You guys are such fun! I love Waikiki. Yes, it's a tourist trap, but it's so much fun playing tourists once in awhile. We stay close to the center and walk all the way to Ala Moana on some days. With parking at $30 a day, forget renting a car! Everything you need is within walking distance.

@@holyshnikees1684 Actually, we do need visitors right now. I live on Maui and tourism supports our economy. The west side (Lahaina) is closed and visitors should respect that by not going on that side. However, the rest of Maui is open for business and hurting for tourists right now. Especially Kihei and Wailea, which are very dependent on tourism.
@@mauisonso I guess they’re trying to support Hawaii’s economy by eating at TWO buffets, eating soft serve icecream, shave ice, spam musubi, and a poke bowl all on the same day. 😂🤣😂

Island Vintage Shave Ice was my favourite when we stayed in Waikiki for 2 weeks! Had it at least once a day!
How much fun. What a beautiful place. Looking out over the ocean, seeing the waves roll in, I could hear the big aloha. I loved the shave ice stand. The Poke bowls. Sooo much to see and do. My personal opinion. The luau is very expensive. You could do it once to try it out. To me the food should/could be better quality for what you pay. No matter what you do in Hawaii it’s going to be beautiful just hopefully not so expensive.

When I was in Hawaii (Waikiki Beach) I shopped at the ABC Store on a daily lol

We went to Hawaii for our fortieth anniversary and puddle hopped from Waikiki to the Big Island and Maui. And every resort did not have a Luau. So, it's nice to see one and I've watched your other videos with luau. Now I want to go back. LOL. Thanx for sharing and safe travels.

I am an avid watcher of your channel. My family and I were recently at Disney and Universal Studios. I thought how cool it would be if I were to run into you there. That didn't happen but as I was loading onto a ride in Harry Potter world at Universal the attendant helping me was Erin, what a great surprise. Yes, she is as delightful as I expected. We shook hands and off I went on the ride. Very cool

For the luau the dress seems to be casual compared to what it was back in old days (1970’s) when I was there. Wondering if they cooked a buried pig where you could see it or has that also been done away with. Not sure of correct name of buried cooked pig but remember it was delicious. Enjoyed the video.

Thank you for your great videos as always. My husband and I watch you religiously. We did the same exact luau you guys did two years ago on our honeymoon and had such a horrible experience. They served us spoiled food. It was us and another table that got food with mold on it. We complained and they didn't do anything about it except offered us more food. We were disgusted by this. When we saw your video we had to look away! Not your fault but I'm glad it was a great experience for you.

They use the junk sweet potatoes. Luau’s normally have the Okinawan purple sweet potatoes.
When you two were eating at the luau, I was wondering if the curry has the same flavor or is it different than Japanese curry like the one made by S&B brand? All the food look so good!
It tasted more like Japanese curry, but weak. Needed more curry flavor.
Lisa, I think you should take Hula lessons. You looked pretty good handling those pu'ili. Next time, visit Ululani Shave Ice on Kapahulu Ave...they recently opened their first store on Oahu...Maui No Ka Oi!

i have known of whole pig cooking from my former pastor who was from florida. when i first tried i was taken back by the moistness of the meat. the pig was not seasoned before cooking. meat sauced after.
