    One thing that PSP has not done in any of their versions is provide an easier method of creating special effects with text. I was given a step by step process in the 2011 version, which at the time was Okay. But I would rather see something a lot more robust. Like making circular or semi-circular text. Maybe vectored text so you can put them staggered locations. Also, making special effect paint brushes would be nicer if you would give more free ones as well a tubes. I make my on custom frames for my video posters. Also, I have to use the 32bit version to use my Alien Skin plugins. It would be nice to have that also included in the whole package.

    I was really hoping this new version would have a "subject selection" tool like Photoshop has.

    One annoying bug: if you load a saved workspace from a previous version of PSP, any new features will be missing from the menus. So even though I was in the "Complete" workspace, the new menus were all missing (Focus Stacking, A.I. stuff etc). So I have to switch to another workspace, then back to Complete again, then manually add all the changes I'd made in my old saved workspace again. I call that a bug. What's the point of saving workspaces if new features will all be missing when loading them in the next version?

    I think you have to update a plugin to mount a panorama, and another to remove the haze thanks

    I was hoping for a blending tool. I have not discovered anything in this version that would do what I want it too. Yes, you can push and smudge, but they really do not blend. For me, I found the soften tool sometimes blends something's, but it softens it, then you will need to sharpen. Which is not always a good look. I asked Corel about this and I got the pat answer. Maybe someone else has a solution to doing this. I would almost need something like Painter to blend in. I thank God Corel has not gone the way Adobe has and charge you monthly to use the program. That is just plan greed.

      @@G_Signer Yes, it does seem odd. I've noticed. You two not achieving your hoped for effects by adjusting hardness and opacity? What I want to really find out is whether it is possible to use the push and soften brushes etc. with a curve tracking option (like in the freehand selection tool).
      It might make a little difference, Hi Me, if you want to blend go at right angles to the margin you can see. Do you know what I mean? Am I teaching grandma to suck eggs?

    I have a few old photos which are hazy, blurred, I just want to clear that up. Does Corel paint shop do that, if so hos as I do have the product. I tried to do it, but all was in vain.

    The thing that really puts me off upgrading to the latest version is the lack of performance when zooming in or out of an image. Modern computers shouldn't be CPU-bound when redrawing the image. i.e. The user shouldn't be able to see the image being redrawn on screen. It should be virtually instant. Most software makes use of graphics card acceleration now, including image editors. Even my old iPad zooms in and out without looking like it's from the 1990s.

    PSP 2023 defaults to AI Resize, which is dog slow on my PC, even with 32 gb of RAM. I have to manually reset it every time I resize an image to Bicubic or other settings that I always use. I'm not overly thrilled with the new version. Glad I didn't uninstall the 2019 version since I still have to use it. I'll be downloading a trial version before I buy another Corel product. I've used them since it was JASC Paint Shop Pro but the new 2023 is the worst one I've used.

      32bit es viejo. Tu sistema debe ser muy vieja. Hoy en dia es raro ver versiones en 32bit. La mayoria son 64bit. Yo tengo Wordperfect 32bit y de vez en cuando se cierra automaticamente.

    I think PsP is so much easier to use than Photoshop. Just the last version of PSP was so terribly slow, it was almost unusable.

    • @dondamon443
      @dondamon443 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used Photoshop along time ago, and yes it was very slow. I had a partner that swore by it, but because it was so slow I moved to PSP and have been using ever since version 5. So yes, I am well versed on the features of PSP. I have a few plugins that I use, 3rd party apps. Unless it just stops working I'll keep my version 2019 for a bit longer.

      After I bought the 2019 version, each year I would get one of these sale popups telling me about the new and improved PSP. Frankly for the price, I don't see a need. If you just bought the 2022 version and saw this, be happy with what you have, it won't make it any better. Even though there are some small tweaks using third party apps to do most of the work.

    why are all your tutorials only for photos? i purchased your software because i was hoping its gonna be good for creating digital art from scratch (and im not happy with it, your 2000 version of psp had better tools for smudge and softening) and not just edit photos, do you even have ANY tutorials for creative artists or is it just for an average person and their photos? please respond

    I was looking to some enhanced features but am a bit disappointed. Noise reduction is nothing more than smudge and smear that removes all detail. Sharpening really falls short as well. Some of the artistic features such as scripts are nice but do not make up for the lackluster sharpening and disappointing noise reduction. Again the scripts are nice, but there is no live view, so you are reduced to first duplicating the layer, applying the script then either keeping the effect if you like it or undoing it if you do not. Making a duplicate layer ensures that the change is fully undo-able.
    I would recommend using a compatible plugin for sharpening and noise reduction but this mean that the program is highly overpriced even at the 50% off sale price. There are some nice features, but noise reduction and sharpening are 2 of 3 most important features, the other being light adjustment.

    Downloaded PSP2023 just now. And Corel should upgrade their "help" pages: I try to find how to resize a photograph (how do I do that???) and it shows info about PSP2018...
    How DO I resize a photograph?
    And that AI thing seems to be, kind of, not working. I choose an AI instant effect...and then what? Where is [OK]? Or the automatic changing of a photograph? What is this?
    * Ah, one has to double-click on an "AI effect"?
    * Geez...
    The UI is useless... Guess back to The GIMP, user-unfriendly as it is in its usage (or perhaps reinstall CGS14? Or why not Jasc PSP6 or CorelDraw Essentials 7 from back in the days?)
    (I LOVED PhotoPAINT)
    Luckily I didn't pay for this program.

    I came here to see what's new because I just saw Photoshop use their new Beta AI to repair and colorize a blurry, faded, old BW photo. Just two button clicks, no tracing, no selecting. It was jaw dropping. I see PSP is using the term "AI" but they are not offering anything close to this. I think they are going to lose their market share over this and they think the letters "AI" will trick us into buying this new version.
