I said this every time someone says "You need to update your drivers"
When I assembled my first PC, I didn't even know what a driver was. I just installed CDs that came with the components because it seemed important and I played with it for years completely unaware of drivers.
"People going to people to fix graphic issues..." Literally made me spit my soda out I can't believe I actually heard that. Never once have I went to best buy and was like "Yeah bro, dude I have no clue but it's stuck at 720p and I am not good at math so I brought it to you guys".
Oh no, he also has a video from 2 years earlier on how consoles are low maintenance because you have to blow dust out of your PC every so often and apparently you have to fix components yourself. Any-who...
If you're on PC, and you experience any loading issues, all you need to fix it, is a trusty roofing hammer.

I do think the driver stigma is still a thing due to Nvidia's marketing. "How your performance improve when you installed the newest driver with the optimizations included." With a graph showing that's somewhat a few frames.
Well okay to be fair there is one setting you have to change everytime on PC that you dont have to change on console and that is MOTION BLUR idk why game devs have this enabled by default i have not loaded a single game that doesnt have it on by default and on console you dont have that issue because there's no option to remove it 90% of the time
Motion blur is cancer everyone who use motion blur and talk it good deserves a good place in hell.
The consoles have motion blur on by default to hide bad textures but yes I turn it off, make sure I'm at 4k and turn off dof on every game.

That is why I repsect You and Your work. I'm a primarilly PC guy my self but up until launch of PS5/XSXS I had all major and most minor consoles, becasue I'm a gamer since 1988. I love this hobby. Even now, when I mostly play on PC, my PS4 is getting a Bloodborne treatment every now and then, my 360 is still waiting to launch Lost Odyssey which I always wanted to play but every time something came up and interupted it and my Vita is my emu paradise machine. But I disspise every glimpse of fanboism - no matter the platform. As such - PCMR "elitists" are no different than other corpo tamed idiots. You dont give handicap to enyone just because they share the same platform. Big respect and ups for that.

I was a console gamer all the way back to the late 1980's on the NES and even I know how to build a computer, because I researched it and learned.
His whole notion is flat out bullshit and wrong. But what can you expect from console corporate slave peasants who enjoy whatever bit of plastic the corporation gives them. They don't have any inherent form of thinking, they just gleefully bend over and pull out their wallet while they get reamed from behind by said corporate overlords.
And yes I don't consider him a PC gamer, a wolf's in sheeps clothing would fit him more.
Since when do we "HAVE" to adjust options? They are by defenition Optional. Also if you are very lazy like me you can use GeForce Experience or whatever AMD's virsion is called to pick the best settings, or... some games have hardware ditection or.. just use the presets?

Too be fair, it seems a lot of console fanboys also think they can't understand settings.
What is your pc build? Or, what do you recommend for a $900 PC build if I'm going to be using it for single-player, mostly offline games? And you should give us a playlist of your favorite songs.

Definitely a new 13th gen i3 or ryzen 5000 4 core, and rx 6600 or 6600xt for great 1080p at $900 (though you could probably get 3060ti or 6700xt in that budget).
I wonder what exactly gives these people the idea that because you can have thousands of combinations of parts that there are going to be the same amount of variety to the issues, every human is a combinations of different genetics, does that mean medicine is unique to every single person?

I shall be able to prove or falsify his first point. Come Sunday my pc should be built and setup ready to play. I’ve been on Xbox since we had pagers😂 and now I’m jumping to pc. Sick of fomo and more fomo of fps. So spent the ££££ for 4080 and accoutrements to go with.
Series x going back in its box for GTA. Not selling it.

@@Raven.Bloodrot how’s my experience you ask. Cyberpunk is my favourite game on pc just as it was on X but now it looks and runs amazing. Got the pc on LG OLED C10 so I’m capped to 120fps but that’s enough. I miss one thing from Xbox….quick resume, like turning box on and be back in game in less than 20 seconds(feels faster to me). That all I miss. Still got gamepass for now.
I’ve had zero problems getting this thing updated and running. Although I have some weirdness on Xbox app. It only d/loads at 6mb. My broadband is 💩 56mb, steam uses the full speed but Xbox won’t. I’ve had BT out to check lines. It’s same on my old dell g5 laptop.
To sum up. Xbox won’t be used by myself going forward but the pc will. Love it.
