just started watching. during covid we sanded our cabinet down and then painted them. a lot of work but so worth the time and trouble. they look amazing. now I will finish watching.

Wow, love that cabinet color! I think a battery operated wall light over the window, lighting up the sink would look great, maybe with a metal shade that mirrors the hardware on the cabinets? A patterned large rug would look great between the island & cabinets would totally bring it all together! Nice job!
I did consider a light above the sink, but the space between the top of the window frame and the ceiling is small so it looked very crammed. We also do have a recessed light right above the sink so that lights it up! Thank you for watching!! ☺️🖤
My favorite part is your patience detailing the doors to paint them, you inspired me and gave me the encouragement to do that with my kitchen doors because I'm upgrading my kitchen 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼💪🏻💖 plus your kitchen looks so beautiful!!! Love it!!💖

Wow! It was totally worth the effort and time you put in it! My favourite part was the contact paper as well. The only thing missing is some kind of wall decoration above the shiplap!
Thank you so much! The contact paper is definitely a great option if you can’t replace the counter top. I do plan to put something above the shiplap, but I didn’t love anything I considered, so I didn’t want to just put something up for the sake of it. 😊😊

The contact paper is definitely easier to put on with a second person so you can smooth the paper as they pull it! I also pulled it right over the sink the second time and trimmed it out so it looked nicer. Thank you for watching and the kind words! 🤗
Love everything you did! Especially the contact paper counter tops, that was the biggest impact piece. I’m looking to do my kitchen and hate the thought of the grain look through the paint, but not sure I have the patience for the grain filler.

I am so glad I ran across your channel. We have started thinking about remodeling our Kitchen (and baths) in our premanufacture home. We basically have the same cabinets as you. I was so impressed with what you did in your video, your kitchen turned out absolutely amazing and looks very much like what I hope to achieve. It definitely made me realize that the work and steps involved to make it look like this are not going to be a quick weekend job like so many other videos had me believing.We are now thinking that perhaps we are better off redesigning and fixing a few things we hate about the kitchen layout and going with new cabinets . It seems like some of the off the shelf options at some of the big box store are not horribly priced. Love your channel, thank you

Absolutely beautiful! The window trim makes a HUGE difference! My husband built and installed similar craftsman style trim around all of our windows and it just makes them look more grand and finished. Where did you get the piece that’s sitting on your counter to the left of your stove (holding the jars and cutting boards)?
Nice job! I thought it was nice prior to your work. But new the paint and island really is a nice touch. I know it was painstaking, but I know every time you walk your kitchen, you say, “It was so worth it.”

Your kitchen looks great! I love the look of the contact paper counter top. One tip, the 2" blinds are very easy to shorten, and you won't have the "stack" at the bottom.
@@LoveourLord24 on the bottom rail are some little plugs that pop out. Remove the bottom rail and then you can slide out each individual slat. Take your time and inspect how they are put together--you don't want to cut it too short or not be able to get it back together. I'm sure there are TH-cam videos on how to do it!
Wow! The second contact paper looks better! I was going to suggest installing under the cabinet lights to get rid of the blue tone, but the switch is so much better! I have wanted to paint my oak cabinets for ages, I have the paint that needs no priming or sanding, and paid outrageous amount for the gallon. It's still in the garage sitting and I don't even know how many years it has been.
We were definitely thinking the same way because my first thought was lighting to neutralize the counters! Even just painting cabinets without all the extra stuff can be a lot of work, so I totally get it! Thank you for watching 🖤
It looks amazing! you did a great job. I used the same contact paper for my kitchen, I managed to finish putting it down but it was difficult not to have air bubbles on it. I also painted the cabinets just like you did, but did not used the wood filling, It was too much work and they came out fine. My total renovation cost around $200 but it looks amazing and it will give me some time for me before I can really replace the counter tops with Quartz. You did a very professional job and I admire you for it. 💓
