    Replaced my 2013 F06 650i spark plugs x8 with Bosch ZR5TPP33. According to mechanic it doesn't look like the spark plugs have been replace before, 123K km. Car idle and runs smoother and seem to fix my car problem where the engine sometime almost dies off when slowing to a stop.

    You said you noticed that cylinder 7 has a leaking injector? Did it impact the car’s drivability?

    • @mikes.garage
      @mikes.garage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I replaced the injector after the spark plugs, as it was misfire on cylinder 7.

    Hi Mike. I have a 2012 BMW 640i with 120k miles. The car is now feeling like it’s not getting enough power when I take off but runs fine. Can I service my transmission with out taking it to the dealership?

      Yes, you can service your transmission by your self, but you need to have tools for this job. Also I don’t think it will fix your problem.

    Hey Mike! I’m getting a misfire on cylinder 8, and I’m thinking it’s time to do my plugs (they were done 25k ago by previous owner). Would you recommend also changing the coils too?

    • @mikes.garage
      @mikes.garage  ปีที่แล้ว

      If spark plugs were replaced 25k ago, then your coils or fuel injectors need to be replaced. I guess this is the fuel injector in your point. You can try to replace coil from cylinder 8 to cylinder 4 and see if misfire will go to 4 cylinder if yes, then replace your coils if no then fuel injector need to be replaced.

    I'm using a 12pt 14mm 3/8 socket but it doesn't reach the spark plug. Do they make a 1/4 in socket that works better

    • @mikes.garage
      @mikes.garage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need this kind of socket with thin wall and use extension www.amazon.ca/dp/B01JZ1NZH4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_3X8J3JRR4W4XYCJPQKHS

    A question, when i start the car in the morning and go for a trip, it works fine untill i switch it off, the next time i start the car ( like 30 mins to an hour later) it shakes on start (idle) for t seconds then it works ok, when i move the car and go on slower RPM like stopping it shakes or like hesitates a little then ok again, however it’s been like this for a month untill today had a check engine light on the dashboard but nothing on the status screen, while everything seems to be working normally, is it the spark plugs or coils?

    • @mikes.garage
      @mikes.garage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you have misfire. This is could be spark plug, coil or injector. You need to read code and see which cylinder had misfire, then try to move coil to different cylinder and spark plug to another. Note for yourself where you put spark plug and coil. Erase code and drive the car again, scan it after and see which cylinder had misfire. If it the same cylinder then you need to replace expensive fuel injector which I think it is needed to be replaced. If it's another cylinder then you need to replace what you installed on it.

      Hello again, an update, ran into a computer check found a misfire error in one of the cylinders so have replaced all spark plugs + 2 coils one of them of the misfiring cylinder and another coil for a suspected one and gotta say that 95% of the issue is solved. There is a very little barely noticeable shake but i guess it’s normal or im probably hallucinating after all 😅 , thanks for the tip 👍👍👍
