I'm thinking with hull noise, fully welded stringers of the surtees would help soften the noise compared to stitch welding of the barcrusher.been in both brands and surtees is a step up just feels more solid IMHO
Yeah I agree, on the back deck though minimal difference. I guess to be fair one is an open boat, one enclosed. But there is a difference, beyond doubt.
The 3rd and final race on the flat water is coming tonight!!! Then next weekend Il be checking out a 750 game fisher and a 780 barcrusher while trying to catch a fish or two finally
Would be interested to know what pitch props you running in comparison to each other? The surtees seem to have better hole shot, eventhough its 6cly just maybe 1 pitch up on the 225 Thusty Merc would have made all the difference. BTW what speed were you guys going when you said that you were at WOT? May of missed it but didn't see any ref to that on the gauges while running? Looked like a good day out. Great footage BB 👍 Cheers.
Looks like the Surtees were jumping out of the water too often and too high compared to the Bar Crusher which seems to sit lower and cut through the water, could that be due to how you guys were using your trim tabs and whether or not you kept the water in your balast? It would have been good if you guys swapped boats and do the test as well cos different people drive differently therefore the boats performance could have been affected by the driver.
Wasn't ballast, both were empty. Yeah it does look like the BC stayed in the water more, but could have been due to driving / trim tabs like you mentioned... The verado had more torque, the Suzuki more top end
There are always two sides to every story so I just don't comment on that situation. It's not my beef. Brands copy others all the time. It's not right, but it happens....
I guess after this you went to the gp and enquired about a spine replacement but the doc said get yourself a fibreglass boat 😂 an you'll be alright mate!
Most alloy boat owners spines actually turn to powder over time from being crushed and they ending up getting absorbed by the body and you urinate them out. Once that happens no more pain.....
Interesting to see that ride, I've spent plenty of time back and forth between fibreglass and plate alloy boats - lets just say chiropractors must get a lot more business from owners of the latter!
@@BaitBallin not saying it’s a harsher ride because I’ve been in one and I think if you put a blindfold and ear plugs on someone they wouldn’t know the difference between a plate boat and glass boat.
Yeah 70kph absolutely flat out like this pretty much 4km each way and back is enough to test them out! Yep the noise is off putting, the ride is very good
Not all what it seems, camera was mounted in the Surtees, but not the BC. Surtees is indeed a bit softer though, but not a huge difference! Much quieter though which is nice
I tell you what was wide open though, almost ripped the handle off the Suzuki control box, should have thrown the eskies etc overboard also in hindsight
Both of those aluminium pounders will be destroyed by South African sea boats. To determine the winner out of those two boats you need to count who lost the most teeth and whose hips are still in place. 😊
My hips were broken before this run, plus damaged spine and neck, and hand, bicep and sternum. So you need to come up with a different set of variables 😂
Because it's not my issue....reality is companies copy other companies all the time. Just look at all the stabicraft copies now coming out. I don't agree with it, but it's not my issue.
@@BaitBallin If you new the true story of how barcrusher bboats came about. Its simply a dog act and I would never support barcrusher boats.I had a long conversation with the owner of Surtees boats in New Zealand and what he explained was nothing short of decit
Good to see a real live comparison of speed and performance in the sea conditions. Thank-you to both of you.
No worries David! One thing to note, the camera was mounted in the Surtees and hand held in mine. So looked more dramatic in the crusher

Absolutely awesome, great footage, lovin these vids and info for all the boats. Cheers!!
Thanks mate, glad to see people are enjoying it....
Ha!Ha! Best u tube video ever, brilliant loved it. Keep up the good work, 👍🏻
Thanks mark hahaha we bloody thrashed them! More to come....
Loved it. Hope Barcrusher sponsor you and buy you a new boat (only after yours is suitably thrashed to f of course).
Yeah they bloody should hey!!! 🤣

Awesome vid. now you need to do the same vid full of gear and shows us all what it looks like after you reach your mark :)
Both very nice boats in my book! And nice to hear your honest opinion in the comments. 👌 clearly both are too squeaky clean to catch any fish 😂
No worries! Yeah we both tried but nothing worth showing unfortunately!
My "87 Stejcraft w/ 115hp Johnson would be 500m in front...probably snap in half eventually though!
😄😄😄 yeah it takes some balls combined with stupidity to hold your boat literally flat out in the ocean and just hold on to see what happens.....
Like those blue fenders . Are they better than STD round??
They are MUCH BETTER! Because they sit flat against the hull and don't just roll off when U are against other stuff
200 hp is a huge advantage for a smaller and much lighter boat
I think it was a race of who has bigger coconuts , great video's BTW keep up the good work
Yeah 🤣🤣🤣 it takes bloody guys to hold your boat flat out in rough choppy water

Hey agree regarding props, I was sitting on 70kph in following sea...
Yes they were pretty slow 😅

I get my 670ht in 2 weeks just being fitted out at Townsville marine, I swear I won’t sleep until I get it😂
You better sleep a bit or you will crash it into a rock like I did my last one! 🤣🤣
Should be More of this
Plenty more coming!!! Got more BC, Surtees and extreme lined up in coming weeks
Great stuff 👍👍👍
Yep was definitely a bit of fun after catching nothing for the weekend!
The original boat design vs the thieving boat design.. if u know u know!!

@@BaitBallin who are the thieves? Bar crusher?
I guess after this you went to the gp and enquired about a spine replacement but the doc said get yourself a fibreglass boat 😂 an you'll be alright mate!
Basically yes. Doc said get a 7m Caribbean of any age and your spine will naturally start to heal

Seems like the barcrusher hull is heaps more nosier
Yeah it's a hard one. Surtees cabin is enclosed and fully carpet lined, but yes it is much quieter for sure!

@@BaitBallin small pay off for a genuine reliable offshore boat!
After looking at your comparison I will always go for a fibre glass hh. Thanks for the review
I don't mind the plates for what they are, but my 23 Caribbean rides like a magic carpet in comparison to the best plate boats I've experienced.
What’s the point of this. The boats aren’teven the same size or weight or engine power.
Just having some fun that's all
Another few degrees of pitch on the Barcrusher and you would have won that run up stream by heaps
Well, yeah.....def would have been closer at least
Surtees would have to be a heavier boat, need another 100hp
Yep you can definitely feel the Xtra weight in the Surtees and it feels good...
Surtees rides way nicer and not smashing the ol knees like the bone crusher
Not all what it seems, camera was mounted in the Surtees, but not the BC. Surtees is indeed a bit softer though, but not a huge difference! Much quieter though which is nice
Yea true makes it look bouncier but a bc took surtees plans so I’d rather get a surtees just for that reason
Well yes I understand. But I just stay impartial so people can make up their mind based on the products etc... All good
Alot of comparison between boats where,s the fish thats why you buy a boat like that.
Caught nothing worth showing on the weekend.... No tuna unfortunately
Should have swapped drivers, that mercs not wide open.
Max he has got is 39 knots, max I've got is 42 knots...
I tell you what was wide open though, almost ripped the handle off the Suzuki control box, should have thrown the eskies etc overboard also in hindsight
Y wouldn’t u guys just used cb radio to talk
Yeah true hahaha
Looks bloody uncomfortable compared to my cat.
Well, at 40-50kph it's comfortable, at absolutely flat strap, not comfortable no ; )
I had one those bone crusher really shit
Yer..... Better than pressed, but not close to glass.
😂😂
Race it against a eden craft
Back still recovering 🤣

I understand and know the story, but tbh I wasn't aware of it before buying BC. BC have been good to deal with to me, history asside. But yes I get it
Oh Man! this is really hurting to watch. Buy a deep v fiberglass boat.
Keep watching the videos.... Haha. I just may do that 😅
Glass boats are crap
