I love your honest review of the resort and whether you would stay there again. “Maybe” and “A little costly” are not reviews you hear a lot from travel vloggers. You guys are definitely hard markers. That’s why your reviews have credibility.
Ok Erin is to great on camera!!! The kids were having a blast. So nice Leslie got out and had a enjoyable trip. Both of you are really lovely to watch. I envy both of you and only wish the best for you both and the family. Can’t wait till your next video. Gods blessings.
Hi Bill and Lisa, Shirley again! Also wanted to tell you that we did drive out to Alicia’s Market, but unfortunately they were closed for the day. So we ended up picking up Pearl’s Korean BBQ for my mom but then I saw Zippy’s and I just couldn’t help myself. I went in and ordered Oxtail Soup for me and boy was that good. The portion was so large I managed to make two meals out of that oh so yummy soup. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Sorry Alicia's was closed, bummer. Another reason to go back to Hawaii, right? =) Ooh... Zippy's! We also stopped at Zippy's one night, didn't film it, but Lisa ordered the daily special of turkey jook, and she loved it! I had the beef curry special, loved it too!
This video is bittersweet for me. Grew up surfing, diving, fishing and camping there. It was completely barren in the 80’s. Dive, fish, drink, eat. Go surf the next morning!! It’s good to see progress but sad to see your childhood playgrounds disappear.😢
Hi Bill and Lisa, Shirley here! We just returned from a fabulous seven night stay at Aulani and an added one night stay at the Ilikai. We had such a wonderful time full of good eats and fun. We’re limited on what we can do and it’s hard to venture far because my mom is 98 but we did go down to Waikiki and explored the International Market Place, one day at Ala Moana, and one day traveling to the Dole Plantation. We ate at Liliha Bakery twice because my mom and daughter love the food there plus we had to pick up our loved taro rolls, poi mochi donuts and cream puffs. We actually ate take out from Pearl and Yummy Korean BBQ three times for dinner because it’s easy for my mom to chew and she loves the meat and fish jun, along with the soy braised potatoes, jap chae and macaroni salad with good old white rice. And I already told you we went to the Aulani luau the first night there and the food and entertainment was fantastic. The Aulani was great as far as activities too. We went to the DVC member celebration, lots of character greetings, the character meal, made Mickey ears and did T-shirt stamping, movie nights on the lawn, both the Moana and Uncle’s storytelling, plus we hit the beach, slides and the relaxing lazy River and layed out by the pool. But what I really wanted to tell you was that on this trip as well as our Very Merritime Disney cruise during Thanksgiving week, people would come up to me and talk excitedly about one very special thing I always had with me … your Bill and Lisa food and travel black tote bag. I would use the bag to carry our water bottles, snacks and portable fan and would set the bag down on the table wherever we would sit and relax and my oh my does that bag catch attention. People would rave about how they follow you guys, as do I! Just thought you’d like to know! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi Shirley! So happy everyone had a great time at the Aulani and your trip to Waikiki. That is so surprising to us on your tote bag! We're happy to hear that others watch and like our videos. Thank you so much for sharing!
Back in the 70s my family and I spent most holidays in Hawaii. But we never went to Oahu because it was too touristy. Been to all the other islands except Molokai wasn’t open to us. Now I want to go to Oahu because of your videos and I also want to check off another Disney property. Happy Holidays to you all.
From what we experience on Oahu, it's only 'touristy' and 'city like' in the Honolulu/Waikiki area. Once you drive outside of there, it's really beautiful. Happy Holidays, Julie!
Hawaii is so beautiful In that shot of the sun right after the lazy river the sun looks so so big I’ve never seen a sun like that it’s magnificent. Really enjoying these vlogs 👍😊🌞
LOVED IT!!! Iris and I stayed close to your hotel. A must for me each time we go is Pearl Harbor and the Pineapple ranch. Thanks for the smiles!!! Sláinte
Hello Bill and Lisa! That canoe ride was so relaxing to watch! Thanks for letting us know about the Marugame Udon sister location. I thought they only had the one with the crazy hours and hours of a line. Nice to know when we bring our Mom who uses a walker. That ABC store seems to be very popular, nice to see they have a lot of great food options. The Mickey ears will Lisa and Erin “Mom Moment” was so touching. My favorite has got to be the Mickey Ear shaved ice and the king size Acai bowls and the prices seem pretty descent. Thank you for sharing all the adventures!
Thanks Arlene! Yes, the Marugame location in Chinatown is the hot tip if you don’t mind driving there, parking can be a bit challenging. The one bummer part about the outdoor food options at the Aulani (shave ice included) is that you have to be a guest of the resort.
The Mickey ears shaved ice looked delicious! Thanks for taking us along on your adventures with your family. Here in chilly New England I sure could use some Hawaiian sunshine! Best regards to all❤
Aloha Bill and Lisa , 🌺 how fun a catamaran / canoe ride , and Murakame yummy , being Japanese it’s great to have tempura udon noodles for a reasonable price, our family went to the Waikiki location and yes what a long wait , so when we go back to Oahu we don’t even attempt to go , but now with this new location open I’m sure we will go again we went to the Liliha Bakery on the Nimitz Hwy location and it was very crowded , go to the Island Vintage Coffee in Waikiki yelp it its excellent , the menu is extensive , make sure you have time it’s a long wait but worth it , mom and daughter Mickey ears 🤩👍 really enjoy your vacation vlogs with the kids 👍🤩
What a nice little activity and not too expensive. No big committment of time like on our Whale Watching tour out of Kona. Plus, you get to see close up some of the reef area sea life in that lagoon. We got to see green sea turtles along the reef wall at the lagoon in front of the Marriott timeshare we stayed at Ko' Olina. We swam not too far to get there, not on a small outrigger canoe like you did. Those lagoons are such a beautiful and relaxing please to me. Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. We'll have to try the canoe when we take our little ones with us next time to Ko' Olina.
Aloha Lisa, Bill and ohana! Looks like you had a great time on the ocean - to be able to spot a Hawaiian seal, while you you were out, shows a good sign. Seeing you both in the middle Mauna Kea, the “Heart” of Chinatown Honolulu gave me a some tears - my grandpa used to bring me to Chinatown Honolulu each Saturday - a lot of great memories. Great to see Nam Fong is still going-along. There is a Liliha Bakery in the International Market Place on the second floor in Waikiki; food is just as good as the one on Kuakini Street. Thank you for sharing your Hawaiian vacation with us. Looking forward to the next segment! Best wishes and much 🧧!
If you ever go back to Waipahu, Tanioka's has this Spicy Ahi Seafood Tempura Bowl which you can get with plain white rice or sushi white rice (sushi rice is my fav). They are busy so go early before they run out.
The kids are "you woke us up for..."🤣 She sure paddles hard! Look at that canoe go!!🚣♀️🤣 You guys need to paddle as part of the muscle aching experience.😁 watch out, they get you with the tempura $$$. Best shave ice ice is Waiola. Wailua shave ice on Kauai is best.
Wow this was an epic trip. Good for you. I just don’t know if it’s worth financially for it for an east coaster to come and get enough Disney if you can’t afford the spa or all the extras. There are a lot of pools and resorts cheaper and closer and not so far away for fly that long.
Would have love to see more of the Mickey ears assembly and the food from ABC. Both were cut very short. Don’t know if you assembled the ears or someone else and what about the cost? Not even a picture of the prime rib or the pepper steak you got from ABC and the cost ?
We mentioned in the video the cost of the Mickey ears activity, $36. They assembled the ears with hot glue. Staff was there to assist. They were given 1 hour. We shot a more detailed food offerings (incl. the prime rib prices) at that ABC store in the second Hawaii vlog; th-cam.com/video/F0LBdV3g3gQ/w-d-xo.html
Looks like a great trip! Thanks for all the info & Happy Holidays! How was the banana muffin with Chantilly? I saw it last time & its 1st in my list next trip.
@@billandlisa saw it, all the Hawaii videos! Looks like you guys had a great trip! Just watched the Hawaiian food in LA video, I meant to tell you we have Marugame Udon locally! Thank you for sharing the shave ice location too! Happy New Year 🎊
Awesome to see the whole family together!
I LOVE when Erin is involved in the videos! Shes a natural!!
“Kids are very excited…very excited” 😂 ❤
Love seeing Erin in your videos.

We appreciate that. To stay at the Aulani will cost an arm and a leg. Other hotels, just an arm. =D
Thank you for taking us on your vacation..
You’re very welcome. 😃
Looks like a lot of fun, thank you.
Hawaii video with great scenery and informative of restaurants and price of food in area
At 16:37 what a gorgeous view!! This has been a excellent series! 💯
Honolulu and one special vlog coming!
Erin is so sweet! Love the videos with the kids🌺
Thank you so much!

So true! Happy New Year, Winnie!
Good video of the water
TYVM B&L and family for taking us with you, what fun... 🕊🤍🌎🙏✨️

The canoe company has a website (name on the sail) where you can see how to book a ride. Thanks so much for watching!
I’ve snorkeled at Electric beach, the area you were talking about. Very cool.
Beautiful area!
Thanks for sharing your trip to Aulani! It was very informative and we enjoyed watching. 😁
Glad you enjoyed it!

Nothing wrong with more horsepower! 🤣

Agreed, there are plenty of more price friendly resorts. We're glad we ha the chance to stay at the Aulani, not sure when we'll return as guests.
Those prices at Marukame Udon were fantastic. Did Bill wet dip his chopsticks before using them?
Maybe.... =)
Just wondering why no reviews were done on this location for the food
Why did you think? Not much was mentioned like you normally do
Nice 👍🏽
Yes. First

Sure will! Look for it in a couple weeks.
Aloha!
When are you finally taking a vacation? lol
Believe us, we all had a blast. lol
👍👍😋😄💕😎
Pretty pricey canoe ride.
Yes, it was, but fun to do it once.
Why is she paddling? Isn't the boat motorized? Is it just for show? Lol
We have no idea, maybe every little bit helps breaking out of the reef. 🤷🏻♂️
The boat had a motor? Lol what happened to tradition?
Nothing wrong with a little extra horsepower. lol
Almost 500$?! Who can afford these activities??
