I've been watching his car reviews for nearly 20 years and he still remains my all time fav in the industry. A true race car driver and a legit gear head! As for the F40, they look absolutely stunning to this day!
I like that Tiff has aged gracefully and not pumped himself full of botox. Someone who knows what he's talking about and can drive, glad to see he's still about.
Thanks Tiff! I remember as an 11 year old buying a BBURAGO scale 1:18 detailed model of the F40 and was in awe of its lines, proportions and its sheer beauty. What a way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ferrari!
Way back in the early 90’s I was driving down the A34 towards Southampton, driving very fast in the early evening dark, when I saw a pair of headlights in my mirrors, approaching very fast. Given that I was doing 100+ in a 70, I naturally assumed it was a police car and slowed down. An F40 went past me like I was standing still. After the relief of finding it was not a police car I put my foot down and tried to catch up. As we came to the roundabout where the A34 and the M4 meet, the F40 was held up in traffic and I arrived behind it. When the F40 reached the front of the queue I looked to my right to see when there would be a gap. There was a sudden very loud engine noise and when I looked back to the front the F40 had disappeared. The car approaching from my right was braking hard and sounding his horn. The car driver in front of him had not even seen the F40 accelerate through the gap between him and the car behind, so got out to yell at the driver and ask him why he was so angry. Even today I don’t think I have ever seen a car accelerate so fast from a standing start. Wonderful and I didn’t manage to catch it again, despite trying.
I think its a really good way of talking about the cars, having Tiff drive and the dealer/expert sitting in the passenger seat beside him. Well done Tiff and James. I know its probably not a thing that will ever happen, but I'd love to get a look around the DK showrooms someday, I can only imagine some of the gems sitting in there.
Driving down the A3 one balmy summers evening in the mid 90's and a guy in an F40 pulled along side me in the middle lane - obviously I was ogling all that beautiful Kevlar - he looked across, grinned, waved, dropped it a gear, gave it some gas, and disappeared off up the road with a roar and a whistle. Happy days!
Hi Tiff, Great video I never get tired of looking at an F40 timeless classic thank you for another great video. You said it "The greatest Ferrari of all time"
The F40 is the greatest car of all time IMO. I love it, its timeless. Mad to see it costs as much for a good one now as the new modern Hyper cars i build for now cost today. Thanks for that Tiff, you sir are a legend.
A high mileage one is way better because you know you can drive it without leaking oil and coolant everywhere! These beautiful machines were made to be driven!
I first saw an F40 driving on the road over thirty years ago. Technology has improved a bit since then but they are still and always will be an amazing car.
Brilliant.. I have been around these cars a bit, one thing that shocked me was on a visit with Bob Norwood in Texas, (lovely guy) I had to hold the rear clam open while he did something, a lot heavier than i thought it would be. Have polished and Vapour blasted a number of f40 bits, and seen friends rebuild one after an accident. They really are a breed apart from other cars in their time.
Fantastic video of a fantastic car. Was 13 when this car came out and have drooled over it ever since. Best car ever built in my opinion. Was the peak of the simple era. Gadgets and electrics crept in after the f40 and nothing has ever felt raw after that. Two cars I’d buy if money was no object. F40 and lancia intergrale
i love this guy truely one of us and he brought us so many good videos with cars i watched him when i was a child and i still watch every of his videos when im 30
F40 is one of those cars where the model year and spec you buy REALLY matters. If you want ultimate raw performance, the early cars with Lexan sliding windows, more power, less weight etc are purist machines. Whereas the late model cars are a bit better screwed together, glass windows and extra weight but feel a bit more civilized if that's possible with something like an F40.
I am 50. My all time best cars are F40 and F50 by looks and manuals alone! Today there is no Ferrari in production that I lust after as much as next best car - Testarossa
A very wealthy friend of mine had an F40, brand new, I think in 1988 if memory serves. He had all the money but no idea, bless him!!! He took race driving lessons from an instructor, thinking he was the next Mansell, but never got anywhere, just didn't have the ability. He blamed the F40 though, so to my amazement told me he was going to sell it and buy either a 348 or 355, I don't recall which, and accepted he would take a loss on the F40!!!! I told him he must be mad, because I knew the F40 would become an extremely valuable icon, but he told me I didn't know anything about the super car market and that the F40 was becoming out of date and would be difficult to sell!!! I really tried very hard to change his mind but he wouldn't have it! Wonder which he'd rather have now?! We don't see much of each other now and he hates to be reminded of his stupidity, much to my amusement and delight!! He's become even wealthier now though, so he can take comfort in having several garages full of supercars to take his mind off that very bad decision!
When you can pick your favourite F40 from your personal experience of many examples, you really do know your potatoes! Fascinating hearing his thoughts and views on such an iconic classic.
This guy can baldly (wow, what a word) wake up every morning - and loudly (jesus the words) say to himself in the mirror: Yeah. I still got it. And he won't be lying. Tiff is one of the greats of the automotive journalism - even in an era of "everyone knows - and can publicly - publish - everything". Well done, Tiff - here's to many more years of "gotting it", or whatever it's called. A new subscriber to the channel from Latvia.
A good few years ago i worked in Guildford, next to the dual carriageway 'hogs back' stood outside early on a saturday morning, i could hear this beast of a car ripping along well above the limit, when suddenly a gleaming F40 upchanged emitting a 3-4ft flame out off its extremely loud sports exhaust , still a vivid memory after all these years 💯💯😎👍
That perfect intro shows you why Tiff is still at the top of his game. I'll never even see one of these cars in the flesh, but that was very interesting. I guess one reason for the erratic jumps in price is due to the sale of cars not attracting tax ( their a chattel ), and so they are seen as an investment asset. As interest rates fell after the GFC, after a pause, prices began to climb ...
Well done TIff and be big thanks to James for letting this happen! James seems such a nice guy, and its fascinating to hear of all his knowledge on these cars. James and his company are in a different league compared to another supercar “deal maker” outfit!
I had a client back in 2008 that had a delivery mileage F40 with all the plastic still on the car. He sold it for over one million dollars, I believe it was the first to set that bench mark.
My favourite reviewer with my favourite Ferrari. I was lucky to see this at the '87 motor show when I was young. I queued up for ages just to get near it, The only thing that took my eyes off it was the Sierra cosworth hanging from the ceiling 😂
In all my years, I've only ever seen one on the road and it was about a fortnight ago in Brasted in Kent. I was going the other way on a motorcycle, sat quite high and it did look absolutely fantastic.
There is one in a barn down the road from me (with lots of other cars including a Mini Cooper S 😂) It gets driven but the owner is getting old now, so not as much as he used to drive it.
This was the best they ever did it and they've been chasing the dragon ever since. I don't know why more manufacturers didn't get the memo of take a tiny lightweight chassis and stuff a giant engine in it and wrap it in beautiful bodywork.
The analogue animal to me the last proper FERRARI I was taken out in one in 1990 and the acceleration from the passenger seat was absolutely phenomenal totally mind blowing how fast the car behind disappeared
If you have a left hand drive car, then you need a left hand drive watch, so very glad to see James's LH GMT Master Sprite. Not a bad car the F40 either :))
Simply the best looking car of all time, and that is what I thought as a kid back in 1990! Had never seen one in the flesh until 2017 on Gower St in London and couldn’t believe my eyes
An F40 and Tiff... that was an easy decision to click!
Indeed. Same here.
Fuck you are old now TN
Indeed! I saw the title and prepared to fist myself. So glad to see your comment!👍
Copy that!!
The F40 has to be one of the best cars ever made and is in my top five.
Tiff is such a professional. Legendary and unmistakable
And also iconic since PS1 days.
I've been watching his car reviews for nearly 20 years and he still remains my all time fav in the industry. A true race car driver and a legit gear head! As for the F40, they look absolutely stunning to this day!
Along with 330 p4, F2007, 248F1, Dino 246 GTS, along with F333SP.
Gear head 😂😂 that always makes me smile
Its really nice. Spose what dont like is didnt make more
Tiff is the most underrated presenter i can think of. Respect.
Carhuna, look after him please. Great, subtle, informative video. Keep it up.
love this comment ,Tiff is a legend
His ability to drive at the limit is entertaining
Underrated? By whom? Pretty much universally regarded as one of the best.
There is no way Tiff has ever been underrated! 😂
Why is everything and everyone underrated these days 🙄
I like that Tiff has aged gracefully and not pumped himself full of botox. Someone who knows what he's talking about and can drive, glad to see he's still about.

Same here, and I've still got it. As well as a contemporary F40 beach towel.
Same! Got mine in ‘89 and still have it 😃
I was born in 1990, Tiff and F40 brings me back to my early days
you make it sound like you are 90 years old you utter bosom
Enzo had no input on this car, he just gave his blessing.
In fact Enzo had no say in Ferrari road cars since 1971
@SinclairPancake really? I wonder why he requested certain things such as power, speed, handling, etc....
@@tommyfreckmann6857 folklore
Enzo had so many stipulations about road cars right up to and including the F40. No idea where you got that idea from.

Tiff is a legend! Have him on all the time. And maybe Martin Brundleas well? True old school carguys no BS!🎉❤
57seconds in and paused it to say that Tiff is simply the best.
F40 will always be my GOAT
Mine too, absolutely love the F40.
Right there with you! F40 forever
Yes, Amen, And - Especially Those with no cat. Amen.
I am here for Tiff Needell 🙌🏼
Hi Tiff, Great video I never get tired of looking at an F40 timeless classic thank you for another great video. You said it "The greatest Ferrari of all time"

The shape is still unbelievably 'good looking' if not outright beautiful. Born 1977 it's still as amazing today to when I was 13 or so
@Renegade-g2w yeh. It’s when we’re 7-13 age must be what’s epic cool then
A high mileage one is way better because you know you can drive it without leaking oil and coolant everywhere! These beautiful machines were made to be driven!
Yes, And It Absolutely Needs 2 B Without that dumb + shitty cat.
beautiful, just beautiful
please more videos with Tiff and old cars
best comment on here SimplyFunny ,i agree 100000 percent

I print the DK brochures and drool over the cars every time 🤤
What a well spoken young fella ,impressed with James ,seems like a real nice down to earth guy
I thought the same. Inspiring to see that not all the younger generation have purple hair and piercings

You do realise punctuation comes directly after the last letter not directly before the next word.
I think I'd have died and gone to heaven to spot an F40 jus trundling along the road. Fab to see both Tiff & the F40!
Tiff looks so entertained behind the steering wheel, doesn't even need a radio :)
Ultimate poster car, what a machine.
Tiff, an F40. Two legends reunite!
£1m less for a 'high' mileage example! 😂I think these things should be driven, not hoarded! Life is short people! The hearse won't tow it!
Tiff and a f40.. i dont need to watch it to know this will be awesome.. Tiff you are the drift god x cheers Gilly
What happened.. no drifts 🥶
The car is too rare and expensive for that shit.

Aha so DK are a founding partner of Carhuna? Good show! I saw these guys somewhere else, now convinced they are very good fellows. Great video here.
The best “mother off all supercar” my all time hero and one to have in my personal perception
Tiff is the best. No one else comes close to presenting and driving cars.

Saw an F40 for the first time earlier this year in a museum in Germany. Utterly fabulous!
Tiff is one of the best, I just wish he’d review the cars my himself
i love this guy

Hi from Pattaya!
🇹🇭
super car and super driver Tiff 🎉❤
Most beautiful supercar ever made! The design has only gotten better with age.
The F40 is beautiful, nothing more than what is required for a driving experience, not overpowered, nothing that is not required.
Driving perfection
Saw Tiff and F40.. never clicked faster.. The 2 best motoring things to see and listen to togheter 💯👌
Tiff has to narrate car history PERIOD
Which period of car history?
I am 50. My all time best cars are F40 and F50 by looks and manuals alone! Today there is no Ferrari in production that I lust after as much as next best car - Testarossa
