my hubby and i finally tried the buns that we hear so much about. we love them, but i like them lightly toasted and he insist that they NOT be toasted.. both ways are good.
I was there with my ohana the same day as you guys, just a few hours before. Glad to see you both enjoyed it as we did too. It's a great option for a holiday meal that has something for everyone. Plus, they had some of the best menu items. We enjoyed it too, thanks for the review!

OMG - so I went there last January and ordered everything that you guys suggested to try, but there were so many leftovers, and I couldn't take them with me. So much wasted food. So this is perfect!! I'll be doing this next year then!! Thank you very much!!

Wow! The food looked sooo fresh and just delish. I know there is one in Torrance and one in Gardena, Ca. but haven't dined at either of those establishments. I am always tempted now It's on Bill and Lisa.

Always looked for the jalapeño sweet rolls when released several years ago but never found in stores in Philly or Columbus...must be so ono with all the pork & poke...✨🤙🏼✨

I went to the “local place” one time for the Teri chicken and rice… it was portioned for like a 8 yr old… was so small, the amt of chicken was the size of a deck of cards and two rice balls.. I thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t.. $15. For that forget it never went back
Happy New Year! That Buffet looks ono! I want that Rainbow cake. There used to be a bakery in Honolulu called Delite Bakery that had the best rainbow cake but sadly they closed down. When I was a child Kings bakery had a restaurant/ bakery here. We used to sell the round sweet bread for 2$ for school fundraiser’s. I also remember the French toast they made with the bread.
The French Toast is one of our favs here for breakfast, so good! Happy New Year!

It was awesome to NOT see any shrimp on the buffet. I hope 2024 brings you and your beautiful family, great health and many blessings! Take care!
Hi Mary! On their next buffet (maybe Easter?), the menu should be posted when making reservations, so you'll be able to see if any shellfish dishes will be served. Happy New Year!

Vegas needs a King's Hawaiian Restaurant!
$60 a person (after tax) is a great deal!
I would have been putting butterfish, Loco moco burger & egg, fried chicken, etc on those _Jalapeño Rolls!_
What I love about that paradise cake is they flavor each layer! Most rainbow cakes are just food coloring with every layer tasting the same. They put love, time and care into making those cakes!
I thought that was something coffee before she mentioned it, I didn't think about the Kona or _Kahlua_ connection though.
I love custard pies too, it's one of the things I grab at _Foodland_ when I'm in Hawaii!

Thanks Beverly! Yes, Local Place is great for quick eats and their bakery. Subscribe to their email list for upcoming events and their Instagram too, that's how we found out about the buffet.
Worked near there and been to the restaurant a few times. Never tried the buffet so will have to check it out next time.

I don't like the sweet rolls too much, so I usually buy the savory rolls. If you order directly from Kings on-line you can get the jalapeno, and whole wheat. I don't see these in the regular grocery stores. You might be able to at Kings in their bakery. Just like their rainbow bread. But I have had excellent results ordering on-line.

Don't eat the rolls! You have to only eat the $$$ stuff lol. I went to the Kura Sushi soft grand opening yesterday in Skokie and only ate the $$ sushi bc everything was $3. I will go again for their soft opening sale tomorrow.

That was a well-done video, Bill and Lisa, never knew Kings had an occasional buffet, have to watch for the next one. Bill, was it possible they might have served the teriyaki beef had you gone late morning or early afternoon and they just probably ran out?
Sadly, no teri beef offered at this buffet. They posted the menu way before the buffet day when they first started taking reservations for it. Maybe on the next one. lol
