    It’s next level seeing someone who has learnt to manage their health anxiety (but nonetheless, still has the condition) helping others to get to the same place. It’s like you’re in a life-raft, holding out a shaking hand to those who are still in the water. That takes so much strength. You’re very inspirational. You should be incredibly proud, Cherelle. ❤

    You are so right - just since the end of August getting COVID, I have isolated because I now have "diagnosed" myself with Long COVID due to weak shaky trembling legs & ringing in my ears. I have pushed family & friends, and, my love interest away --- it's now October 18th, and, it is time to take hold of my life again! Thank you for being you ~ ❤️‍🩹

    I started driving again last month just short trips in my town to the stores and small errands. After three years without driving because of my health anxiety and feeling lightheaded it feels SO amazing. I feel free. I still have a lot of work to do, ( I quit working when all of this started and I’d like to get back to it), but I’m feeling a little more positive. Thanks for this, I need to keep finding meaning, this was very helpful!

    Over 4 years struggling with HA I must have listened to hundreds,probably thousands, of videos looking for someone I could completely relate to. Recently I came across your videos about your journey, and how it mirrors mine one hundred percent. I am sort of afraid to get too optimistic because of all the failed attempts to get my life back. Thank you for baring your soul to try to help others.I,m fairly sure I have watched everyone of your videos-often in tears- because I had found someone who truly ,truly understood me. Congrats on coming such a long way and you do make the best therapist because you have lived through what you are helping people with.Thank you! Cherelle, I started watching you after seeing your videos popping up based on all of my searching of every illness you have feared yourself! People think we are nuts, but living with Anxiety like this with the real physical symptoms that accompanies all these illnesses is ‘overwhelmingly’ stressful like you’ve mentioned!
    However, I wanted to let you know you have been a big help along with my prayers to God to take this fear away from me, irrational fear without knowing, just overly obsessing every minute.
    Keep up the great work, you are helping more than you’ll ever know! God Bless 😊

    I have just picked up my paint brushes again after a very long break due to feeling anxious as well as physical stuff going on due to heading for menopause. I never quite know what is caused by hormones or anxiety and now also have low iron and then gastritis type gut issues from the iron supplements. Some weeks I really feel like I’m falling apart physically and mentally. It’s so easy to say " what’s the point " when it comes to hobbies etc and just spends days being a worry ball feeling sorry for yourself. I’ve now accepted that things may be rough but I can still try to live alongside those health issues and find some joy in my life again. I’ve cleaned up my diet, make sure I do my daily walks with the dog, do some hobbies I enjoy that fully occupy my brain like Duolingo and painting. Painting especially puts me in a completely absorbed zone. It’s like meditation. I pop on a candle and some nice music and forget about my physical and mental worries for a while. I also meditate every morning before I get up. It all helps a little.

    It's always so refreshing to listen to someone who gets it, thanks for making these videos. I was in an amazing shape when my health anxiety started taking over my life and that is when I stopped going to the gym - and people just kept telling me how working out will help deal with my anxiety. I am doing better now and am able to do some of the things I used to enjoy again, went back to the gym. But it's interesting how health anxiety has also changed my perspective on life and I am no longer worried about issues not related to my health and feel like I have a lot more courage - to travel alone, to try to start my own business, meet new people, be the first one to reach out to friends etc.

    Is it different dealing with health anxiety when you do actually have chronic health conditions that cause symptoms? I have been under a lot of stress over the past five months and have so many more symptoms, some completely different to my usual symptoms and my usual symptoms worsening but I have convinced myself because of the way I’m feeling there is something more going on which is causing huge health anxiety. I use various strategies like journaling, meditation, some light exercise, I don’t drink or smoke but still this is becoming so debilitating.
    Just wondering if there is a reason why my comment hasn’t had a reply as it seems those before and after mine have? thank you

    • @cherellethinks
      @cherellethinks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tracy!
      I definitely think it’s tough for people who already have chronic health conditions because then the person is dealing with both anxiety symptoms and symptoms of their conditions all rolled into one. But I do think that the same advice applies in regards to trying not to Google our symptoms or constantly check and generally just reconnecting with life. I don’t know what chronic condition that you have but if you’re able it would be keeping as busy as you can, getting out in nature, socialising with friends and making plans so that even though we are suffering, we’re still enjoying life at the same time. I know that this can be a hard concept to grasp. I know it was for me! Because I felt like I was suffering so much that there was no point in making any plans or doing anything because the suffering was taking over but I’ve now learned that we can learn to bring more joy into our lives even when we are struggling. ❤️

    • @tracybegley5195
      @tracybegley5195 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Cherelle it does feel that it makes it more difficult having chronic condition that are debilitating. I’ve recently been under a lot of stress which has exacerbated my symptoms and although my symptoms can cause anxiety it has reached a new level where I am googling and fearing the worst! I find it hard to distinguish what is anxiety related and what is a genuine increase in symptoms. I am trying to distract myself where I can and trying, although not always successfully, to not google and let my mind go into overdrive. Thank you for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it ❤
