another great one. Those first 30 or so issues are so iconic. I followed up until the early 90s with the comic although my interest in the figures / toy line faded by '88.
@@dshay7gamingandcomics yeah there were still some interesting stories between 30 and 50 for sure, but since my overall interest in the toys and cartoon was fading by that point, maybe I was a harsher judge of the comic. I'll have to re-read those mid / later issues to give a clearer opinion.
Thank you! Yeah, I hope it takes off. If anything, I’d just like more Joe fans getting the chance to enjoy the comic we grew up with in a fresh new way.
I'm loving your videos and I greatly appreciate the time effort that goes into producing these excellent videos, but I have ask the obvious questions. First, why did you start at _Silent Interlude_? Is it because _Silent Interlude_ is the seminal issue of the comics and the idea behind _G.I. JOE _*_Almost_*_ Animated_ started off as a "one off," and the idea to do the later issues came afterwards and you just picked up after _Silent Interlude_ or you don't have first twenty issues? And of course will you be doing the first 20 issues, _Special Missions_, and the stories in the _G.I.JOE Yearbooks_? I'm looking forward to you doing the first 20 issues, especially _G.I. JOE #7 _. _G.I. JOE #7_ is very special to me for a number of reasons. First because _G.I. JOE #7_ was the first comic that I ever owned and that issue is what brought me to the fandom. Also, because my best friend (since I was 8,) gave me that book. Keep up the good work. By the way, I like the actress that you choose for the Baroness. .
Great questions. I simply started with #21 just to see if I could do it. No one else had done anything like this with our beloved G.I. Joe comics, so I thought I'd give it a shot. 21 was the easiest to start with simply because I could do it all myself. Music and sfx, no dialogue. Didn't require anyone else, and I could work on my own timetable. And yes, 21 is such an important issue (and one of my favorites). So it seemed like a great one to start with. I do have all the issues, and now that the videos are gaining some momentum, I'm attempting to create more. My plan is to go back and start at issue #1, while also continuing were I left off here at issue #29 and continue forward. So, 2 and 30 would come out at roughly the same time, 3 and 31, etc. I'm actually working on issue 1 and 29 as we speak! The voices are coming together! It takes about 40 to 60 hours per issue, so it's a long process. Labor of love. And if possible, I'd love to cover the Yearbook stories and possibly the Special Missions as well. Just takes time and a lot of participation from other people! Glad you're a fan of Baroness. I am too....she's my daughter. :)
You bet! Got issues #1 and #21-28 up…working on more right now! Planning on getting as many out as possible, they just take a while. Thanks for watching!
1. Even though new characters were dropping in, you still had lots of moments like this with originals like Breaker, Clutch, and Steeler. 2. The sheriff as a nod to Buford T Justice and Roscoe P Coaltrain (as well as Breaker's recognizable Tennessee accent) 3. The robots- I wonder if this was an earlier incarnation of the BATS, or if it was original Hama. 4. American Gothic moment - "We're gettin' Cable!" Man, I miss this sort of writing!
Totally agree! I loved when old characters would pop back up, and looking back on the comics now, I notice a whole lot of references that I didn't quite catch as a kid.
“There is only three of them and a dog….” The disdain for junkyard…… yet….he was the most Joe of the bunch

Thanks for watching! Was pretty much the same for me, though I really enjoyed the comics up to about 50 or 60.

I thought I would enjoy the video a little.
I didn't; I enjoyed it immensely! Great work.
Thanks so much!
Dude you deserve more views and subs. good stuff bud. good stuff.

@@dshay7gamingandcomics Oh that's so dope you were able to include your daughter in on this project.
Great! Love it!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
