- We have some really bad and sad news to share with you all today. He passed away after a long battle. Homesteading is one of the hardest things a family can do. There are so many ups and downs when it comes to the farm life.

I'm so very sorry to hear Midnight lost the battle with his infection. The hardest part about pets is when you lose them, but it's worse when they're so young with a whole life ahead of them. Praying Pearl kicks her illness. 🙏

Something you might want to research is coccidia.. I had KuneKune and it is a very common parasite and ivermectin does not effect that one. There is a medication called corrid, you mix it in their water. Just a thought.. you can take in a sample of their poop for the vet to test. Just sharing to help. I loved my kunes and miss them. Edit note: when they won’t drink water you can try flavored pedialite. I used orange and it worked… since she likes berries can get the fruit punch maybe.
I still feel guilty about putting my animals to sleep even though I had to. Hardest thing about having animals. I have their picture on the phone so I still see them.
Don't feel bad. I have all their ashes in my china cabinet, and thanks to FB, I have memories of them pop up every few days. We're now on our absolute last pet. I want them all, but I also want to have a life again. I want to be able to up and travel when I want. No one but family watches our dogs, and now we're the last ones in this city.

Sorry for the loss of your little loved one, Midnight. I looked up pigs and acorns and found out that pigs that are fed acorns are pigs that are meant for slaughter and not as pets. They can get toxic amounts of tannins. Please research this so if it could be the problem, it won't keep reoccurring.
So sorry to hear of Midnight's passing. I know that's hard on both of you and the girls. Will be praying for Pearl specifically and also all the animals on the homestead.

Its so hard to lose an animal, or anything really but its obvious that y'all take incredible care of all of your animals. I can see that Brandi is such a good nurse. Hoping that Pearl gets stronger really soon.

I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty it’s never easy losing your pet. It is nice when your pet does pass the vets do make there foot print in plaster Paris for the family to have as a keepsake of there pet. My dog passed away a couple of years ago and it still makes me sad. I use Jack’s foot print keepsake as an ornament for the Christmas tree and someone will always share a story about how special Jack was! That make my heart happy!

It IS SOOOOOO hard when we lose our pets - we lost our cat of 23 years after nursing him for his last 6 months...and we know we did all we could for him and he was ready to go...in my arms. He is now buried in our garden!

When cats get Sick, it usually is not good. I raised several and was sad when even one passes. Outside cats Some get into and eat things their digestion cannot handle. When we take animals to raise, often this happens, even when we give the best care. How very nice of the vets to give a paw print. Oh no, now the pig? Heart worms, parasites, allergies. The flu… so many animals that aren’t used to outside farm life. You two really have a love and care for them.

This is my first time seeing this. Truly sorry for your loss. I lost my little dog in October and still feel sad. So I understand how you feel about talking about it. I hope pearl is feeling better. I have learned from experience with my animals that diatomaceous earth helps in ridding animals of many different kinds of parasites. I pray for you all often. I believe you are a wonderful family and so caring of your farm animals. I hope everything is finally going well for you all.

Always hard to lose an animal. And Midnight at went on his own, instead of being helped along. My cat, Tigger, passed in his sleep on his bed in my bedroom. At 17 years old.
