Sweet video Omni man keep up the good work! I really like the up and down quick shifter on this bike. That feature should come on EVERY bike made. Also just a fun fact, the Honda Goldwing has the idle up feature when releasing the clutch from a stop. What a sweet feature that is!
Cool stuff Omni Dude! Suzuki always make great bikes! I’m a bit old for the 8R and it does look great! I just wish the rims were painted black with either the blue or yellow colours. They are on the black version. I’m stoked you got to test ride this version! So similar to the fabulous 8S. Just waiting on the 450MT now to play on dirt a bit! very informative review, between the 8R and the new ninja ZX4RR what would you choose? im looking for a second bike to alternate with my naked bike for commute and weekend drive
I would pick the 8R. It's got the displacement to provide exceptional torque output in the low-mid range RPM, which is where you'll be living most of the time when you're commuting and weekend riding. The 4R is a very fun machine for the same purpose, but performance leaves a little left to be desired on that machine. A good compromise is the new Honda CBR650R - I just posted my review on that bike today! Check it out. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
I am up-to-snuff on all things MT-09. Working at the dealership I've actually gotten my hands on one a few times doing runs to the warehouse - It's as good as you're reading about. A truly phenomenal machine. Thanks for watching!
I was looking into the 2025 Ninja 650 but then I saw this bike and absolutely loving the look and the torque that it produces. As someone who never rode a motorized bike, which one do you think is better? I am taking the motorcycle classes and what not before I purchase my first street bike.
If the 650 was on your radar, then you should 100% be considering one of these instead IMO. This machine has tons of tech and rider aides to help you along the way with the learning curve. It is a bit heavier and more powerful though, so be mindful of its added capability and weight because the risk increases when those variables increase. This is hands down a better bike for the money, but the Ninja 650 has very few (if any) flaws other than being a little boring and long in the tooth for this class. If you come to the dealership mentioned in the video, we will actually sell you an 8R for cheaper than a Ninja 650 if price is something you're considering. My email is in the description if you'd like to inquire further. :)
Ninja 650 will be about 18 horsepower and 12 ft-lb down on the 8R. That's a big big difference. Also the 270° firing interval makes a much more interesting sound than the 180° setup.

A seasoned rider will enjoy this motorcycle. I think you’d be very happy with the 8R and its awesome capability, but keep in mind it is not a horsepower biased machine. It has excellent low & mid-range torque, but the engine pull beyond 110MPH does not deliver the same thrill as a smaller 600CC inline 4 cylinder. @@Omni_Moto that’s why I was really considering this bike. I had an R6 and it was a top end screamer which made it a terrible commuter bike which I did 16k miles before getting rid of it. Yeah they didn't have fully adjustable suspension. It's a price point thing. Full Adj suspension is wildly expensive. Ever priced a set of high end Showa? Ohlins? KYB? Just got my first service done a couple of days ago, and did the snorkel delete last night in about 15 minutes. Loving this bike, although on/off throttle jerkiness is a little annoying in stop and go traffic. Its currently my daily
I found the throttle was overall very smooth in modes B/C while mode A did provide that responsiveness I was looking for. Compared to a lot of other ride-by-wire systems, I felt it was adequate, but we all experience these machines different. Thank you for sharing your experience and tuning into the video! Ride safe.
Throttle jerkiness? Pfffffffffft. Try a Gen1 or Gen2 Yamaha MT-09 in A-mode if you want throttle jerkiness. But honestly, a twin cylinder bike is going to have a lot of grunt right off idle, they are slightly less forgiving than a 3 or 4 cylinder that way. Just the nature of the beast. It's what also makes them very entertaining around urban and suburban zones. Rip out of the hole hard and fast.

At 20K subs I'll be doing that. Until then, the helmet stays on. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👍
He's gonna have to use a lot of soap and cleaner in that liner. 😜
