferrari used. It can't be welded. That's what several Ferrari mecanics have told me. You should check that out just to make sure.

  • @LifeatSpeed

    Good luck on bringing this one back to life! I'll definitely be following the progress on this. The 430 Scuderia is one of my all time favorite Ferraris and I had hoped it was going to be my first, but like you said, in the US prices have skyrocketed! So instead of buying a 430 Scuderia, I purchased a 2012 458 Italia instead and so far absolutely love it!

    • @Ratarossa

    • @LifeatSpeed
      @LifeatSpeed ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ratarossa thanks! It's truly an amazing Ferrari and I highly recommend it. I discovered through my search for my first Ferrari a lot of people cross shopped the 430 Scuderia and 458 Italia. The 458 is a bit more refined for daily driving compared to the Scuderia and the interior has a huge leap in design and unfortunately less analog. I think the main thing for the owner of the Scuderia looking at the 458 as a replacement would be to find one with the carbon fiber race seats instead of the electric seats. I really lucked out on mine being a CPO from a local Ferrari dealership and a one owner.

    Too late now, I'm sure, but a tire pulled away from the stem like that can be reinflated by taking the weight off to shift the tire bead closer to the stem and use a ratchet strap around the circumference to compress and flare the bead against the wheel to get the tire to seal well enough for a high volume compressed air source to inflate it. If you have a good enough air source, it doesn't need to be seated fully and mostly just nearest the stem. Obviously, just get it seated, then remove the strap before full inflation. I've done it a fair number of times on various tires (though nothing that wide and low profile), so it should work.

    Step 1.1 Sort out a larger garage!! Love your garage but I can't imagine doing all this work in your current confines. Any plans on finding a larger space for you to work out of. Not as big as Freddie's but still something bigger!?

    That’s a brave purchase, Scott but it sounds like you could be onto a winner if you don’t find anything absolutely horrendous! Best of luck!

    I'm sure that you figured out the issue you were having in the last clip. but if not I would guess that this car has an "Inertia Switch" which probably killed the fuel pump after the accident, if so all she'd need is a reset
