@William Kirshbom I'm not wel with the lore regarding 40k, but wasn't that armor considered rare due to an uprising or something. Also, I've never seen that kind of Space Marine Armor have that combination between the (now named) Assault Cannon & the Cyclops Missiles Launcher. How does one do that?
I’ll like to imagine a single guardsman and one clone trooper hiding from this mess like in a wreckage or cover and talking about their experience like, “Hey, do you know the emperor of mankind?” “No but we do have a chancellor” “Cool”
Any interaction with enemies of The Emperor, besides combat, is heresy of the highest degree, punishable by death with seizure of property, family, and internal organs.
“Both asides start taking casualties.” Jedi: “This doesn’t look good, if we don’t think of something fast we’ll either have to pull back or be crushed.” Imperials: “90% casualty rate... Victory.... STRATEGIC VALUE ABSOLUTE!”
@Lord Admiral Spire That is true. Pong Krell, a four armed xeno Jedi was infamous of causing the largest Clone casualties under his command and he saw them as expendable and not sentient beings capable of feelings and thought. Good thing he was turned against and later executed for treason by Captain Rex and his fellow 501st Legion for betraying the Republic and intended to defect towards the Separatists. In fact, Rex and his brothers have willingly pulled Order 66 on Krell albeit unwittingly and without even realizing the grim foreshadowing that the Clones will be compelled by the inhibitor chips on their head to kill their own Jedi generals and commanders whom they bonded and fought side by side.
@Frozen_Eagle There is a pretty good extensive fanfic where a large Imperium fleet ends up on the edge of the Star Wars galaxy during the Clone Wars. The narrative keeps switching between the two sides and it's such a change in tone. The first time clone troopers and Jedi encounter Space Marines is hilarious. th-cam.com/video/y5pm-cddO3c/w-d-xo.html
@Lord Admiral Spire Exactly. Plus there are those bacta tanks the Imperium has seized and safe to use for healing injured Guardsmen and Space Marines. You know about the Bacta Tanks in Star Wars right?

Hell, even Leman Russ has a good chance of withstanding an AT-TE main cannon. But all that comes to the front armour. Sides and back are usually quite thinner. It may look like a WW1 tank, but it truly is an MBT.
@@TheWarmachine375 The thing about Warhammer materials is that they are stupendously reliable. That means if it doesn't penetrate, it never will. Concentrated fire in WH40K is used for overloading shields, and against armour they use big powerful guns.
@@TheWarmachine375 Here's the kind of firepower baneblades can resist for reference. Tau battlesuit railguns from the Tau Codex 4e One of their light walkers carried a weapon of lethal effect. It fired a form of ultra-high velocity projectile. I saw one of our tanks after having been hit by it. There was a small hole punched in either flank - one the projectile's entry point, the other its exit. The tiny munition had passed through the vehicle with such speed that everything within the hull not welded down had been sucked out through the exit hole. Including the crew. We never identified their bodies, for all that remained of them was a red stain upon the ground, extending some twenty metres from the wreck. These bounce right off Baneblades. And artillery hits Baneblades can and cannot survive from Angel of Fire. 'I swear I saw the distant muzzle of that enormous gun flash and something huge blur towards us. A moment later the Baneblade rocked under a massive impact. Somebody somewhere in the cockpit screamed. [...] A few seconds later another shell landed where we had been. It blasted a crater a hundred metres wide in the earth but we were not there to enjoy it.' 'The Shadowswords opened fire. One of the tanks next to us was hit by storm of super-heavy las-fire. Its turrets were crippled immediately. A beam penetrated the side armour. I don’t know what happened next. Possibly there was an internal fire or one of the drive cores overloaded. There was an enormous explosion and the main turret lifted right out of its mounting before tumbling to one side. I have never seen a Baneblade quite so comprehensively destroyed. The fusillade of fire was overpowering even for one of these ancient monstrous tanks.' Volcano cannon of a Shadowsword from Gunheads destroying a bunch of stuff. Note orks nearby the beam turned into ash: 'His attention was diverted, however, by a high-pitched whine that rose from the right. He immediately panned his field glasses towards Vinnemann’s Shadowsword and saw a white glow forming at the muzzle of her huge cannon. Knowing what was to come, he turned his eyes towards the black artillery pieces by the outpost gates. Over-muscled greenskin gunnery crews were hefting shells the size of oil dums into the breech of each huge gun, ready to pulverize the advancing Cadian lines once again. There was an almighty crack, like a clap of thunder, so close that Bergen felt it resonate deep in his bones. Everything in the area outside the outpost’s main gates was engulfed in blinding white light. Bergen thought he saw the shot hit the row of massive greenskin war machines at an angle, cutting across them diagonally, but he could only watch for a fraction of a second. Looking directly at the beam was painful, and he squeezed his eyes shut. A glowing afterimage of the Volcano’s lethal beam remained behind his eyelids. When he opened his eyes again, he saw a good number of the enemy machines ceased to exist. Bubbling pools of liquid metal were the only trace left. Others, though not struck directly, would no longer be firing on his men. Their crews had been roasted to ash. The raw heat of the Volcano’s beam striking the neighbouring guns were simply too intense to survive.' And if you happen to be in the area a Baneblade is firing at...(from Angel of Fire) 'Our own guns opened fire. The shells fell among the enemy. The destruction was enormous in that closely packed formation. Unfortunately, it did not touch the Shadowswords but no Leman Russ could withstand the impact of our main batteries, not when they were fired by gunners as accurate as Ivan and Anton and the others. The poor infantrymen surrounding the tanks had no chance whatsoever - they were simply reduced to bloody jam smeared on the plascrete'. The clones at the feet of the AT-TEs would by right be dead if a shell hits nearby.
The thing that you've got to remember is that these armies exist in entirely different frames of reference. Your poster boy for 40k is the Space Marine. One a hell planet of millions, where every day is a struggle to survive, some people rise above the rest and become legends by the time they're in their teens. A Space Marine starts out as one of these guys, goes through selection that weeds out most. Get's trained to unparelled levels, from physically impossible tasks for normal human, to having entire databases of tactics and weaponary uploaded to their mind. They're physically altered to a state that's honestly absurd. Bullets can't pierce their flesh. The move react faster and move like a blue to other humans. They have a suit of armour basically grafter underneath their flesh, to their bone. They become 7 foot tall killing machines, able to rip metal apart with bare hands, with 2 hearts, 3 lungs, and the ability to spit acid. Then they get their real armour, low grade AI impervious to what we would call heavy arms. These elite special forces, quite literally one in a million of genetic potential, strength and ability, a single one of which in a natural force of destruction unto themselves........ is pretty much outdated now. We're got entire chapters of these guys who are above and beyond at every level of the 'vanilla' ones. Chapters that are comprised of stronger, taller, faster psychic warriors that each can crush you with literally a thought. Every 'normal' one of the guys is being phased out in favour of Space Marines 2.0, even taller, stronger, better, shinier. A very strong Jedi or Sith would be a nuisance on a tactical level, maybe during an engagement they'd hold a building for an extra hour or day. But nothing more. The strongest of all the force users, the true undisputed masters would basically be a very strong villain or hero. They'd whole sway on a maybe a planet, or solar system or two. And if any particular faction, Imperial, Chaos, Ork or otherwise, actually wanted them wiped out..... it would be swift. It's just two power systems that are fun to compare and fight, but the Imperials only lose if you make special considerations like "Space marines only send a small force", "The Imperial Guard sent the troops to the wrong place", or "The Empire of Man forgot about this enemy, will rectify next millenia"
To be fair, there isn't so much of a difference between the infantry. I've always seen a Space Marine Librarian as equal to a Jedi Master/Sith Lord, with Primarchs of course being on that whole other plane of existance. Also, Tanks in Warhammer vs Star Wars are pretty similar, the advantage Warhammer has is the projectile weapons, but in a battle where both sides are using las/lasers then the Star Wars faction has a slight edge, as a standard laser is basically a plasma gun. Turbolaser cannons are basically *long* range Plasma cannons, with Star wars having a good advantage in broadside combat; as Starships in Star Wars are spectacularly strong with documented Turbolaser power being equivalent to multiple megatons in a single blast, which Turbolasers have a *much* higher fire rate than almost every Imperial weapon. Also, Energy Shielding in Star Wars is straight up superior to Warhammer, with again the advantage being projectiles such as torpedoes, which a good commander like Thrawn, Ackbar, Pellaeon, or Yularen being likely to rapidly adapt to use their fighters as projectile screening since Warhammer projectiles are also *slower* than fighters.
@@AlyssMa7rin Oh the tanks are definitely not similar, starwars does not at all hold the advantage there. People have hashed all this to death, including shielding, ranging, Warhammer comes up the winner every time just because of how ridiculous things in 40k are
@@kungfuskull Macro Cannons are nice, and all, but they're grossly inaccurate at longer ranges. Warhammer's boarding torpedoes are an advantage, of course, but Star Wars Capitol ships are faster and more maneuverable than Warhammer capitol ships. A Gloriana Battleship, for example, would lose to the Executor in a head-head battle, but ultimately there are plus sides to *both* universes. Warhammer wins overall, but don't count Star Wars out as irrelevant. Void shields have one *major* weakness. Slower projectiles can pierce the void shield without being warp-shifted. This means proton Torpedoes, and lighter blasters are capable of piercing them. I am interested how the Death Star lasers would fare, like the Sovereign/Eclipse

Ivan Simarmata The IoM’s Navy is pretty advanced, their only flaw is the size and sprawl of the Imperium. There are plenty of great admirals and the ships are very powerful. The Imperium’s Navy is more specialized than the guard and is less of a blunt object even though it is because of how big it is, Republic Navy isn’t versatile and employs a jack of all trades ship the Venator. I think the Republic has a star fighter advantage but not a Ship vs Ship advantage. Prow lances and Macrocannons would shatter SW shields and the venators would get ripped apart by torpedoes and lascannons. Not to mention the space marine “boarding” torpedoes.. Imperial navy also makes use of advanced teleporters and can also teleport boarding parties. Some ships are so massive they can carry millions of crew mates such as Emperor Class Battleships. Also Imperium shielding tech “Void Shields” are highly advanced and the biggest of Imperium ships are layered in these void shields of like 8. These can block all ordinances where as in Star Wars they typically only have 2 layers of shielding. Also Imperium ships are exceptionally great at ramming since voidshields can soak most damage and are designed to do so. The ball is in the Imperium’s court, any good admiral can pick and choose how to engage while Republic is limited on options. Venator Turbolasers are great but as I said not very versatile, and the crew at the bridge of a Imperium ship is surgically infused with the ship which makes them symbiotic and can react instantly to anything they face. Captains and Admirals of the IoM Navy are all pretty much genetically altered cyborgs with enhanced reflexes and stored strategic databanks, their reactions are so great that their cogitators (cybernetic cognitive enhancers) makes their reflexes and decision making so quick that others around them appear to them moving in slow motion.. these means countermeasures can be implemented on the fly.

They also frequently used flamethrowers, because only the best Jedi can block a burst of flames, or use wrist mounted cableguns to trip or bind Jedi and kill them while they are defenseless
Space marine bolters are machine guns that fire small rockets. Jedi could deflect maybe one with force ...but there is where machine gun part would take stage...it is not one round but several. Deflecting with saber would be even worse since deflection would cause round to explode in Jedis face.
The AT-TE walkers actually did pretty well against the medium size tanks of the Imperium. I say the CIS and GAR should work together against the Imperium. Beautiful thing about 40k: They could just send the Imperial Guard and they'd still win. The casualties would probably range in the tens of millions, but for the Imperium, that's a Sunday stroll. 40k universe has this neat thing about it: it's batshit insane when compared to other fandoms. You have some ultimate weapon platform that can one-shot a planet? Imperium has those as practically standard issue on ships. Some ultra-hard armor that can protect from most any damage? Most any damage in *your* universe, sure. 40k has giant bugs that'll rip that armor to shreds in moments. Not to discredit any other fandoms, but in terms of ludicrous strength and power, the Imperium is on a whole other level. Hell, they aren't even the strongest in their own universe yet they've survived eons in the harshness of the galaxy, fighting orcs who worship war, robots who built literal GODS, a race of elf looking beings who literally murder-fucked a god into existence. And then the rouges of that race, who are into some serious dark stuff. Not to mention the Tyranids, who are literal invaders from another galaxy, and consumed the one they came from last. And the one before that. And the Tau, a hyper-advanced race who have weapons capable of piercing the mightiest of armors in one shot. And dont get me started on the Chaos Gods, and their hordes of demons who exist in a literal hellscape that used to contain the souls of the dead. 40k is ludicrous. But that's what makes it fun, no?
I disagree, slightly, tens of millions is still pretty heavy casualties by 40k standards (vraks was "only" about 14 million) and as far as planet killing goes: A. Wipeing out all life is something any star destroyer can do, they call it Base Delta Zero, destroying a planet entirly like the death star is called "2nd stage exterminatus" in 40k B. No, its not standard to carry any type of exterminatus weapons on anything less than a battleship. However, this has more to do with imperial doctrine than physical capabilities AKA we don't want another Istavan III

A single clone desperately crawled towards his remaining forces, his sight darkening by the second. The Astartes in the front powered his blade, turning it an electric blue. The padawan hesitated at the sheer size of the man in the mysterious blue power armour. That was all the time the Astartes needed. He lunged and was only barely parried by the young force user. It's too big at present, the Imperium has the advantage of numbers by a large degree. But that implies the Imperium isn't fighting any other wars, and the Imperium could no more crush the Republic any more than it can its other foes, which is currently is only breaking even against. The Republic has more accessible technology and faster and more reliable transportation. The Imperium is also incapable of innovation and invention as long as the Adpeptus Mechanicus is in charge of their technology. If the Imperium got a hold of the cloning technology used to create Republic Clone Troopers, however, they may be able to mass-produce Space Marines, which would create a radical shift in power in the Imperiums favor against their Enemies, but that assumes the Adeptus Mechanicus doesn't somehow screw things up.
The Republic would put up a better fight than you'd think. First of, most weapons in star wars are plasma based, countering most of the imperium's armor 'stuff'. Second, they would straight up win on the strategic front because like you said, reliable transportation. Can AT-TEs beat a Baneblade?
@@TheWarmachine375 No. Just no. Like, even the larger caliber Battle cannon will have trouble penetrating Baneblade front armour. Hell, even Leman Russ has a good chance of withstanding an AT-TE main cannon. But all that comes to the front armour. Sides and back are usually quite thinner. It may look like a WW1 tank, but it truly is an MBT.
@@utoro5 Even with concentrated forward firepower from all AT-TEs too?
@@TheWarmachine375 The thing about Warhammer materials is that they are stupendously reliable. That means if it doesn't penetrate, it never will. Concentrated fire in WH40K is used for overloading shields, and against armour they use big powerful guns.
@@TheWarmachine375 Here's the kind of firepower baneblades can resist for reference. Tau battlesuit railguns from the Tau Codex 4e
One of their light walkers carried a weapon of lethal effect.
[...]
A few seconds later another shell landed where we had been. It blasted a crater a hundred metres wide in the earth but we were not there to enjoy it.'
'The Shadowswords opened fire.
The fusillade of fire was overpowering even for one of these ancient monstrous tanks.'
Volcano cannon of a Shadowsword from Gunheads destroying a bunch of stuff. Note orks nearby the beam turned into ash:
'His attention was diverted, however, by a high-pitched whine that rose from the right.
The raw heat of the Volcano’s beam striking the neighbouring guns were simply too intense to survive.'
And if you happen to be in the area a Baneblade is firing at...(from Angel of Fire)
'Our own guns opened fire.
The Imperium has a weird concept of "defending" a base.
Defense is something you do until you can attack, after all.

Well... The imperium do share a saying, "The best defense is a good offense."
*imperial fists*
Best defense is a good offense. Republic are like children to them.
People have hashed all this to death, including shielding, ranging, Warhammer comes up the winner every time just because of how ridiculous things in 40k are
@@MrThefoxyone i would say the shields are better till you get to void shields , void shields are just stupidly strong
@@AlyssMa7rin "superior broadside" BAHAHAHAHAHA look up macrocannons and battlefleet gothic. Yeah: no. No no no no 🤣
@@kungfuskull Macro Cannons are nice, and all, but they're grossly inaccurate at longer ranges.

Captains and Admirals of the IoM Navy are all pretty much genetically altered cyborgs with enhanced reflexes and stored strategic databanks, their reactions are so great that their cogitators (cybernetic cognitive enhancers) makes their reflexes and decision making so quick that others around them appear to them moving in slow motion.. these means countermeasures can be implemented on the fly.

so, for those who dont know, the mandalorians were some of the best jedi killers....how they did this was hilarious, they knew jedi would block their blaster bolts....so they shot them with bullets, which were too fast even for jedi....so the space marine would mince meat the jedi from range, in mellee, the jedi are paste!
not to mention, even if they did intercept, depending on what the round was made of, it might just get turned into a super fast glob of molten metal, so, still lethal. Slug thrower is where it's at man.
This is incorrect. Average blaster bolt speeds have been calculated to be around 150 m/s. A standard 5.56mm bullet travels at around 850-1000m/s.

Warhammer 20K: *Laughs in light tank*
"There's no shelter for those who oppose the Imperium of man"
Beautiful thing about 40k: They could just send the Imperial Guard and they'd still win.
I disagree, slightly, tens of millions is still pretty heavy casualties by 40k standards (vraks was "only" about 14 million) and as far as planet killing goes:
A. Wipeing out all life is something any star destroyer can do, they call it Base Delta Zero, destroying a planet entirly like the death star is called "2nd stage exterminatus" in 40k
B. No, its not standard to carry any type of exterminatus weapons on anything less than a battleship. However, this has more to do with imperial doctrine than physical capabilities AKA we don't want another Istavan III
@@themanformerlyknownascomme777 Alright, fair enough. Still though, 40k is definitely overpowered. And as for star destroyers wiping out planets, isnt that only from the newest movie, or is it something from legends?
There is one thing about 40K that will always go in favor of any other fandom, and that is the bureaucracy of the Adeptus Administratum. If anything can kill 40K's chance at winning it's them. Of course, once forces are deployed...well that's different.

@@LordProteus What about the Bacta Tanks? They are invaluable of healing wounded Guardsmen and Space Marines back on their feet.
The Republic would put up a better fight than you'd think. First of, most weapons in star wars are plasma based, countering most of the imperium's armor 'stuff'. Second, they would straight up win on the strategic front because like you said, reliable transportation. You might think the republic army was small, but remember they were still big enough to fight a galaxy wide war, aided by their ability to create new troops.
