    This is an interesting method. I did it differently by reaching round the back, pulling out the plug, removing the seal, undoing the clip, replacing the bulb, and putting it back together again. No tools required, and it only took less three minutes.

    I had a 2003 Jazz. I changed the headlight bulb by accessing it through the wheel well. To change the right hand side turn the steering wheel full lock to the left. Go to the wheel well. Remove the positioning lugs that hold the splash guards in the wheel well. You will have enough room to access the headlight bulb and replace it. Then replace the splash guards in the wheel well and to the same for the left side but with full lock of the steering wheel to the right. No need to disassemble the front bumper and headlight assembly.

      Ich habe das auch so gemacht aber über den Radkasten ist es ein ziemliches gefummelt und zum Teil muss man blind arbeiten da es nicht sehr gut einsehbar ist.

    Helpful video thanks, I changed the bulb without removing the lamp. But I wouldn't be able to do it without watching the video as there is not much space so I did it by touching rather than looking, but as I say seeing on the video what needs to be done was much help

    The Jazz manual, explains it, you just go in via the wheel well, remove two clips and your in to the back of the light,, no need for all this malarkey! ;o)

    Just for info: I was able to do this on the driver side without complete disasembly, was very tight and you need to be relatively dexterous with you fingers. I have medium sized hands (181 cm). Maybe it's usefull to some, so like the comment for others.

    just changed both bulbs from wheel side
    for left bulb turn wheel full to right .....and remove 2 studs with screw driver by simply plying out....then push down the mud guard and put arm in and feel instead of looking....remove cable then remove rubber then remove clip by unhinging the clip outwards....then remove bulb....replace new bulb by turning round till it fits in hole and put clip back...then put rubber back and plug cable
    same with right side
    ..turn wheel full left...then start
    remember to wear gloves if possible ...and turn car off to avoid charging yourself😅

  • @JakobusVdL
    @JakobusVdL 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Phew, that looks fiddly! Honda didn't plan on the headlight bulbs being changed easilly. How do you check the headlight alignment is correct after fitting?

    • @fionatinker23
      @fionatinker23 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agree - I am watching this in horror! Mr Khan makes it look easy, which shows he's a master craftsman. He takes his time, explains it all clearly. Whoever at Honda HQ thought this was a great design for a headlamp is most certainly not a master, more a sadistic novice! I'll have a go but I can see this being a garage job. Just to change a b****y headlight bulb.

    • @JakobusVdL
      @JakobusVdL ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fionatinker23 Hi Fiona, I did the bulb change on my daughters Honda Fit. I did it in a few hours on my drive. I found that taking the whole nose panel off the car, then rmoving each headlight unit off, and then changing the bulb was straightforward. and I took the chance to clean the chassis, radiator etc, and give the headlamp lenses before putting it all back together. I turns out headlight alignment wasn't a problem it all seems to go together with no adjustment. So if you have the time, and a set of screwdrivers and sockets, it is straightforward.
      However, the person at Honda who designed that set up still owes me a pack of beers - so impractical.

    • @fionatinker23
      @fionatinker23 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @JakobusVdL thank you for the encouragement. I will try at the weekend. Such a simple thing shouldn't be so complex though. I like the idea of cleaning underneath too. Good tip.

    • @fionatinker23
      @fionatinker23 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@JakobusVdL I've wussed out! The bolts and screws are really tight and I don't have the strength in my hands to give it a good enough whack to loosen. WD40 laughed at me and noped out :-) Plus, it is snowing and freezing, so I am just going to be a pathetic eejit and take it to the garage on Monday. I do - very much - appreciate your helpful comments and Mr Khan's great videos though. Have a lovely festive season, both of you.
