I went to the “local place” one time for the Teri chicken and rice… it was portioned for like a 8 yr old… was so small, the amt of chicken was the size of a deck of cards and two rice balls.. I thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t.. $15. For that forget it never went back

Happy New Year! That Buffet looks ono! I want that Rainbow cake. There used to be a bakery in Honolulu called Delite Bakery that had the best rainbow cake but sadly they closed down. When I was a child Kings bakery had a restaurant/ bakery here. We used to sell the round sweet bread for 2$ for school fundraiser’s. I also remember the French toast they made with the bread.

Vegas needs a King's Hawaiian Restaurant! $60 a person (after tax) is a great deal! I would have been putting butterfish, Loco moco burger & egg, fried chicken, etc on those _Jalapeño Rolls!_ What I love about that paradise cake is they flavor each layer! Most rainbow cakes are just food coloring with every layer tasting the same. They put love, time and care into making those cakes! I thought that was something coffee before she mentioned it, I didn't think about the Kona or _Kahlua_ connection though. I love custard pies too, it's one of the things I grab at _Foodland_ when I'm in Hawaii! Another excellent video B & L!

That was a well-done video, Bill and Lisa, never knew Kings had an occasional buffet, have to watch for the next one. Bill, was it possible they might have served the teriyaki beef had you gone late morning or early afternoon and they just probably ran out?
Sadly, no teri beef offered at this buffet. They posted the menu way before the buffet day when they first started taking reservations for it. Maybe on the next one. lol
Thanks for clarifying that for me. Let me educate you about Sweet bread/roll, it is a Portuguese’s bread including milk bread and malasadas (Portuguese donuts). Hawaiians did not have flour. I grew up on the Big Island and worked on a Hawaiian taro farm in Waipio Valley with my hanai (adoptive) Hawaiian family. I also grew up with Portuguese families and baked these rolls & donuts with them. Also, the ‘Ukulele is Portuguese, the locals changed it a bit, style & design, then it became the ‘Ukulele. My Obachan ( hanai Japanese grandma) loved her misoyaki butterfish on white rice, too. She made the best Nishime (Japanese stew). If you ever do come to the Big Island, LMK. I am born & raised here. I live in Kona now and own a bar with my husband called Da Shark Shack.

I have only seen their bread rolls in grocery stores here in mid Atlantic area. Had no idea they had a restaurant. Think I might like the jalapeño rolls better then their original rolls!
Classic in Torrance. I've never been though. I just bought sliced Hawaiian Bread by Natures Own at Sams Club! Delicious. But King Hawaiian is the best.
I like the 01' fade haircut. Lisa's flower perfectly matches her outfit. That's not the real Santa. Don't eat the rolls! You have to only eat the $$$ stuff lol. I went to the Kura Sushi soft grand opening yesterday in Skokie and only ate the $$ sushi bc everything was $3. I will go again for their soft opening sale tomorrow.
Think they do a few a year, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Check the restaurant website around those holidays and it should be posted if offered.

That was a well-done video, Bill and Lisa, never knew Kings had an occasional buffet, have to watch for the next one. Bill, was it possible they might have served the teriyaki beef had you gone late morning or early afternoon and they just probably ran out?
Sadly, no teri beef offered at this buffet. They posted the menu way before the buffet day when they first started taking reservations for it. Maybe on the next one. lol

It’s so sad that we no longer have the Kings Bakery restaurant in Hawaii.
Where is this restaurant place? On Oahu? On the package it says Hilo. I lived in Hilo for 30 years & it’s not there.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. Let me educate you about Sweet bread/roll, it is a Portuguese’s bread including milk bread and malasadas (Portuguese donuts). Hawaiians did not have flour. I grew up on the Big Island and worked on a Hawaiian taro farm in Waipio Valley with my hanai (adoptive) Hawaiian family. I also grew up with Portuguese families and baked these rolls & donuts with them. Also, the ‘Ukulele is Portuguese, the locals changed it a bit, style & design, then it became the ‘Ukulele. My Obachan ( hanai Japanese grandma) loved her misoyaki butterfish on white rice, too. She made the best Nishime (Japanese stew). If you ever do come to the Big Island, LMK. I am born & raised here. I live in Kona now and own a bar with my husband called Da Shark Shack.

Thanks! Buffet only offered on special days/holidays. Next buffet offered is on 6/16, Father's Day. Best way to see upcoming buffets is to follow their Instagram page.
I spent Christmas Eve with my family, but I will consider this buffet the next time they offer it. Thanks for showing us the delicious buffet close to home.

I have only seen their bread rolls in grocery stores here in mid Atlantic area. Had no idea they had a restaurant. Think I might like the jalapeño rolls better then their original rolls!

Good question! Chinese egg tarts can be slightly eggy in taste and softer in texture. So if you enjoy either, you’ll like the other.
Classic in Torrance. I've never been though. I just bought sliced Hawaiian Bread by Natures Own at Sams Club! Delicious. But King Hawaiian is the best.

Don't eat the rolls! You have to only eat the $$$ stuff lol. I went to the Kura Sushi soft grand opening yesterday in Skokie and only ate the $$ sushi bc everything was $3. I will go again for their soft opening sale tomorrow.
But those rolls were amazing! lol. 3 bucks for sushi is a great deal. Hey, he could be! lol

Think they do a few a year, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Check the restaurant website around those holidays and it should be posted if offered.
