I was in her courtroom in 1993. She remanded me and sent me to a group home. A few months later I get a visit from Ruben Torres from The Dome Project. He told me he can get me out if I just continue going to school and not get into more trouble, and I did just that. I graduated high school and continued on with my education and never got in trouble again. I guess I was part of the 10 out of 1000 kids. I’m 44 now. Good job and beautiful children. I thank God, Judge Judy, my teachers & mentors from West Side High School and Youth Works 1997 program. (NY students travel to Israel for 3.5 months). There is hope for our youth. I caught this episode and was immediately enthralled. I chuckled and said now that's a cool judge. I was so delighted when they gave her her own show a few years later and I have been watching ever since. Judy rocks!
I'm one that loves Judge Judy, she puts up with no bull, outspoken and no nonsense. She calls out the failure of the legal system and the dirty laundry that most want not talked about. That's why people felt she was too hard. They prefer the judge that bases cases on pity and feelings over what is fact. I think if more judges did as she did there wouldn't be a constant overturning of court cases and prison time.
We did foster care for over 20 years in Wayne county Michigan...we needed a JJ in this county! Way over 200 foster children that needed a judge like her! What a joke we dealt with!
Man...if only we had her in some of our courtrooms today. I have watched countless trials and I'm going back in my mind and just imagining them with her as the judge. Nobody can say she isn't incredible!
She's a wonderful person. I saw her when I was living in the US about 20 years ago and have been watching her show ever since. It's hard in Europe because she's totally unknown here. I can only watch her on youtube. I've seen every episode and her show never bores me.
I love Judge Judy! You can see how much she truly cares, but also that she won’t tolerate any bs. That’s exactly what those families needed. I love watching her shows, and always have. It’s so cool seeing this video and knowing that how she is on tv is exactly how she is irl. Love it, thank you for sharing!

I always wished I was as confident a person like Judge Judy she seems so sure of herself its really inspiring. She is a judge with zero quackery. I love how she is so passionate she isnt there just for a paycheck but to make a difference.
As a petite woman like Judge Judy, (I'm 4'11), I figured out early, that to get people, mostly children, to behave and do the right thing, you have at act a little harder, speak a little tougher, to get your point across without violence. I detested hitting my boys, I had 4 of them, all right around 6 ft tall by 17. I knew that if I didn't get control early, my job was going to be a lot harder. I raised 4 of my mother's 8 children, one from an infant the day she walked through the door with him and placed him in my arms and said, "here's your baby". I was 10. I also didn't live with my mother until that time. She gave up 4 of her daughters, 2 to strangers, my sister to my great aunt, and me being the oldest kinda went to who would take me. I was easy and self reliant. My mother needed me to help her, again at 10. I didn't know her well, and now, 59 years later, we have no relationship. I'm OK with that. She wasn't a grade A mother, but she did somehow keep a roof over our heads and food in our stomachs. I'll give her that. But I was treated differently. I was a good kid, didn't get into trouble, and cared for my siblings with no violence, no hitting. I'm turning this into a book, sorry, 😔. My point primarily, is that I learned early my size was against me. My mouth had to do the heavy lifting.
You can tell that she legitimately cares about every case she hears. As someone who's worked in the Family Court, I can tell you that that's not something you can say about every judge.
@@LuckyCharms777 You can care about your job while being impartial. Judges who care listen to the facts of the case and think about the points of law in contention. Judges who don't care ruin people's lives on a whim because they didn't get to have coffee that morning and were in a bad mood.
@@LuckyCharms777 this statement shows that you don't really grasp the role of a "Judge." If the law were so exact that we could just follow it impartially then we wouldn't need judges, we would just flow people through a computer. Of course a judge is influenced by their personalities and level of care.
Reporter: Do you think 10 years from now things are gunna be better or worse here" Judy: Worse, a lot worse. She said that without any hesitation and my word was she ever right...
Family Court in both the Bronx and NYC is the fifth circle of hell. Judges don't give a fuck, kids are removed from their parents, they let the child welfare workers delay the case for 3 years while they 'investigate' (i.e., procrastinate even opening the file), then return the children home and wonder why they are fucked up after being forcibly stripped from their parents for years during a developmental age. Its fantastic stuff
shes 99.99% right she gotta hellava noggin sittin on her shoulders...gotta love this woman she tells it how it is with like you said with no hesitation in her answers
As someone who’s been thru the ringer in family courts, for 9 years. My god I wish we had more like her. No funny bullshit! Tired of how the courts drain the pockets of not only families fighting for a small voice but all the people involved who also fight.
The only people who had beef with her, were those who knew they were wrong. Simple. She is an excellent Judge and all Judges should be like her. Especially those who work for the Family Courts. She may be short in height or temper, but she is strong in commitment for the children and justice. A fiery hardworking woman. I wish all those in the worlds court system follow her lead. God bless her.
I have always loved judge Judy and didn't think I could love and respect her more than what I did and after watching this I absolutely do adore her and respect her most highly!
When she's being interviewed she comes across almost like a concerned, but strong and stern mother. Its cool seeing her out of the courtroom, but still tough as nails. She looks very lovely in that suit too.
She is a judge. This interview has nothing to do with being a mom. This is 2020! It is okay to have other goals! Women are capable of doing things that have nothing to do with getting pregnant. That is good, but have more goals is good too.
I absolutely Love Judge Judy ! She is strick and to the point , she cuts through the BS.and doesn't sugar coat anything, and many people need that if they are infront of a judge !! She's a very intelligent women with a big heart !!
Same woman all these years later. Not a fake bone in her body. In the court, with the cases she’s this fierce, tigress of a judge, outside of it all she’s pretty sweet, submissive and laid back. Always intelligent always quick. I respect her!
I'm a huge fan of Judge Judy. We need more women to step up with that insistence on honesty & to have a better grasp on their worth. She is truly amazing.
True, think of what she's had to deal with. The turmoil and pain she's seen. She gets straight to it, she's harsh sometimes and I wouldn't call her assertive, more ball busting lol but she has to be. No room to be polite with some of these types
That’s akin to when I was in elementary school. I had had quite a harsh and strict teacher, and I used to think that she was mean, but I know now that her methods were necessary, given how behaviorally difficult I was at that time. She has truly helped me be the better person I am to this day!
I really envy her assertiveness and her clear boundaries that she can put down. I feel like if i would be in court i wouldfucking cry if she would talk to me like that lol
Judge Judy's shows demonstrate more about logic and critical thinking than they do about law. She is admired because she executes swift deductive logic and communicates it with clarity and concision. I love her. She is a role model.
Being in the UK I've never seen this before as we don't get 60 minutes (or not back then). Say what you like about Sheindlin now & her show, she was amazing here, really on it & not taking all the BS from the idiots before her; that Commissioner was truly dreadful, a real pen pusher!! You know what she's got, that so many don't have today - COMMON SENSE - it's better then most degrees!! xx
Commissioner was another parasite of many in that system just like JJ said. Nine of them to deal with one kid. Plus he badmouthed her off camera but no balls to say it to the world. JJ has seen a lot of parasites ripping off the taxpayer and still does on her TV show. Look at the # she sees on Section 8 and others collecting some bs "disability". One recent guy, "disabled", his caregiver who he has 3 kids with, gets paid to look after him. So Section 8 and paid for this disability which sure wasn't obvious. Responsible for $2 of his $1600 a month rent and he didn't even pay the $2. You can't make crap like that up.

I love Judge Judy for what she represents. She’s tough but fair and can sense a lie before the person finishes. Her quick rulings often leave me in awe. I can truly say she has taught me a thing or two about contracts and I’m grateful she is still in practice today.
Imagine if she was the US President, the world would be saved. Hi, how are you doing?
Judge Judy is absolutely amazing. I have worked for litigation trial attorneys for 30 years and they would have all been terrified! She truly is a rare gem, incredibly dedicated, and absolutely brilliant. I have nothing but the highest respect and admiration for her 💖
She is the real deal. We need more judges like this.
Yes we do.
I will FOREVER love me some Judge Judy because she is REAL & RAW!!!
Right now we need about 2 million Judge Judy’s. God bless Her
I like how she runs her courts. She is clear that this isn't a tea party.

What a great little piece to watch. I love judge Judy, I love her sassiness and her truthfulness and to see her when she was in family court years ago is an absolute gem.
I would love to watch those
Judge Judy is tough, real and a pleasure to watch in action. Thank you, your Honor!
She is so New York! 🤣🤣🤣
Rafael -- Just what is it that makes you hate Jews so much? I've heard that hateful garbage all my 70 years and really wonder what you're hoping to achieve by it. Want 'em al gone? Ain't gonna happen. Afraid of a Jew lawyer coming after you? Could happen. I'd assume you're a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ AKA King of the Jews.
I always imagined her to be southern, and I have no idea why. Clearly she’s a yankee.
Rafael -- I just assumed that was the case when I saw your "Jew York" comment. Why else would you post such a comment?

I just love her so much. I am her admirer from Russia. Her common sense is what my people need in these terrible times. God bless her!
Man...if only we had her in some of our courtrooms today. I have watched countless trials and I'm going back in my mind and just imagining them with her as the judge. Nobody can say she isn't incredible!
You are absolutely correct! Refreshing to hear from a young person!
She's a wonderful person. I saw her when I was living in the US about 20 years ago and have been watching her show ever since. It's hard in Europe because she's totally unknown here. I can only watch her on youtube. I've seen every episode and her show never bores me.
She’s well known world wide Wdym?
Jag tror faktisk många i Sverige vet vem hon är. Hon är så authentic
She’s very well known in Europe….
Now there is a TH-cam channel for judge Judy
there will never be another one like her... Judge Judy rocks!!! Love her. Her verbal talking skill is so sharp and awesome
Judge Judy has never changed. She is exactly the same today. I love that about her. She is smart and always gets the truth out of people. Amazing. I have always loved her strict attitude and personality.

Her reaction & answer to his last question at the end was priceless! "WORSE, A LOT WORSE". I wonder what she'd have to say now 30 years later.
She is not insensitive to the needs of the people she serves she is smart enough to see ...... See the ones that are abusing the system..... If you havent done anything wrong you dont have anything to worry about

I always wished I was as confident a person like Judge Judy she seems so sure of herself its really inspiring. She is a judge with zero quackery. I love how she is so passionate she isnt there just for a paycheck but to make a difference.
❤️
Agreed, she should teach a Ted Talk on confidence and assertive communication
When I was younger, I couldn't stand her. Now that I'm older and (hopefully) wiser, I wish there were way more people like her.
You can tell that she legitimately cares about every case she hears. As someone who's worked in the Family Court, I can tell you that that's not something you can say about every judge.
She's better than that Pirro.
You don’t need to care, just follow the law. Once you introduce caring then you introduce inequality and special treatment.
Are you an attorney?
@@LuckyCharms777 You can care about your job while being impartial. Judges who care listen to the facts of the case and think about the points of law in contention. Judges who don't care ruin people's lives on a whim because they didn't get to have coffee that morning and were in a bad mood.
@@LuckyCharms777 this statement shows that you don't really grasp the role of a "Judge." If the law were so exact that we could just follow it impartially then we wouldn't need judges, we would just flow people through a computer. Of course a judge is influenced by their personalities and level of care.
Reporter: Do you think 10 years from now things are gunna be better or worse here"
Judy: Worse, a lot worse.
She was right, it got worse.
Conrad Ritchie yeeeeeep
As someone who’s been thru the ringer in family courts, for 9 years. My god I wish we had more like her. No funny bullshit! Tired of how the courts drain the pockets of not only families fighting for a small voice but all the people involved who also fight.
The coffee (or should I say, cawwfeeee) mug says "She who must be obeyed". LOVE IT!!!!
@@Michelle-pn9xt he said like. It's a metaphor. She prides herself in how she mothered, btw.

Hello 👋how are you doing?
I like when she gets a family case on her show. It’s amazing to watch her work. That’s always been her lane.
She can't stand incompetence. I couldn't agree more.
“10 years from now was 2003”... I think it’s safe to say things are worse in 2020 than in 2003.
Amazing woman, she has served its people to the best of her ability, always. She warms my heart because she's honest and she cares.
I love Judge Judy!!! She's a NO BS PERSON!! VERY FRANK AND TO THE POINT!!! THIS COUNTRY NEEDS MORE LIKE HER!!!
“You were trying to scare the hell out of that kid?”

This video just shows why Judge Judy deserves all the success she's enjoyed on TV. She's excellent and hard-working.
She’s a damn great judge and I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be standing in front of her lol
I absolutely Love Judge Judy ! She is strick and to the point , she cuts through the BS.and doesn't sugar coat anything, and many people need that if they are infront of a judge !! She's a very intelligent women with a big heart !!
OMG i have been obsessed with JJ since the 90s. Amazing footage!
Same woman all these years later. Not a fake bone in her body. In the court, with the cases she’s this fierce, tigress of a judge, outside of it all she’s pretty sweet, submissive and laid back. Always intelligent always quick. I respect her!
Indeed, she's just as nasty now as she was. Family Court is the last place for a "fierce, tigress" of a judge. She's just a bench bully. Faceit.
8:10
She walks into that building knowing she's ready to deal with another day of bullcrap.
It's so funny to see she was busting out "BALONEY" long before the TV show lol.
I'm a huge fan of Judge Judy. We need more women to step up with that insistence on honesty & to have a better grasp on their worth. She is truly amazing.
How about we need more no nonsense judges 🤔 why just women??
My grandma loved Judge Judy because she was just like her. Rest in peace Grandma
"...But I've got a very good memory *SIR* "
She comes off as harsh but I think it’s because she actually cares. As opposed to the stale indifference of other judges.
We must have different definitions of harsh because I don’t see her as harsh at all.
She looks so pretty with her dark hair! She should keep her natural hair color.
I'm sure she still has her natural hair color. It just got lighter because she got older. She's in her 70s now.
I'm sure that's not by choice.
Lett letts yeah keep her natural hair colour. WHITE.
Lett letts she was lovely looking wasn’t she? Big brown eyes too,
She's 78 now lol

And this is why Judge Judy has millions and millions of dollars and she damn well deserved it!😎
I really envy her assertiveness and her clear boundaries that she can put down. I feel like if i would be in court i wouldfucking cry if she would talk to me like that lol
I love she has seen it all before and doesn't accept bs. She deals with deadbeats and knows how she has to speak to them to get her point across.
SHE is a phenomenal person and it is really about common sense and logic when it comes to human behavior.
10:51 LMAO The humor in the 1990s was top tier
3:41 I love how she was about to say "Bullshit" but stopped herself and switched to Baloney
This proves she’s very genuine. I love her! 🙏🏼❤️
Judge Judy's shows demonstrate more about logic and critical thinking than they do about law. She is admired because she executes swift deductive logic and communicates it with clarity and concision.
I love her. She is a role model.
She's awesome, doesn't play games, I have mad respect for her!
Being in the UK I've never seen this before as we don't get 60 minutes (or not back then). Say what you like about Sheindlin now & her show, she was amazing here, really on it & not taking all the BS from the idiots before her; that Commissioner was truly dreadful, a real pen pusher!! You know what she's got, that so many don't have today - COMMON SENSE - it's better then most degrees!! xx
I can get you usa cable through streaming facebook.com/TacoTvStreamz/
@:Mark-edward: Duck. Good law should be & hopefully is based on common sense, do you to think those 2 things are separate or different is worrying!
I think you need at least a bachelor and masters degree to become a judge 🤣
She speaks her mind, that's what I adore about her.
Truly God bless Judge Judy. One of the mainstays of my entire life.
This is the type of person we need on the Supreme Court.
Yea we need someone with no empathy
She would not be good striking down actual laws.
You got to be kidding, what a disaster that would be
You can tell her grandson loved her so much with that kiss he gave her 😍

I don't think the attacks on her are justified. She's tough for sure, but as far as I've seen, she seems very fair.
She hasn’t changed all theses years. I love her!!
She was tough because she was in a tough position. She was dealing with important issues that required a strong judge. She was it. Period
