Hi Joe - Have to admit, the engine on this M3 sounds MUCH better than on the previous generation. I have been a fan of the M3 since the E36. So having said this, I wish BMW would stop making the M3 bigger and bigger after every new generation. And they are also getting heavier. The one you drove is the same size as the M5 was 25 years ago.
@@olivierdevries01 the m2 feels like a short wheelbase version of a e92 m3. 5 inches shorter length, 2 inches wider, 3 inches shorter wheelbase, same height, backseats are slightly more spacious, maybe about an inch or so in both head and leg room. They weight the same too. But you can remove more things for weight reduction on the m2.

My issue with it is the power of these vehicles is wayyy higher than 25 years ago, so lighter vehicles are gonna have trouble getting that power to the ground. There’s a couple videos online of M2’s breaking loose and crashing. Which can happen on the M3 and M4 too, just less likely

90k for an M3.... that's wild. It feels like just a few years ago, an M3 was 50-60k. Between getting old and inflation everything is just really hard do accept as the new reality 🥲.
I daily drive my 2022 M3 Competition Xdrive, it is truly a luxury beast that can be a gentle pussycat if you want it to be. Drive in comfort mode with efficiency engine settings and turn down the exhaust noise and you can cruise in comfort. Push the M1 or M2 button and turn it into a loud track beast and enjoy the German hotrod technology on the track. I love my Portimao Blue 💙

I'd still take the CT4-Blackwing because track but let's see what a M3 CS can do, might sway my mind (or maybe Cadillac will surprise us with actual performance upgrades for the Track Edition CT5-V BW that debuts tomorrow - but my guess is it will all be appearance stuff.)
This actually competes with the CT4-V Blackwing and not a CT5-V Blackwing. The CT5-V Blackwing is an E-segment vehicles. The M3 and CT4-V Blackwing are D-segment vehicles. Also, Europe, South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand are gonna get the M3 Touring. It’ll only come with xDrive and an 8AT. It has the same power and torque figures as the Competition M3, but 0-62 is in 3.6 seconds and the top speed is 174mph if you remove the limiter.

This is much better than that other M4 convertible video that you did bc the last one you did was red and this one is blue. This or black is good. Anything other than that is forbidden.
I can see it competing against this. 472 horsepower from a twin turbo V6 and the m3 with the straight 6 with 503 horsepower so competition is close for horsepower and would be a better competitor against the m3 competition
This is a competition model so maybe not so much so, the ct4 v black wing competes more with a highly option m340i or maybe a base m3 but the base m3 is still a lot more expensive
The M3 more directly compares to the CT4-V Blackwing in size, powertrain, and cost…which you note in the video, but apparently your video title has the typo (CT5-V BW).
Beautiful car and awesome review as always, Joe! Sad to see a $90k car without 360 degree camera, sunroof, cooled seats, no stitching on the door panel, and a very outdated looking navigation system. The engine sounds amazing though, definitely the main selling point!
Is BMW still doing the fake exhaust noise in the speakers for this new platform? I hated that in my ‘20 M4…windows up it sounded like I was in a race car yet windows down it sounded like a Tesla outside.
Ive noticed the majority of the performance vehicles you review use the the ZF-8 Speed Automatic Transmission. I'm curious how that Transmission feels and responds.
Backup camera display is configurable - just shut off PDC. Need to zonk silver trim around HVAC controls - blinding in direct sun. Ventilated seats are an option (if you forgo the carbon fiber buckets) - who ordered this M3 Competition without? Probably why it got traded in for a Jaguar. Thank Raiti!
Joe curious on the M3 , I heard that the motor S 55 has a crank hub bolt problem coming loose and oil gaskets eventually leaks . I also heard that BMW has stopped production on the M3 and M4 2022's because of the Crank hub chip shortage and no laser lights for now do to chip shortage and wire harness thats made in Ukraine. Is this true?
M3 being a 4 door and the M4 being a 2 door does make sense because the 5 series is 4 doors while the 2 door version was the 6 series. Also the 7 series is 4 doors while the 2 door version is the 8 series.
@@pauldoodnath I meant more so in terms of grouping them. 3/4 series are the small ones of the lineup, 5/6 series are the mid-sized cars, and the 7/8 series are the big boys

To be honest, now that I think about it, neither the 5 nor the 7 series has a couple version since the 8 has both 4 door and 2 door versions. Therefore the 8 series is a standalone.

Great review, but that year, the Xdrive version is actually 0-60 in 2.8 secs and 1/4 time of 11.0. It does come with vented seats.

Sunroof adds weight I prefer persormance cars without one.
It has those but as options, you can switch the the carbon fiber roof for a moon roof and the cooled seat is an upgrade option. No stitching tho

USB a is the rectangular piece that connects into the power brick. In a car you just have to connect that piece in its designated spot
