I didn't hear anyone calling him the "NIGHT KING." Nor did I hear him being called The king of the dead or King Walker or the dead leader. How did you manage to nail it with the right name? He's not even in the books, you must have an uncanny ability in picking the right lottery numbers. Anyone originally watching the show, at this point, HAD NO CLUE, what his name was. Don't get ahead of yourself. Sophie is watching the show for the first time, GENIUS!!!

"Gather the elders and let's talk" is still one of the best lines after beating the lord of bones to death. Tormund is my fav wildling!
I like how they subtly evoke the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, with the four White Walkers on horseback up on the cliff.
That staredown between Jon and the Night King will forever be iconic.
Your reaction to jons sword killing a white walker was just like mine 😄 The Valarian steel finally payed off in a great way.
i used to thing varelian steel was just a marketing stuff.
Without anything spooky to kill, it kinda was. It was pretty much relegated to being fancy steel.
this is why a wall is raised to the sky, and from coast to coast! and here is the true value of Valyrian steel! one of the most important and well-made episodes.and that "crow king"... it gives you goosebumps!
Any time you start feeling bad for Cersei, just remember, she's the one who made all of this Faith Militant storyline possible.
Finally, the episode is recorded and in the bag, I can admit w/o spoiling that this is my #1 by far. Still get chills from the last scene with Jon staring back over the water.

Yes, *Season 5* is where Jon's storyline peaked.
Best single episode character in the show. Build someone to care about and have her die horribly within half an hour. So good.
Just a note for continuity. The army of the dead has a standard (well sort of) military chain of command:
The guy with the spikes on his head that raised the dead at the end of the episode is The Night King; The dead that are dressed in armor (and, oddly enough, usually ride dead horses) are the Wight Walkers; and the foot soldiers of the dead are the Wights.
*white walkers. The foot soldiers are wights though.
and everything about white walkers show us that Valyrians (Targaryens) are their greatest weakness... Dragons (fire), Valyrian steel and dragonlass (Dragonstone in otherword Targaryen's ancestral castle).

I believe Qyburn's devotion to Cercei is due to her bringing him up from virtually nothing. He was an ostracized Maester who had been travelling with a ruthlezs band of sellswords and mercenaries paid by Tywin Lannister. Then left for dead at Harrenhal, and just happened to be there to help Jaime. And only because he was able to save the Mountain that Cercei found use for him. If he wasnt faithful to he he would be dead.
Daenerys and Tyrion have not yet met in the books.

Dany wants to break the wheel only AFTER she gets the throne... probably so that NP one can unseat her or the Targaryan clan. But I think the only way that would be possible is for her to destroy ask the other Houses.

If you can find one flaw in John snow..... I'm aware there's more than one...... But maybe the biggest flaw that you can find in John snow, The one that constantly gets him in trouble. It is his complete and utter lack of tact.

WTF JON!?!? Dude is alone and entirely surrounded by people who hate him. And he puts it like THAT? Smh.
Plus he is constantly correcting people North of the wall who call him a Southerner. That is basic knowledge of directions. John lives South of the wall so to the wild wings hes a Southerner. Doesn't even need explaining but John can't Even bother being politely silent.
Also, I know you really love this show. I don't know if you are watching house of the dragon yet or if you plan on waiting till you finish Game of Thrones.
On the chance you aren't watching it yet let me pump you up like crazy for it. House of the dragon is, by most accounts including mine, Even better than Game of Thrones ever was. It just finished up it's very 1st season and that is what people have been saying since episode 2 or 3. You get a lot of themes and events that you never noticed were not in Game of Thrones, And that you also never knew you needed. And dragons...... holy shit the dragons

One of my favorite episodes. Not No. 1 but definitively in my Top 5.
This episode was amazing. The best of the season imo and one of the strongest in general. Mostly for that ending battle. I just had so many moments of "oh my god!" when I was watching. I loved how it played out. Jon was a total BA this episode, when he killed that walker, YASSSSS. Finally a good episode for him.
Theon and Sansa are amazing. I love watching them together. Both of them are such phenomenal actors and I love their storyline. I can't wait for the day they get their revenge on Ramsay.
Arya's storyline this episode was a bit odd to me, idk. I want it to progress faster.
Tyrion and Dany are just dfsfsdfdsfsds. I am so happy they are interacting and I love their scenes together so much. I bet the actors loved finally getting to play opposite each other. Their banter is everything. Dany's line "I am going to break the wheel" was amazing.

There's a theory about the farm boy Theon killed. That they were actually his bastards sons. Valaryan steel is actually Dragonglass his melted into steel using dragon fire.

Best episode of the show so far for me, I must agree with you. However, as great of an episode this was, there are at least 2 that are more action packed than this one. Something to look forward to. Great reaction.

Why? Cersei is just a woman who is good at playing the game of thrones. Yes, she has pride, and this pride has ruined her. And Cersei will pay a hundredfold for this.
It's ok to feel sympathy for bad people when they're humiliated like cersei was. It has nothing to do with others and everything to do with our humanity.
Nah, she deserves all she gets. I've always known the main motivation for sympathy for her was what the sparrows were written to represent, falsely I might add.

The "why now" is a problem with the writing in these last few seasons: it's just a dramatic coincidence. It is still a helluva episode. But it is a sign of things to come - the show starts to lean towards the dramatic effect, with the patient storytelling gradually losing ground to the cinematic.
Is it related to Hardhome though? It did happen in the books
@@didinau Its about the way these scenes are executed. Dont get me wrong hardhome is still one of my favourite episodes on the show, but you still see the shift here. Tbh i think you can start to see it creep in during season 4, especially 5. That along with running out of source material or just choosing not to include certain book only plotlines it what starts derailing the whole thing
Why?Why couldn't it happen at that time?Maybe they knew Jon would be coming at that time and try to kill the leader.
Do you really think Jon was in any real danger? It's not as if the writers were going to kill him off by having him over run by a swarm of the undead. That wouldn't be very fitting for Jon to go out in that way. The whole Tyrion telling Dany not to execute Jorah was pretty lame. She banished him under penalty of death for betraying her, then he comes back and she simply banishes him again? It doesn't matter if Jorah loved her and seems to be devoted to her. She should have executed him on the spot; that would have sent a message that if you betray your ruler, you forfeit your life. But I guess Jorah wants to die, because now he wants to go back AGAIN. GoT has some brilliant writing, but this is really weak.
I’m team Cersei all the way, and yes, you’ll probably be feeling pity for her by the end of the season.
