With this iteration, it seems they've really tried to future proof themselves out of that sort of situation. Keeping fingers crossed, because it looks like a lot of fun for a starting set.

Regarding 25:27 - Cards only come into play ready during setup. Resources enter exhausted unless a card ability would say otherwise, including the regroup phase. Did you have a question question about the tag phase? I attack with multiple cards during the same phase or do I have to only check with one unit and then the other person goes then I can attack my second unit
@@WatchItPlayed Hey thanks, just realized my local store sells them for 30 USD so I immediatly bought them, it seems they are not that easy to find nowadays.
I have a Token Upgrade card with Experience on 1 side and a Base on the other. Do Token Upgrade cards come like that normally? Also, thank you for the video, I am learning a lot.
Hi Rodney, i have a question about the initiative token. If I call Initiative and my opponent has two or more action choices, do they then continue to take multiple actions after I take the initiative? Say, after I take the initiative, my opponent then takes an attack action, then it goes back to me, i pass. Do they then take another action or is their turn over?
Hi Wayne, check out this section of the video, and let me know if this covers your question: th-cam.com/video/F02bX67faIY/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=1206
It's just the way the Raid keyword works. It's part of that term's definition in Star Wars Unlimited, but you'll also see reminder text on screen as well. Go to this point and pause, and you'll see. th-cam.com/video/F02bX67faIY/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=1074 Helper text isn't always shown on every card, but in the starter set, it's more frequent to see it as a reminder when players are first learning.
@WatchItPlayed Thanks, but isn't defined in that help text. It says 2/0 when attacking, is it in the rules somewhere that /0 = when defending? I'm just not sure how I would learn that if I hadn't watched this video.
@@manderson725 The “/+0” in that helper text refers to the unit’s HP (or hit points). The helper text says “the unit has +2/+0 while attacking”, meaning +2 power and +0 hit points while attacking. This is a bonus to its stats only ‘while attacking’. Those bonuses go away in any other circumstance. One of the challenges to new players in games like these is that the full definition of the keywords on the cards often isn’t explained fully. The keyword will be fully explained in the rules (in this case in the starter set rule book and on the included playmats), so the player ends up (as they play more), committing these rules to memory. It’s a trade off, because there’s only so much space for text on the cards. Hope this helps!
There’s not maximum, but you often don’t want a deck that’s larger than the minimum, as it starts to get less efficient (often a deck is built around a strategy that starts to get watered down if you have 200 cards in your deck).
@@WatchItPlayed General question. I noticed on some of the cards there is a little 4-pointed star next to the name on some of the cards. Yoda has a star Wampa no star

I don’t understand, is there a block feature? Can you opt to have a unit take damage over your base? If not what’s stopping someone from only targeting your base on every move.
There isn't an auto-block option. Do see the section on Sentinel units for how units can block. As it relates to attacking the base every time - that is an option, but you might find in practice it's not always the best choice. When an opponent has a large unit on the battlefield, they might be able to take out your base before you can, so you'd be better off targeting their unit over their base. These are things that sometimes become more clear when you're at the table playing, than in the abstract.
Question regarding the Leader card when it's a unit: why does it hava a resource costin the top left corner, when the only way to play your leader as a unit is when playing its heroic action? Once your Leader as a unit gets defeated, it goes back to your base forever, with no way of bringing it back as a unit right?
Hey there, I don't really get into strategy help (it's enough to manage rules questions across all the videos :) ), but I think you'll find as you play, you develop a sense of what are good options. Early on, I generally think it's a good idea to resource cards that have high resource values, since you won't be able to play them for awhile, and they will just clog up your hand. I'd rather have lower cost cards in my hand that I feel I can use asap. Have fun playing!
@@damiencrews7603 That's related to tournament play, and I haven't looked into how that's structured. You'll find the guidelines for that on the official Star Wars Unlimited website though.
Once you take initiative, no one else can take it instead. So if you started the round with the initiative, you still have to “take it” to ensure you’re start with it the next round (if you want to).
I do my best to answer all rules questions on the games I cover, but I avoid individual card effects/interactions, as that's a level of detail beyond what I can manage across all the videos I do. That said, I can help with this one: "If an attacker with Overwhelm would deal combat damage to a defender that has a Shield token, the Shield token is defeated and no damage is dealt to the enemy base."
@@Troby1 Nope, but the company website would be a good place to check, or you might find it with a google search to see where it might be available in your area.

I think it's fun to leave you guessing :)
THANK YOU!
You're very welcome!
How do you decide what card to resource? What kind of cards do you want to resource and what ones should you keep in your hand?
Hey there, I don't really get into strategy help (it's enough to manage rules questions across all the videos :) ), but I think you'll find as you play, you develop a sense of what are good options. Early on, I generally think it's a good idea to resource cards that have high resource values, since you won't be able to play them for awhile, and they will just clog up your hand. I'd rather have lower cost cards in my hand that I feel I can use asap. Have fun playing!
What are the time rules for this game?
Can you be more specific about what you are asking? Do you have a particular timing rules question you're unsure about?
@WatchItPlayed I mean like when time runs out on the clock. What r the overtime procedures to determine a winner
@@damiencrews7603 That's related to tournament play, and I haven't looked into how that's structured. You'll find the guidelines for that on the official Star Wars Unlimited website though.
How is it ALWAYS a perfect box spin?!?! How many takes does that take? Please I need to know 😭
So, you're not accepting "first time, every time"? 😀
Thank you. I'm on my 3rd time watching this
I hope this helps you enjoy playing!
Rodney do a teach of A Gest of Robin Hood! We saw that Fred sent you an advanced copy.
We’ll see!
I want to see this guy teach yugioh
Funny enough, I did get a starter box of that game this year. No plans to currently feature it, but thanks for the interest :)
What's the benefit of taking the initiative as an action to make it flip over?
Once you take initiative, no one else can take it instead. So if you started the round with the initiative, you still have to “take it” to ensure you’re start with it the next round (if you want to).
where did u get the token cards
Those came in the Starter Set.
What about Overwhelm against a unit with a Shield?
I do my best to answer all rules questions on the games I cover, but I avoid individual card effects/interactions, as that's a level of detail beyond what I can manage across all the videos I do. That said, I can help with this one: "If an attacker with Overwhelm would deal combat damage to a defender that has a Shield token, the Shield token is defeated and no damage is dealt to the enemy base."
@WatchItPlayed Thanks Rodney. I did get my question answered from another site.
Where can I get those Damage tokens?
Those are from a company called Gamegenic.
@@WatchItPlayed do you have the link for it Sir
@@Troby1 Nope, but the company website would be a good place to check, or you might find it with a google search to see where it might be available in your area.
