    the reason these dont look as bad as american ghattos is because Canadian ghettos are only, and i mean ONLY goverment housing

    Torontos housing is messed up for real I swear everywhere I go I see the worst housing project them a couple blocks away or even right across the street I see a condo LOL wtf

    • @NightTerrorGameplays
      @NightTerrorGameplays 10 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      ya, it's called integration, they do it on purpose so the hoods don't become massive like detroit. it is kinda weird. I used to live in a government housing building, and walk across the street to chill with people in the condo, and play pool in a luxury ass room, and then go back to my little shack, at night time. only in toronto

    • @dannydoucette9668
      @dannydoucette9668 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That is done on purpose! It's called mixed income neighbourhoods! Are you suggesting that we just stick the poor away in their own little pocket? Look at the history of regent park for the answer to that question! By mixing incomes in neighbourhoods you are bringing people together instead of separating them!

    • @trophywolfe
      @trophywolfe 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Danny Doucette
      well the other half of that is that the area real estate prices skyrocket like how in bridal path even the smaller homes are ridiculous in price and eventually like Toronto already has the whole city would be way too expensive for people on low income levels.

    • @dannydoucette9668
      @dannydoucette9668 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Subsidized rent and other social programs help with that! I admit the problems are many and the solutions are impractical and only bandaid the real problems! Some people have it all and some people have nothing! Redistribution of wealth is what's needed to do away with these issues!

    • @trophywolfe
      @trophywolfe 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Danny Doucette
      not true people need to stop being lazy and ignorant. people need to realize that if you work hard you will reap the fruits of your labor. to redistribute wealth would mean to take from the rich and give to the poor. the rich are too greedy to give up their money so that others can eat.

    I live in Toronto, I work full time as a carpenter and I have family living in one of the poorest reservations in Northern Ontario. the statistics you have are according to per capita. Toronto has many rich neighborhoods so the overall crime and poverty is reduced because its such a large city but once you enter a ghetto area the stats skyrocket. Toronto does have gangsters, there is alot of shootings stabbings and homicides that happen in these neighborhoods.

    • @orangewedges

      Oh please. There are not "hoods". Have you never been to Philly? You don't want to even stop your car to pick up food in a drive-thru in North Philly if you know what's good for you. I lived there for ten years...fucking nightmare. Also to whoever said Jane and Finch is not a good area...it just happens to have a lot of immigrants but look at the actual neighbourhood...housing is decent, apartment buildings are dated but still standing, there isn't a fuck ton of garbage strewn about or people just idling around. Go to fucking Skid Row in LA before you say you're too scared to go to a "hood" in Toronto.

It is what it is.. canada has a higher standard of living.. even for the poor. .. there's good people in these neighborhoods that keep it looking decent and respectful... but toronto is full of hoods and gangsters.. a lot od wannabes too

    • @dyaniaharding3342
      @dyaniaharding3342 10 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Yes because unlike you our government cares for us and wants canada and it's ppl to have a good life and a good future it doesn't want to think that it's a "ghetto" or a "hood the government wants us to think just because we live here doesn't mean we can't have great lives

    @Itscaj That doesn't mean shit, and it isn't necessarily true either. Don't make any judgements unless you've rolled through any hoods in Toronto. London has a homicide rate of like 1.9% and Toronto has a homicide rate of like 3.3% per 100, 000 people. And if I'm not mistaken, London probably has a higher population than Toronto.. not comparable at all, London is on the other side of the damn world. You'll get clapped out here, buhlee dat. Never judge a book by it's cover.

    • @ca0984
      @ca0984 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @South Central Los Angeles compton was a middle class white area until black ppl started moving in. the black families were also middle class in the beginning but one the whites started seeing more an more blacks they all left and took away funding from all the facilities, leaving the area desperate and most families fell into poverty. Compton used to reject gangs from coming in from south central to the point where bloods were created to keep them out. Since then everything has got a lot worse.

    • @ca0984

    Apparently you used to live in Moss Park, did you live in Moss Park apartments, what was the reason you moved out of that area? Moss park apartments are one of the dirtiest, crack, heroin, meth, cockroach infested, bed bug infested, high rise slum buildings in the entire city, a man was shot point blank in the head on the 7th floor in 2007. Sherbourne and Queen is crack city, schizophrenic and homeless central. apart from the western counterpart Parkdale. I wonder why you moved out of that area?

    Ok good points but the fact is If had a choice to live in a Toronto slum or an Edmonton slum I`d pick Edmonton. There is so much money and opportunities out west that if they choose to live that lifestyle that`s their choice. My buddy went out west to work on an oil rig came back and bought a truck with the money he made out there. Why do you think so many people are flocking out west I can compare Alberta to the Texas of Canada.

    I'm from Australia. Why does Canada have so many boring brick buildings? Many apartment buildings look the same like in Korea or Russia? Even in the "nice" parts. To Australians, Canada is very boring.

    • @TheBnizzle69
      @TheBnizzle69 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Trevor C do u really think thats the only neighbourhoods or buildings in all of a toronto let alone canada those buildings are like project buildings for the poor yet there nicer then alot of places in the states and just look at Windsor next to detroit or any other big canadian city hell just look in a better neighbourhood in Toronto and you find some very exotic looking buildings and condo buildings drake has a condo in the center of Toronto it all glass building looks so nice

    umm quick question did you know America is not a continent or "contanant" as you like to spell it lol...North America is a continent and South America is a continent...United States of America is commonly known as America...therefore yes America is a country
    and no one is dissing Canada or Toronto...i love that city...i try to go at least once a summer...i just want the fake gangsta stuff to stop...btw Toronto is actually listed as one of the safest cities in North America
