Absolutely brilliant Cherelle..you have nailed this beautifully..you have been such a Godsend for me..
Ive found your strategy to sit with symptoms for 2 weeks absolutely brilliant..it is actually advice that a specialist Health Anxiety psychiatrist also suggests..he said we need to say (when a symptom comes up) "so what" and then go out and live and enjoy your life regardless of that uncertainty.
So this has set me free and bought so much peace.
The same psychiatrist said also we need to deal with that fear of dying by having that so what attitude..and I found that helpful too because then it helps me to let go and pretty much then live each moment as if it was my last and find joy and peace in that.
It has also taught me to be thankful for each day and finding more joy in each waking moment 🙏.

I'm crying right now. Thank you for this, from the bottom of my heart. I've been having bad tingling in my scalp and my face for more than a week now and I have a MRI planned but I am so scared to do it. I have bad health anxiety but I am also scared to see the results of that test so I postpone it all the time (anxiety is so real). I had this symptom in the past but this time it is worse than usual. The tingling happened in my right arm last year but now it's in my scalp mostly and it is the most annoying feeling ever. I was also really stressed lately so I don't know if this could be a rebound effect from it. It is always hard to tell. Anyways, finding your channel has helped me calm down a bit, thank you for that.

The symptoms are for real!! I've been going through like numbness, weakness tingling and burning in all 4 limbs which is worse at night or after waking up.. these symptoms keep showing throughout the day.. shown it to 6-7 doctors, did an MRI which showed pinched nerves in 2 places to which 3 of them said avoid biking, sports and focus on physiotherapy & the other 3 doctors among them is a renowned neuro (said everything including MRI is normal) and can continue with your daily activities.. but symptoms do persists and anxiety too..

I am like so close to this phase where you are right now Cherelle, and again, I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for making this video. This makes the next step for me so much clearer. Coz i do have the 'enemy' in sight. It's not the symptoms, its the anxiety. I'm still checking once in a while and resisting the urges to check. And every once in a while I do get that idea of 'you know what? I'm not doing this anymore. It's been going great, I have had a nice couple of peaceful days. I don't wanna revisit those emotions again of panic and dread.' And the idea I do get is 'I'm feeling so well and peaceful, I'm just gonna risk it' Fuck it!'. But I couldn't word it as well as you did in this video. So thank you for helping me to formulate this in my brain, how to for good stop checking and also know I can still be 'responsible' and really learn to trust myself that I will able to make the right judgement if I need to get help for something actually urgent.

    • @gabrielametodieva8360
      @gabrielametodieva8360 ปีที่แล้ว

That’s one of the problems with checking as a safety behaviour. I am convinced that most of my symptoms either appeared or got worse because of my checking: i had swollen lymph node after a vaccine (as expected) and made my neck so sore and tight by checking that I developed a globus sensation and dizziness for months. I made my leg sore ones when I found a lump (it was some blind pimple), I’ve had every single part of my body affected at this stage and my focus on this body part and checking makes it so much worse. Im done with this now, can’t do it anymore.

With leg weakness I've had it for 3 months, and anxiety can cause this. Sitting with chest pain for 2 weeks isn't smart or shortness of breath. And not being able to get to a Dr because they're so busy doesn't really help. I'm only certain when a Dr has ruled it out with every test available

Forsake all worries of the past.
If a man marvels at his own shadow,
the light is not in front of him.
    The anxious
    dwell on times
    in which they have stumbled,
and are held captive by a dense fog
where no steps can be seen.
    Walk by faith,
knowing your foot will be met with land.
    For the end of fog
is to be found in any direction.
Holding no fear of unseen ground,
    you shall behold the sky

I’ve been to doctors a few times and I went to A&E and got an X-ray done, ECG and blood tests. The doctors tell me that physically I’m fine but yet I still continue to feel the breathlessness and often feel like it’s getting worse. It can be a visious cycle when you stress about that heartbeat and it gets even faster. You can try some breathing exercise (just slow, relaxed breathing) and see if your heartrate goes down a bit. after some getting used to it, i think it will.
