- Today we go out to the abandoned creek property and do a lot of clean up and we started a big fire. We also go check the cameras for the bear.

It is so nice to have that guy who knows how to do everything and willing to help (Randy is that guy) treat him right. he is worth his weight in gold.

A suggestion - after getting most of it cleaned up, rent a metal detector and go over the whole area if you can. Might cut down on lawn mower accidents.
Or a rolling magnet it will only pick u what is on the surface, but metal detecting is super time consuming

You're so blessed to have Randy helping you. Have you thought of bringing a couple storage containers in? Use one for storage and cut one up to use for goats, store fire wood, feed, anything. I've seen other homesteaders use them for such. I even watched a young couple build a beautiful custom home with covered porch on one end, 3 bedrooms, solar powered everything. You need a storm shelter out there too. A 1/2 size was backed I to a hill with door sticking out and roof covered in dirt. Logs were put stacked at back underground for strength, support, etc. Lots of great use/ideas. Since underground use 1/2 of one for food storage. Have fun!!!
Getting the new property cleaned up is going to take time, but it's worth it. That animal in the trail cam pic I think is a coyote, not a mountain lion. The big cats have longer tails. And your rescue hens have really perked up. They will be beautiful once all their feathers grow back. I hope they will appreciate their future as free range hens.💖💖💖

I would suggest scanning the area with magnets to pick up any loose nails or screws. It is nice to see a mess cleaned up.

I'm so glad that you were able to get the chickens from that place and give them a good home, they are adulyadej to look alot better now their true color is starting to show more and to me they look more commer, it shouldn't be too much longer before your ankle to put them in with your flock of chicken. You're right that's there's a lot of stuff out there at the new property. Can I make a suggestion that you get,, if you don't already have one you get you one of those high-powered magnets, maybe one that's heavy and rolls and go out there and walk the property and pick up all the bolts and nails and stuff that could be left over there...
I agree. We have contractors pull a magnet after their work.
Do not want your livestock getting Hardware Disease.
Looks like the mini horses are doing a good job of cleaning up the ground in their pasture....maybe you could spread some grass seed in their current pasture and move their fence to another area adjacent to current pasture and keep doing that until they clean up your wooded area....ten your girls could follow the horses and pick up all the downed tree limbs etc, then seed the newly cleaned up areas with grass and plants that deer like to eat and that will help the deer grow big antlers???....

Around here if land was left abandoned the neighbors dumped their trash in all the ditches! We bought 60 acres 20 years ago and still cleaning it up!
Get a magnet to run across the ground to pick up all the bolts and little metal stuff.

That pic looks like the back end of a coyote. It’s definitely not a mountain lion. Y’all are doing great on the property there. Can’t wait to see it all done and what y’all do with it. :)

My guess would be coyote. The tail doesn’t look long enough for a cat.
If you’re trying to bring in bears, Anise oil works well. Sweets are better than meat.
The property starting to look much better. The picture you showed is not a cougar the tail is to short, it looks more like a coyote.

The trail camera must have a strange file extension you will need to download to your computer or phone. Once that is installed, your picture should show! Yes, it looks like it could be a large cat! Looking online the tail s/b 2-3 feet long with the tip on the ground? May a Bob cat?
Not anything cat related. It’s a dog or coyote. I was able to zoom in on it and it didn’t look anything like a feline
That looks like a coyote/Gray wolf. My Akita always gets mistaken for a coyote or wold mix because of her tail. She's full Akita German Shephard mix. But her tail always gets people asking questions
I'm pretty sure it's not a mountain lion. They have Very long tails.

I have been trying to give you some information on how to get electric with out solar ,gas, or any thing like that it will run your entire house with everything in it and it is stronger than public electric.and after it is installed then the cost is nothing. I thank it is worth your time to check it out. This is not a scam it is on the up and up , I am 80 years old and I want to help you.
