❤wish you were hear
I came across this site recently. I`m 69 years old, and you have re-ignited an interest in classic rock tunes. Time to pull out my 67 Gibson SG and relive the enjoyment of yesteryear! Subscribed from Ontario Canada.
Good for you! 73 y/o here; trying to play just a few chords on my Takamine
Witam z niemiec
Wycignalem les Paula mam 66 lat

Just stumbled up this video and have to say that beyond the simple demonstration of progressions used in these classics, the most important element in every one of them is the ability to weave melody around these simple structures. Music does not have to be complicated to be great. In fact, it is often quite the opposite. I wish people these days spent more time on melody and far less time trying to impress their friends with shredding.
Great lesson. Please next songs from 50s & 60s.
Paranoid by Black Sabbath was my main inspiration to start learning guitar. A guitarist played it at a school talent show and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Thanks Andy.
Great sound
Andy learned more off in a month, than the last 10yrs with even tutors...thank you.
Great list!!! Thank you!🎸
Omg Andy this will keep me immersed for a very long time. Do the same for the 80's as well as the 60's please❤
thanks a ton, Andy! Really energized to play today.
Great as usual!!! Many thanks from Brazil
Lovely lesson!!
Cheers Tommy Fleetwood!
Excellent (as always) - thank you Andy - we owe you much......
Great lessons!!
Thanks a lot great job !!
Thanks Andy ! ! Well layed out and easy to understand. Thumbs up Brother ! !
These bring back a lot of memories.
One small point: the Paranoid intro is played with the low E string open. Toni did this often to get a fatter sound because there was no other guitar to fill that role.
Absolutely Brilliant !!!
Thank you sir, been a drummer for 44 years. Now starting the guitar, appreciate you 😊
Marc Bolan & T.REX - Jeepster - Get It On - Ride A White Swan - 20th Century Boy - The Groover
To me this was a gold mine, thank you!!!!!!
Excellent, cheers from Canada....
Andy this was sick I loved it man
Great tips thanks for sharing.
So awesome.
Brilliantly Chosen Tracks 👍
Thank you for what you do
Thank you bro !
I think your video is fantastic for beginners. It gives them confidence to keep at it.many people are so intimidated by the big picture.once you can play easy , clean chords, they realize you don't have to go up against blackmore, or clapton ,It sounds good and it's fun! Most rock groups don't use many chords,as this video demonstrates When you increase your confidence , you can learn the links played in the solos. Not everyone can be famous,or it wouldn't be difficult! Most people that can play creatively on solos have played a minimum of 8 years of daily learning. I got signed at 18,quit high school and never looked back. I am 71 and still play my 81 les paul or my new sg!!!
Thanks Andy.
Andy, you are awesome!
Very nice l loved it a lot l will practise these songs
Only so many notes 🎶 Thank you Andy
Great job
Nice one Andy, these ones are super fun! Also, would love to see more electric guitar with how to get the right tone!
Use a nice guitar through a nice amp, with the amp being the most important bit imho. I do who where to put the gain in this video pretty clear too, no?
Awesome🤘🤘🤘
Excellent bro
⚓️ Thanks Andy 🇬🇧
Great and Thanx :)
Nice job there andy😎🎸👍
Thanks brou you are num one!....
AWESOME !!! Greetings from Poland !!!
Great video Andy and some good songs.
Thanks for watching! What video should I do next?
The 50's and 60's
Brilliant👍
Super lesson, I wish someone did My old friend the blues.
Great lesson! Would love to see Shelter From The Storm by Bob Dylan!
Thank you
Brilliant 👏💯🙋♂️
thank you young man
That SG sounds amazing in Paranoid
Thanks for showing how to achieve those tones too 😎👍
Jim Croce , John Prine, Cat Stevens, Argent , Kristopherson , Bad Company,Ted Nugent.
Good video. I was throwing out first ones popped into the addled brain
Some great suggestions there!
I am dying for a late beginner or low intermediate tutorial for Time in a Bottle, Operator, Bad Bad Leroy Brown, etc!
Merci 🙏
Let's see you play Harry Chapin!
Not just 'Cat's In The Cradle' because musically, it's probably his easiest song.
Chapin used some crazy chords. He was an incredibly underrated singer / songwriter.
Hey Andy…there’s one you could’ve added to the list that has both acoustic and electric parts and I believe there’s just four chords….Boston, “More Than a Feeling”…or Skynyrd’s, “Sweet Home Alabama”. Oh and lest I forget, ZZ Top’s, “La Grange”.
Cheers fella
Genialll great video saludos from Argentina world champion
Capo 3 or 4 on Go Your Own Way? Said one and used another.. played it on 3 so that’s it I assume. Thanks
Hey Andy, glad the TH-cam algorithms lead me to your channel. I thumbs up and subscribe. I think mother and Child Reunion by Paul Simon might fall into that category. I guess it might depend on the way you play it. I was a teenager in the 70s so I’m old. But I clearly remember trying to play fins by Jimmy Buffett and the first part sounded like the first verse of mother and Child Reunion. So I switched and learned to play mother and child reunion instead… One of the first songs I figured out without looking at any music.
Nice work, Andy cannot wait to check out some of your other videos.
The opening riff of Paranoid has the open low E.
Turn the Page by Bob Seger only has 4 chords. Em---D---A---C
Great lesson Andy, like all your lessons. What model Stratocaster is that? Is that American Standard Strat?
For fleetwood Mac you said “capo on 4th” then played with capo at the 3rd.
I saw that too. 😂
God forbid he should make a mistake, how about enjoy the free content and just adjust very slight mistakes on your own, quit bitching
❤bientôt une puce dans la tête preprograme et ça ira comme si on joue depuis longtemps sans apprendre 😊😊
You could have made this whole video on the Velvet Underground. They made their career on 3 and 4 chord songs. It's not about being complicated, it's how you play it!
Omg!! I love AC.DC
yes I'd like to learn these with the music
Hey Andy, love everything you do! Also was wondering what are the strings you use on your acoustic? Keep delivering awesome tutorials, you've genuinely helped us all ALOT❤
I use Ernie Ball Earthwood phosphor bronze 12s 👍
hello
I just fitted some D'Addario Super lights to my Yamaha LL16 acoustic
the G string is unwound
sounds lightweight
I am going back to D'Addario Extra lights [G string is wound]
Good luck
keep picking
try a few brands and choose your preference ✌
Cool 😎
Andy you kill that riff absolutely classic pink Floyd very clean from those chords I love it my request hit of led zeppelin good times bad times is in the 60s you missed that one out mate
Hi Andy, cool lesson! You get a great sound out of the Strat…it looks like a 62 AVRI, but knowing you it probably isn’t?
ty vm bro
Hi Andy
thanks for posting
can you prepare similar song set for Christmas tunes
two months out
we can practice to prepare again
Many thanks👋👋✌
The Eagles? Any of their songs, they ROCK!!!
The trouble with illustrating Eagle’s, songs is copyright! … they not only want your first born, but their lawyers will actually come to your home and steal away your 2nd and 3rd born too! … they are ruthless, and so will you be, if you have a daughter named Ruth!😂
Love the sound of that Faith acoustic guitar. so chiming! Which model is that??
Groovy Baby 10-4 Northern USA Take Care
Wow! Thanks for doing the 70's! I think I may have asked for that in comments, but you were probably planning to do this anyway! :)
Thanks for suggesting it! Always good to know I'm on the right track ✌️
Danke
The Jean Genie would be a great addition. ☺️☺️👨🎤
Cool
I love knocking on hevens door but I know the GNR version but I know that song
Time you did Sylvia by Focus beautiful
I love the strumming for knocking on heaven door, can you send me the pattern
Very interesting vidéo... thanks 😊
Andy you have such a wonderful voice 😍 i love your album i love that one song infinity and home town and this is not the end of love ❤ you should make a new album you have such good and amazing talent 🥰😘🎸
Aw shucks, bless you for saying so 😀 I will definitely do more in the future, but I would really like the next one to be collaborative. It's just more for that way (and often faster when you find the right people).
GOD AND JESUS BLESS YOU 🙏 Andy and love you I hope you find the a way GOD LOVES us all and you are a very sweet man MAY GOD SHINE HIS LOVE ON ALL OF US 🙏💖🥰🌴🌼
Love it!!!! Do you play any songs by led zeppelin??
You saved the best for last!
I didn't see nothing hard about making these chords shapes and you could end up being the life of the party
Burning love Elvis
Brilliant Andy you've made my day. Love that Gibson btw
🧐 Andy can shred 👍🏻
Add a fifth chord for Freebird! Love that Highway made the list.
Add 3 guitarists, 2 of whom know how to do the solos correctly, or don't bother, oh yeah, and one needs to be really good on slide, that 3rd guitarist and the bass player need to know all the rhythmic changes. This post by the organisation against bad covers.
Hi Andy, could have put in Pretty Vacant, best opening riff ever.
Hi Andy would you please tell me the model Faith Guitar you play, it’s sound really nice
We know you meant capo on 3rd!😊
I hope so! 😂
LYNYRD SKYNYRD
Toll
DAN FOGELBURG:LEADER OF THE BAND! MY FAVE!
I saw the title and laughed! 70s songs - 4 chords. How about 60s songs - 3 chords, 80s songs - 5 chords, 90s songs-2 chords. ext... good suff! thank you for making this.
As always AXEsone 🎸 re Highway to Hell.....
I play bass or should I say I try to 🤔 and one of my problems is learning and remembering chord sequences on which to base the bass. Your channel is a great help as is your methods
Only recently did a friend say when I see Dsus2/F# the appropriate bass note is F#.
I looked online and came away with lots of information and a headache .
Is this always ish true?
If I played D, in this instance , would it sound bad or simply less good.
You might say try both l but the problem is I don't have the best hearing or the best music player in the business and I'm never sure.
It was the same at school with spellings "try both ways" but when I did that they both look 😢😢😢
