Great video! These trails look so fun!! I love the Insta X3, but I only use it on MTB rides that are really well lit and sunny trails. In my experience, there are a lot of micro vibrations that are visible when the area is not well lit for action sports - particularly MTB riding. Also, to help reduce the micro vibrations, I'll often use the camera's manual settings and set the shutter to 160 or higher (faster shutter helps the stabilization work better). Also, the camera can export to 4K if you use the Insta360 Studio desktop app. The footage looks much better when exporting to 4K on TH-cam when watching on a large screen.

Thank you so much for sharing! I found out how to export 4K and it does make the footage a lot nicer! I do agree with those micro vibrations in low light situations. And when you watch the videos on a big tv, you’ll definitely notice it. I’ve also tested the new insta360 Ace Pro in the PureVideo mode and it really removed a lot of the micro jitters. Just sharing the link here for you if you’re interested 😄

@@SeanTalksMTB I'm a big fan of Insta360's cameras - well, specifically, the X3 and the 1 Inch 360 camera. I think they work best when there's not a significant amount of rigorous shaking from high action sports such as MTB riding. I've used the X3 for MTB rides, but mainly as a 'B cam' and only when it's really bright out. Otherwise, I tend to stick to GoPro as in my experience, it handles stabilization for rigourous riding, jumps and bumps much better than any camera I've used. I realize GoPro does have significant limitations in low light, but for low light areas, I switch to manual settings and force to shutter to remain over 160/sec. If that's too dark, I'll lighten it in post to salvage what I can. I looked at Insta's AcePro and thought it may be the solution to getting high quality footage in low light areas, but, to be honest, I'm not sure if it out performs GoPro in terms of tact sharpness when needing a lot of stabilization. For MTB riding, I use the GoPro sharpness on High and the color on Vibrant and it doesnt degrade the footage to appear like over sharpened video. With the Insta cameras, I find that I use the lowest sharpening setting to avoid the 'over sharpened video' look. For example, here's a video I did using the X3 - note, the camera is mounted to a boat, so it works great in conditions where the stabilization works perfectly for horizon leveling, boat wake and waves. To me, when Insta cameras are in the lowest sharpness settings (and in HDR), they can render acceptable footage similar to a film camera th-cam.com/video/IqDhkE8jz5k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bYWEeRcABt_6ecBf However, many have found Insta cameras to work well for them, particularly, Dangerous Dave's channel uses the X3 exclusively (I believe he is a Insta Brand Ambassador so he reps the camera on his page). He does very crazy double black trails that require quite a lot of stabilization. I asked what his settings were and he replied he uses 'Vibrant' for color and everything else on Auto, if I'm not mistaken. There are also post production software that reduces the camera shake, and I assume he also uses something in post, but, note, his videos arent that tact sharp either - but they are incredible to watch because of his skills and the trails he rides: th-cam.com/video/JZZc0bHSPeM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jP0BPuxT3YS88quq

Here's another great channel that uses the X3 for MTB riding: th-cam.com/video/o2qVgHm65Pk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k1MdirepjqW4Vayv I really do love the X3 as a 360 camera, but while this video is also great, there are still a lot of micro vibrations that are visible. The AcePro also appears to be slightly sharper, but still have micro vibrations. To me, I think the stabilization on all the Insta360 cameras is not quite rock solid as of yet. But I look forward to any solutions and software updates that helps the stabilization. I'm also really excited for the idea of an updated X4 given the 8K advancements of the AcePro.

I wonder if the vibration damper accessory will be using in that case

I like the ultra wide angle view, can see much more details of the trails, n I can really feel the ruggedness of the terrain, u know feel real man, just like I were riding instead of u
The downside is the faded colour like watching movies of 80s. Isn't ultrawide angle let in much more light hence should be brighter?

Yeah man. I like the angle too. But I’m not sure if I’ve set it right because when I went home to edit, the footage was pitch black. Had to boost it in post. But color is straight out of camera. The sensor on the X3 is a 1/2 inch sensor, supposed to be bigger and better. I need a few more runs with it to really figure it out

But so far, I really cannot tahan the wind noise. Really bad. The DJI Osmo Action 4 on the other hand is crazy, cannot hear one bit of wind noise.
