For combos, the ideal goal is to keep a combo going, as Batman gets faster, stronger and unlocks more moves the higher your combo count is. A few things will break the combo-- 1) Getting hit 2) Staying still for more than a second 3) Entering Gadget Mode 4) Punching air (hence no button mash!) 5) Rolling more than once in a row 6) Rolling then standing still 7) Using a gadget twice in a row. 8) Mashing counter or randomly punching the air. Avoid these pitfalls and see how powerful your Batman can be as he bounces off each thug like a pendulum with no stopping his momentum
I'm not a fan of Croc's Lair. Not because it scares me, but this section just seems tedious to me. You can't go fast otherwise Croc gets you right off the bat (no pun intended), you have to get several samples spread throughout the sewers, and you don't even really get to fight Croc. It just seemed like they added this mission to pad out the length of the game. What I do like is the music when he comes out of the water and comes after Batman. No matter how many times you play this section when you hear his roar, and the music you know he's coming and you're just trying to figure out from where. Like in the movie Jaws when the theme song plays before an attack.
this is such a uniquely interesting youtube playthrough im glad to have witnessed many people play this for the first time, the way these experiences differ from one another is astounding.
Ivy's plants destroying the Batcave didn't ruin the antidote (but you've probably played far enough ahead to know that) but it did stop the Batcomputer from making anymore antidote.
This was a very pleasant surprise NAT 🙌🙌 killer Crocs lair was so well done & really ramps up the tension , knowing how much you don't like horror you handled it so well great episode 💖🙏🌻🐝
5:15 This was a "threes" decode too. One and two just happened to be on the exact same frequency. Perhaps the game is taking pity on the player knowing full well how much time the Killer Croc section takes.
Yeah the biggest scare was this level. All the game as Batman you struck fear into the criminals hear hunting them from the shadows here you got a taste of that from Croc. You knew he was there its just the waiting until he struck was what scared you.
Oh, a thing I thought you got quite early on, but that you seem to have forgotten : there is no fall damage. Batman will automatically deploy his cape right before hitting the ground, thus breaking the fall. So in vertical spaces like the elevator shaft, you just have to drop down.
Killer Croc's Lair was the level in this game that scared me so badly that I didn't beat this game for 2 whole years, when I was a kid. I got eaten once by him and that was enough lol. I had to have my friends in the room with me- on my birthday just so I could collect all the samples and get the hell out of there! Now that I'm an adult this part of the game is incredibly easy, but I'll never forget how much he terrified me...
I was already an adult when I first played it. And it frightened me too. Actually, I'm still quite tensed whenever I have to replay that part on new runs, even though I know how to handle it now.
You can not die with Batman while gliding when walking off the edge and dropping down Batman automatic glides down. you don't have to press glide everytime. just thought you should know. I hope i said this correctly if not sorry for my bad english
So what you were doing at the start of Croc's lair was double tapping RT / R2 instead of LT / L2. You were using Quickfire Batclaw instead of Quickfire Baterang.
I think the approach that they took with Killer Croc in the game with trying to make him seem more monstrous in order to make the segment where you are in his lair scarier is valid and effective, but I think they leaned a bit too much into it. Sure he is scary in the game but he kind of seems like a generic monster who eats people and sacrifices some of Waylon's more humanizing qualities. I also think that they made his design for the game is too massive and it makes him look like a hulking beast instead of a person suffering from a genetic condition witch is the reason Waylon looks like that.

8:55 That is where they store the sides of beef they feed to Croc.

Love The commentary, even tho ive played this count less of times, its always fun watching somebody elses reaction
42:03 It was supposed to hit the river below, but Killer Croc stopped him from dropping it in so that's why no one got badly hurt.
41:00 last Batgadget. If you want to go for the missing riddler stuff in-game, now is the time.

That thumbnail is so funny 🤣 the disgust on your face

In the stealth, if have a enemy far, use the batclaw for push and finish in the floor.
Good gameplay.

I call this game action that is horror adjacent.

A muscular guy with a skin condition is far, far less intimidating and iconic than current Croc. You dislike Croc, but excuse Bane?
@@NeverOhVer No, I also dislike Asylum's Bane. Arkham Origins Bane is far better.
@@The_Phantasm Guess I just like big, sweaty, muscular men more than you 🤷♂️ To each their own.
@@NeverOhVer Croc and Bane aren't the same at all in terms of threat level outside of _gameplay._
14:17 I really don't like the line Batman says "Croc's just an animal". It really doesn't feel like something Batman would say in the comics.
he called Zsazs an animal too. It's absolutely within his character. you murder, you're an animal.
@@jaysontin1850 Not the reason I said it. It's just the way they write Croc in the game in general.
