me again.. sooooo, im going to put this out there, but if you get a chance, get a simple blood test called A1C as that measures the average blood sugar over the last 3 months. you dont have to fast for it, but it tells you if you are pre diabetic or even diabetic. i never got one, looked back at all my and my hubby’s blood tests. they only do fasting glucose which doesnt tell if we are in trouble. but skin tags, etc, are a result of skin issues from heading toward diabetes. the hubby and i were both in the pre diabetic range. sooo, we simply cut the carbs some, not out, just cut back and they came down. so, its out of love for you two that i bring this up. :-)
Me and my then 4yr old granddaughter stayed in Aulani back in 2011 and the Luau was phenomenal although included in our stay did not include the buffet. We are planning on going back in 2024 this time with both granddaughters 14 & 17 and I just know they will love this Luau, for her and I just as much. Thank you so much for posting this enjoyable and informative video - Aloha

Aloha Bill and Lisa: Your adventure to the ABC store’s hot food counter got to me - a new twist to the old Okazaya deli. I am stay=raving seeing all the goodies and poki. The Luau was a great adventure to see - glad to see you having a grand, and yummy, time. I like the “Primo” shirt, which matched well with the Kuikui nut lei, bringing back the days when it was “Da Beer” in Hawaii. The white fish could be Mahi-mahi. Disney did produce a great Luau for the guest to enjoy. Looking forward to the next vlog. Much Aloha and 🧧! Mahalo nui Loa!

Agreed! Hawaii is a beautiful gorgeous place. I have been there before. The luau wasn’t that much fun in the old days, and the food wasn’t that great. Now after the pandemic prices went through the roof so at $178.00 the food especially the prime rib looks great 👍. Hawaii is a wonderful retirement home for seniors. It is better than Florida. Unfortunately, it’s too far away from certain parts of the mainland.

I used to work at Marriott’s Ko ʻOlina Beach Club on Lagoon 3, and I would buy lunch at that ABC Store before work. Their food is so delicious!
Wish we had this ABC near us, or any ABC store for that matter. lol

Hi Bill and Lisa, Shirley here. Great video. We’re at the Aulani now. Went to the luau on Saturday and it was so spectacular. And I agree, the food was amazing. I loved the prime rib and the mashed sweet potatoes especially. Our room overlooks the luau gardens so we sat out on the balcony and watched the luau again tonight. Can’t get enough of a good thing!

Spectacular vlog of your stay at Aulani with the family. It's great how you guys highlight other food options nearby as well as in the resort.
I was very impressed how skillful Lisa held on the 2 plates with one hand at the buffet and still able to scoop the food into Bill's plate. I remembered the good old days being a waitress and carrying 3 plates of food like Lisa. Rocking skill for life 😂

I guess I'll have to take my family there sometime in the future. I had no idea the ABC Store had such an assortment of food choices. I've been to that same store, but I don't remember that. I work atKoolina golf Club who are responsible for that sign. I also used to work at Aulani a very nice resort. A co worker at the golf club also dances at the luau and I saw him in your review. Happy Holidays and great review 👍🏽

I will experience a luau, too. I've been to the island thrice and never seen a luau. There just wasn't enough time to partake of one. Too much else on the plate! 😄

Hello Bill and Lisa and family! I’m binge watching Hawaii vlogs, been feeling under the weather this week. But I get Christmas and New Years Off!!! Wow! I thought Aulani was catering mostly to families and their small kids…but from seeing the Luau festivities it is definitely Disney top notch style! Look at all the food options at ABC store…there is another place I was looking at last year the Turtle Resort something but they were booked also. Thanks for sharing! 2023 Christmas would be festive in Hawaii. Hope the whole family has a wonderful Christmas week!

ABC stores are the best convenient stores on the planet.
Costco sells those furikake shrimp chips in a huge bag...not easy to bring home since it's so bulky, weighs nothing.
Try a small tub of Hanalei poi. It's delicious plain. I think they paturize it so it always tastes fresh and keeps longer. It's not cheap, but so good.
Ooooo man! Lilikoi juice direct from tree is one of my favorite juices. I got a breakfast buffet every day (pre-covid visit), and everyone local and who worked there would comment "Great first plate" hehe.

That's the most impressive food selection I've seen in an ABC Store. I thought the pineapple spears were giant shrimp tempura. 20:04 is one of my golden rules. I delayed watching this video so I can watch along eating my pork chop and rice.

Hey, If you're still around and heading out for a drive of the Island, you should stop by Paalaa Kai Bakery and Store in Waialua. This is a MUST DO. Pick up some lunch/dessert and head over to a nearby Beach Park. Bakery makes delicious "Snow Puffy's" and Store offers the BEST Take-Out Fried Chicken!!! They also sell Rice Balls....Have Fun!!!
