Waited a long time to be disappointed by those numbers . They are forgetting what M stands for . It’s not electric straight line speed it’s driver feel through the corners and putting a smile on your face . Hopefully they do a comp or cs to bring it back to normal weight range ! God help the wagons weight when it comes …..
Impressive tech. In 1990 I delivered an '89 635csi 5-speed from Windsor to Toronto, not one minute on the 401 - just country backroads, two-laners mostly. Not 'strong', but linear, silky power from that pure, unboosted inline 6. Felt executive heavy and playfully light at the same time. My best driving experience ever.
They should have had a lighter colour version on display it’s hard to appreciate the design with the available lighting etc. To think PHEV system adds 500kg to this, how much is a PHEV version of say a Land Cruiser supposed to way… well over 3 tonnes which is crazy heavy
The G90 M5 is the first M5 in history to be slower than it's predecessor. If this new M5 lost about 1,000 lbs or was the same weight as the F90 M5 CS, it would be the greatest M5 of all time...
Ask him whether he’d rather track his ceramic brakes or steel stoppers if it were HIS money. Lol he’s clearly got it backwards. Nobody is tracking ceramic brakes.
I wonder how many owners of this M5 would actually track them? Consedering the nearly 2.5T weight. The M3 (or even better, the M2) would be a better vehicle to track. The M5 would most likely only have an edge in the straight lines, but everywhere else, the othere two will be all over it and they would be more fun to drive. And if you could afford this M5, I'm sure they can afford to shell out for an M3 or M2 also.
I actually think this m5 could have gone back to a straught six with small mild hybrid assist. Keep weight at 2 tonnes, total power about 650hp. This seems like the worst of every world.
I'm already disappointed by the G60 BMW 5 series design language. It's too boxy and weird looking. Now BMW adds to my disappointment by making a 2.5t M5. I don't know what's going to make me want this car. It's gonna be a no from me.
Very controversial design. The rear is again a square car, like the G80, and the front doesn’t look like an M, it looks like the bottom part of the radiator is from an M, and the side gills are from regular BMWs and for some reason are directed in opposite directions, which is some kind of nonsense in terms of design. It’s also not clear why the design of the front lights was changed, and the F90’s rear lights were top-notch. Also, the question is why they left the design of the old M seats, then they should have done it in the F97/F98 style. The car weighs almost 500 kg more, what kind of M is it, you can forget about handling. However, despite all the controversial points, there is no denying the fact that the F90 is now obsolete and a part of history. P.S. The lack of a closed cockpit still infuriates me, what kind of fashion is there for open tablets?
Oh look a generation that just love to drive straight 😢 who really gives to flying f about top speed..what about handling what about the experience this is a boat..with no soul and dam is it ugly
Anybody else concerned about this weighing over 2000kg?

That's why they must be launching the CS later on, just to reduce a little tiny bit weight. Might as well take a huge dump in the toilet to reduce it.
Nope it’s an M5🤷♂️
Boom badda boom. Shes a big one. Kinda pointless’sports’ car.
Slower acceleration, lower power to weight ratio and undoubtedly worse handling at that weight. Wish I’d kept my F90😢
Channeling my inner Doug Demuro with that intro 😂
"THIS...." 😀 "quirks and features" 😀
Nice Landcruiser 300 series weight 👌🏽 2500kg lol

Appreciate the right hand drive demo from BMW
Love it and the old M5, but 2.5 tonnes? WOT?
So they added battery and motor to the M5 to make it faster because it is heavier and it is heavier because of the battery and motor? Utter nonsense
Gotta keep the tree huggers happy!
This should have 850 HP as the F90 has 612 from the V8 alone. Dropping 0-100 to 3s and making the EV drivetrain worthwhile. Missed opportunity.
@@benmiz9742I know right. Fk the air you inhale right.
looks very nice Paul weight not a issue as long it drives good who cars
can't wait to see what a 2.5 ton tyre shreding monster can do lol

I was like “Why is Seth McFarlane reviewing an M5” lol
Wow, they already have a Right Hand Drive unit this early? :O

Doesn’t look sporty like the early 2000s versions…
Looks like a car that ate an M5
The grill is big but at least it’s the right way.
How much do you think this would cost in OZ mate like 220,000 AUD ?
Very affordable for the everyday man in Australia !!
$220k would be a bargain; F90s were $250k plus depending on options.
It'll be closer to $300k
congratulations bmw...you managed to destroy one of your most iconic models..
Ask him whether he’d rather track his ceramic brakes or steel stoppers if it were HIS money. Lol he’s clearly got it backwards. Nobody is tracking ceramic brakes.
What? Ceramics are 100% for track use. They’re pointless on the road and squeal all day long like a 3 year old wanting to know if we’re there yet.
2.5 tonnes? Are you fucking kidding me?
I remember when sports car companies swore blue in the face they would never go hybrid or elec.
Good design but the weight takes the excitement away
It's fat 😢😢 slower 😢
At least it has a v8 😅😅

That interior looks spectacular.
It's a car it's a very expensive car it's like owning a football wife.
And it even looks like one.
Expensive to own expensive to live with.
Looks great
Blom masuk indonesia bmw m5 terbaru
No one buys an M5 to drive on pure electric mode…..
Its great for tax deductions
Damn straight 😊
No but it’s still useful for a daily driver
The next gen is going to be full electric; then what?
I don't like plug in. If it's going to be a plug in then make it full electric
Hahahahaha 2.5 tonnes WTF ..E39 E60 F10 F90 M5s keep them

"Big air dams and diffuser" that we can't see because the colour and lighting of the studio. I've seen better lighting in a coffin
Its slower on paper...only...
BMW design is a disaster
and 2.5 ton for an non-electric car is just unacceptable

Looks heaps better than the F90 IMO.
Nah

I hope, competition and cs WILL COME OUT very soon, this is just 🐌
No competition version coming supposedly.
Every TH-camr licking bmw hoop..it's embarrassing this car is Garbage? Explain how I'm wrong go!
