Hi everyone, Steve here. In this video, I show you step-by-step how to turn text into gold with Photoshop. This update to my original gold text video from several years ago (and 3 million views later, thank you so much!!) includes all of the changes to Photoshop since then, especially with the brushes we need to add sparkles to the gold letters. And new in this Photoshop 2024 version, I take things further and show you how to remove the background behind the gold text, save it with a transparent background and even place it onto a different background. As always, I hope it's helpful and thank you foe watching!
One of the best instructional videos on TH-cam. The instructions are clear and done at a good pace with plenty of time to apply to a new document in Photoshop/! Thank you!
Steve, you are the best of not the best, my best. Wow i love the way you teach, i've been searching and i came across your channel. Man you are my best. Not like others that you can't even see what they are teaching. You zoom it clear for us to see everything...May God bless your project.
Steve thank you. This fascinated me.....I am trying to teach myself PS and have so much to learn.... Although I only do photos I am sure I can use this somewhere with practice. I have book marked this tutorial.
Thank you Steve I am a newbie in Photoshop and I really need this kind of tutorial from the beginning up to the end no short cut. I am looking forward to more of your tutorial specially in making logos and design.
Hi Steve I have questions, after creating this effect using the word Gold ,what will I do to apply it on another word without going through the whole process again….like saving the effect for reuse in another word .
This was a great tutorial, Steve! Thank you! I’d love to know how you did the gold splotches of light in the background that you copied to put in the front of the text as well. Did you and an outer glow to the crosshatch brush?
Can you group the two text layers? Would this help when you do want to edit the word or change the size? Would it edit both layers at the same time if they were grouped?
Very nice tutorial Steve. When this is done, is it possible to simply replace the word GOLD by another and still be able to preserve the effects? Thank you.
i'm looking video for Gold text in photoshop but didn't found much, but your video is very eaasy for me i did the same process and got the gold text #PhotoshopEssentials
Awesome 👍 HEYY I have 2 questions?? when adding a USB External Memory Drive to your PC. An adding it to photoshop. Is everything I’m working on automatically being saved to my External memory Drive. Or do I have to, keep saving it separately to it.thanks!! (2) can you show how to emboss super FINE Thine Detailed Lines on Images. Thank you & always much success to you & your business 👊
I can answer your first question quickly since I use multiple USB external drives. Saving your work on an external drive is great because if your main hard drive crashes, you won't lose all of your files. But you do still need to choose your external drive when saving. Photoshop won't save to your external drive automatically.

Great question! But no, grouping the text layers would make no difference. They would be still be separate, independent layers.
The best!!
Nice. Thank you.
Can you demonstrate how to create a bubble ? Like when you’re blowing bubbles? Thank you
Very nice tutorial Steve. When this is done, is it possible to simply replace the word GOLD by another and still be able to preserve the effects? Thank you.
Yes, but you'll need to change the word on both type layers. Also you would need to redo the sparkles since they wouldn't line up with the new word.
@@PhotoshopEssentialsChannel Awesome! Thank you, Steve.
Thanks a lot, didn't want to pay $27 for a logo and just made my own thanks to you 😊
Thanks so much
