    Hey all, we raced them absolutely flat out in head and following seas! I have awesome footage but will take me a while to pull it together.....results were not what we expected!

    Its always FUN to see your own boat, when not in it. Yes, no water slapping sound. I like a open back cabin, much better. But Im a CC guy with a giant top. And foam filled!!
    Length is about the only way to get a better ride in heavy seas. Plate boats are the only way to go.
    I go deep and very shallow all in the same day. 26" glass boats don't. Its a trade off, I'll take. Versatility in my charter fishing business, 100% necessary.

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep I like the open cabin also, they massively out sell the fully enclosed design by something like 50:1. I guess that was also contributing to the boat being so quiet though

  • @eugenecassar2887
    @eugenecassar2887 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Apparently they sound like that in an open cockpit and without the cabin lined. They are just a quieter hull compared to the bar crusher. The alloy shoot out the captain did all the guys said the same thing about the surtees workmate

    Love to see someone let you test out a stabi! How did you find the stability at rest with the surtees? Much the same? The noise difference is incredible. I’ve always wonder why barcrusher won’t do 6mm bottom. Maybe they are concerned about copyright?

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stability at rest the same, very very good! Yep noise difference was ridiculous. Huge

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well some say it makes no difference and is a waste of manufacturing money. Not my words, but that's what some of the boat makers say

    Been next to fibro boats in rough seas and they do roughly same speed as long as owner family happy with the boat your got

    Thanks for the video. It’s something I’ve always wondered, how they would fare against one another. not sure if you got as much footage from the bar crusher, but a side by side video comparison with the surtees and bar crusher would be awesome given the conditions were the same.

    • @BaitBallin

    yes great video, allow us to see and almost feel how the boat ride with not perfect seas , give a real feel of the ride, where most boat review don't really show a un edited feel of and sound inside of there boats at all, so really good video.

    Freeze frame at 2.14 and check out the welding above your head. That is something I'd expect to see on a Chinese built boat! And if that's what it's like where we can see it...hmm.

    Question, when your going into head sea does your boat hit it and than get bogged in it for a second then goes up and over. I’m talking around 1-2 meter chop. Because my dad was on his old vista craft 17ft gliding through the waves mean while a bar crusher with a 140hp Suzuki on it smacking into a head on sea and got bogged down and had to really ramp up the engine to get it up and over the wave. This was when bar crusher was still apart of surtees not it’s own separate brand. Personally I think if your getting an alloy boat it’s wiser to get something like a white pointer, AMF, Circa, Extreme or stabicraft. Other wise fiberglass is definitely a softer ride. I’m 15 and from New Zealand and have just bought my first boat. I went with fiberglass rather than every other typical 15 year old kiwi going with a tinny. I just don’t think you can get a safe tinny for less than 10k in NZ so I’ve only spent 1800 and have a fleetline sapphire. It came with a 75hp Chrysler but might downgrade to a 40hp tohatsu or upgrade to a 90hp Mercury.
    Anyway love an honest opinion and thanks for the epic video, cheers from NZ

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't believe the hype of fake boat reviews .... Extreme are more show than top performance. Stabicraft aren't the softest.
      In my honest opinion Surtees rides the best, barcrusher second best.....
      All these so called reviews on the internet are financially motivated etc. These boats will pretty much literally handle any conditions offshore as I'm out all the time in big swell and big winds.

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And a barcrusher will absolutely leave many shit glass boats for dead. I do it all the time, watching them get hammered while I cruise past them in comfort. Only the best glass are better than the best plate alloy.
