I would "try" to meditate again and again...and again....and again. 20 minutes, 30 minutes, at one time I was doing an hour because I thought this is what I'm "supposed to do" to reach inner calmness. People have all these techniques and "shoulds" with meditation. In the end, it was worth it...not because it "worked" but because I finally gave up. And in that giving up of "trying" in silence and stillness I realized it doesn't matter. That's when I started to really benefit from meditation, when I no longer assigned to it a structure or method or anything. For me, meditation is stillness and silence, simple as that. Once a formula is assigned to it, or an identity, or structure...it's no longer meditation, it's just another task for the ego to attach to. I like mindfulness books like "30 Days to Reduce Stress" by Harper Daniels for practical exercises, but in the end silence is the ultimate healer of many, many things.

Multiple times I have done meditation for 20mins a day, stopped when i felt back to normal only to have anxiety creep back up down the line. I’m sticking to it now.
I also liked the Alan Watts speech about life being a turbulent stream and we have to let go to relax and float. If we flail and try to steer direction, we drown. So now I tell myself “Let go and float”.

I'm a lifelong struggler with sometimes overwhelming anxiety that includes depersonalisation but for most of the time I never had a name for it. What helped when it was really bad was a strong vit b complex and lots of walking. Walking a beach with my feet in the sea is the best of all but a bit too cold right now. But coming up second is being out with my cycle and walking gently alongside, hands on both handlebars, on a quiet path. That's a minimum 3 points of earth connection all the time. SO good.
It soothes the solar plexus really well.

I needed to hear this today. My neighbour is starting a 2-week construction project and I've been suffering from insomnia since I learned about it. I thought I was doing so well. I should go back to the gym.

Thankyou for your videos, I seen you did 1 regarding your speech, I am so scared at the moment as I am getting issues with my speech, such as not being able to form certain letters with my mouth, stiffness in my mouth similar to if you try to talk when you have been out in the cold and your lips feels strange, I do stumble words etc also, I'm so worried about it, my gp is referring me to a neurologist, I have bad anxiety but can this really be down to that, I don't know.

This is so helpful. When this happens, I have to take a little higher dose of my Klonopin for a couple days. Just to get my baseline back

I can relate, are used to suffer from benign fasciculation syndrome actually still do, and I still struggle with is it motor neuron disease or is it from anxiety. Keep a long story short I have watched a couple of your other videos and I pretty much mirror your symptomology And viewpoints. The one thing that you have never answered is have you ever tried along with meditation and breathing exercises etc. any anti-depressant medication‘s?

Hi, I wasn't sure where to go and Im looking for some advice. I'm the boyfriend of someone with sever health anxiety and I was wondering how best i can support them. It seems that it's a conclusion one has to come to themselves and I was curious how I can point her in the right direction without being patronizing or dismissive of the real symptoms she deals with every day.

Just listen when she talks. Maybe accompany her to a gp appointment to talk about her anxiety. Watch videos like these together. Take her for a coffee somewhere quiet. Getting out the house can help. Breathing exercise can help to bring anxiety down. . These episodes soon pass. Wishing you both well ❤
