Far too common. The courts and lawyers and therapists profit from lengthy custody battles. The children suffer severe child abuse, the alienated parent may also never recover financially or psychologically, it leads to higher suicide rates in both those parents and those children.
Betrayal Trauma, complicated grief, CPTSD, feeling isolated.
The alienating parent wants to hurt the other parent. But also hurts the children and other extended family members.
Sometimes grandparents die off, unable for them to say goodbye to the children
Parents go bankrupt for their children while the clock runs out and they turn 18. It's about money. Drain the wealth of the parties. The courts don't care about the children or justice.
The alienating parent will even get their family involved and turn the safe parents own family against them, further isolating them
