- The second opportunity to race this year. We have made some big improvements since we raced Cambridge University a few weeks ago. A lot more time spent in the eight since we had camp in Banyoles, Spain.
We managed to come away with the win this time, not all of our competition was there so we are keeping our eyes out for them!
A great opportunity tomorrow to workout with Obi Vincent, hopefully I survive!!

That takes me back, I rowed at Reading Uni in the 80s. Rowed up and down that stretch of river 100s of time. The boathouse has changed a lot (our boathouse burnt down). Keep up the inspirational videos.

Me too. Learnt to row at Reading RC in the 65/66 season, won the RHOR with UL later that decade. Still have the tankards from wins at Reading Regatta. My Dad was Chairman of the Regatta Committee for many years.

Me too! Unfortunately not long after this race I did it again with another but a cox didn't want the calls to be heard so no more pure rowing footage!

Mostly crews from around, few brookes boats but not their top boats, Thames and a lot of other great clubs!

Hi Cam, quick question which you might be able to answer. Somehow I'm always having shin splints when doing pieces/races at high rate, which really gets in the way of putting down enough pressure. Not having this issue on the erg. Any idea what might be the cause and how to solve it?
Not sure how to solve that unfortunately, this was an issue I had when playing basketball - my solution was insoles for my shoes. Depending what age you are it might just be growing pains!

Hi cam loving the vids I'm just about to get a indoor rowing machine for my spare bedroom as I have cancelled my gym membership can't decide on waterrower or concept 2 model D which one would you recommend and why? Which one would give me a better workout? Cheers Thanks
They are both going to give you a good workout, in fact a very similar one. I would recommend the concept 2 only because I know it, I haven't really used the water rower other than to feel it out!

Organisation and a few key pieces of equipment and you'll be fine! Rowing training isn't too complicated!

Hi. A stupid question but would like to hear the answer.
Why do all rowers row in sync? Why dont they row in turn? Or 4 rows then the other 4 etc?
Did anyone tried to row like that?
Think all at the same time is quickest and easiest. There is a video out there with 4 rowing at different times but it needs another level of timing and pretty sure a lot of adjustments to the boat too!
Far ahead in the schedule for me! If I'm free around that time I'm sure we can figure something out!

I think they have little motors in the oar locks, it’s cheating but sure made them fast 💨
