Looks awesome! Do yourself a favor... get a Weathertech floorsaver mat for the rear floor. Besides protecting the carpet, it will prevent the wood from cutting into and damaging the carpet. And easier to clean and catch spills. When i bought my new truck, i order complete weathertech setup front and rear and also Carhartt seat covers from Covercraft.... no issues after 4 years....
Nice. I removed the passenger front and passenger rear seat from my F-150 and built a bed frame with plywood, 2x4, felt, and 6 inch memory foam mattress. Clothes are under the bed. I traveled all over the USA. The length of my sleeping bed is 7 foot long and still have the middle rear and driver side rear seat to lounge. I keep my fridge and microwave under the tonneau cover.
Thank you! Yes I can - the reason I put it that way is I usually fill it from the other side when I open the rear passenger door and it’s easier to fill and I can still reach it and pull stuff out. Thanks for commenting!
Great design and workmanship! And maybe I missed it but was wondering if you could also explain the DOT guidelines with a setup like this and RV transporting (i.e. dimensioning and HOS logging)?
Since this isn't considered a DOT approved sleeper berth, he wont be able to use sleeper berth for HOS logging(split sleeper for example). It'd just be off duty. As for the DOT requirements, just google "49 cfr 393.76" That should guide you on what a DOT approved sleeper berth is, including dimensions. While this setup could theoretically be considered DOT approved, I think there's a regulatory process that has to be done to actually get it approved. I can very well be wrong tho. Obviously, this is all assuming that is what you mean about guidelines. If not, I will try to help you the best I can!
Looks like what I did. I'm average height but couldn't lay flat so never could sleep good. I only did bumper pull. If I did it again I would put a topper on , have low profile fuel tank and have platform wheel well height and have a regular twin mattress with a 6.5 foot bed
@@TheRiverstoneLifejust be careful with anyone sleeping in the back while you’re working. The Towaway Couple did a video on this a few years ago. They ended up putting in a sleeper berth to comply with some sort of DOT regulation
I recently found your site and enjoy all the information My question is can you drive as a team? My wife and I plan on retiring in a couple of years she can easily handle our 40 foot fifth wheel. We both have commercial drivers licenses. I have a class a she has a class B we would like to supplement our income doing the same thing you are doing. But as a team we would be able to double our time delivering leaving more time for travel
Great question but unfortunately we don’t know the answer but we have met people where the husband hauls a fifth wheel or a travel trailer and the wife drives a drive RV and that is how they make it work as “team driving” this way they are both getting paid. That has been the only scenario we have seen.
I recently went through the Wave orientation, and can confirm you can do team driving. A couple was there doing exactly that. They both had class A's tho and came from Schneider. However, I doubt this will be an issue for you! Alas, they have a DOT approved sleeper berth on their truck. Not sure if that's a requirement for team driving or not, so it's something you will have to look into

@ load board update?
@russellpeveto-yk7ds it goes up and down daily but there are loads. We just got ours dispatched today with no issues.
Good job, Looks great, one suggestion can you turn cooler so the door opens to the microwave side.

Wow, that bed is really high. Nice job though, that carpeting did the trick.
Yeah it’s high but it doesn’t affect sleeping and the storage underneath is worth it being that high. Thanks for commenting!

How do you power the microwave?
With our little generator - we'll have a video coming out soon about that.

Looks great…did u have to trim the length of the twin mattress
Thank you! Yes I trimmed only the length of the mattress
Do u rhink it would be a issue if my truck was already set up like this before i come to orientation and get inspected
During my inspection with Wave they never looked inside the cab of my truck and other people have told me the same thing
Is this DOT legal? It looks nice!
Mind posting a link to the shocks?
Oh and the cooler you have. That's amazing compared to what I use!
