what I like from this tutorial is that you're simple, and easy to learn for anyone with a slight experience in blender. i've been using blender for almost 2 months, and i can see what you were doing very easily, and it's a whole lot better when you know some other things in blender to make this easier. I always wanted to try something else new, and i was looking for a video in anxiety because i knew that it would be irritating, but your video was the opposite of irritating. It was straight to the point, and was fun to learn!
@@wesleytillman9774 Yeah if you’re referring to sitting on a chair then fair enough. But anything requires the usage of your brain is tough for any beginners
Anybody else get the ASMR vibes? All I can hear is when his voice goes up at the end of every sentence. It cracks me up and I love it. Also, this tutorial kicked off my interest in particle physics with Blender. Super fun. Super cool. Thanks for making it!!
There is a button that says flow. Have that checked true on frame one and hit the diamond next to it, and on the frame you want it to stop, check it false, and then hit the diamond again
I didnt know it takes hours to make these. Do you have any tuts for simple card smoke. I just want to add some smoke effect for my still renders. Like a creature in a forest with some basic foggy smoke around?
hey i need help, everytime i did a smoke effect, the smoke never puffs upwards even though i have used adaptive domain/ increase the domain scale. It always ends up blocked at a certain height as if there was an invisible ceiling. Again i already scale up the domain size yet this invisible ceiling doesn't go away
I once asked my VFX supervisor on the workflow on the smoke sim with phoenix FD, he said you should simulate part of the smoke one chunk at a time and combine them later, what does he mean? wonder if people do the same with blender smoke sim...
hi lets say I have a bumpy ground as a collision object with a desert shader and I want to have the visual effect of a moving sand by the wind like dust when wind blows across the ground using mantaflow, is a bit tricky since it has a specific connected particles pattern which I find very hard to achieve with the mantaflow basic parameters
For me, the "all" option completely makes the smoke disappear. "Modular" also does so. The only working one is the "replay", and that doesn't even simulate. Just kind of spawns the smoke in a stiff frame. I really don't like how they butchered the simulations in blender. Fluids became better with mantaflow but smoke and fire is now objectively worse, overcomplicated, extremely buggy that gives me flashbacks to 3DsMax and half the features don't even work. Instead of just adding geometry nodes in the next update, they should've spent a couple more years polishing Mantaflow. If not for the Cycles denoiser, I'd go back to Blender 2.79 just to simulate smoke.
Great tutorial, very simple to follow for a beginner like myself! I'm having one problem though, when I add the quick smoke effect, and I try to rescale the domain, the smoke also rescales and if I move the domain, the smoke moves as well. Is there any way I can fix this?
Can someone please help me a d respond to my comment I would be grateful. I made it to the end but the quality is hideous. I tried to increase max samples in both render and viewport, but it’s doing nothing. I put everything like in the video. I even followed steps acording to chat gtp to increase the quality with no results. Why is the quality so bad? Thank you.
because if the render crashes, you loose the whole video, but if rendered in pictures first, A you can export to whatever format you wish in a matter of seconds, and if it crashes you just render from the frame it crashed, saving loads of time if it does
@@jonathantunstall1392 Also it looks like that AVI sometimes alters the lighting slightly...atleast for me. Especially when it comes to dark locations with alot of artificial area lights.
It must be me, but my smoke looks different from the tutorial. at the same frame, following the same instructions, my smoke looks much wider, whereas the tutorial smoke is much thinner, higher and moves faster. I'm so confused as to why it's so different.
just set the frame start in the timeline to five, but leave the cache frame start to 1, or y'know, just cut the first few frames in iMovie, that works just as well

I love how soft spoken your voice is. It makes the tutorial very much so all the more enjoyable.

great tutorial as usual
Wow! I will definitely be subscribing to this channel!

thank you for the simplicity
Great vid, is there a way to select what frame the smoke can come in on and stop emitting on???

Wow thanks for this tutorial man, it'll really helped me out in my next render!
my simulation was not appearing in render view
@Arthur_Leywin Did you find a fix?
exactly what I was looking for 😊

How do you create a pool of smoke that does not move in any direction? Like a swimming pool. Because by default it always moves up.
when i rende it its just white cube in nothing

How did you render such a long frames animation?

is there a way this can be turned in to a ydr prop for fivem
If the Bake All button is greyed out, double check that you're in Object Mode.
It wont work for me the domain is getting rendered but not the smoke and on cycles render engine it doesnt render the smoke at all

Well it's a simulation within blender so you'd need to export a picture or video, not a static 3d-model.
Scaling the smoke domain broke it for me, not sure why :/
can i import to unity ?
Blender don't show me smoke render, help! 😰
