Can't wait. I'm slapping a tarp and some food on my T7 this afternoon to go across Canada. I just got word that my dad passed away yesterday, so I have 4 days to go 4500km to say goodbye to the old fella. All pavement, boring as hell but not the first time I've done it. Hotels and airplanes not an option this time so... soldier on. 👍
I'd love to see a ride with Adam, Rodney, Chris Birch and Lyndon Poskitt railing across Australia. Great riders, top shelf mechanics, humble but assertive outlook. And amazing ambassadors of the sport.
I am not an adventure bike fella but I have an MT07 with a full titanium Akra system on mine, and anyone who hasn't heard the CP2 in person should know that you'll never get the full sound experience like you would in person These engine bark so hard 👌
I just find it amazing how you can carelessly ride without crashbars and luggage racks to protect the exhaust, personally i just can’t afford to lay ‘er down but i’d love to have less weight on her. Must be the perks of years of experience in the saddle and sponsors. Hope one day i’ll be half as good as you are. I missed the whole summer because of a shattered collar bone, random guy didn’t give me right of way. I’m sad about my first bike, she’s a bit crooked now, but still going (cause of the crashbars and racks) But thanks to insurance i’m close to buying my dream bike. Can’t wait to rewatch all your T7 videos when that happens. Hands down the best adventure channel on TH-cam and the reason why i picked up motorcycling in the first place!
Thanks, Adam! I’m happy that you’ve been sprinkling in some of your life’s philosophy about adventure and why we do these things. I love the outdoors and appreciate all of God’s gifts; the mountains, earth, animals…and riding motorcycles gives me the ability to enjoy more of those things than I ever could do on foot. Adventure, and sucking the marrow out of life is what it’s all about! ✌️🙏
Seems to me the T7, with you’re mods is with out doubt the best ADV. It’s obvious you like it and I think you’re the best to know. Yamaha should be employing you.
I hope that my T7 appreciates the relaxed and easy life it has ! It is constantly fed on the best sustenance, the best lubricants, the best shoes, but I also wish I could work it like you do Adam. Great video, again, and looking forward to the trip video.
You got me into this bike. I now own a 24 T7. Can't thank you enough for all the tips in the other videos. It has helped me grow confidence! Getting ready for my first long-distance moto trip at the end of August. So stoked! Its hot as hell here in Arizona and I don't care I still ride every day.. 600 miles in 6 days.. long commute LOL. Anyways you're a badass dude and I love your content!

I envy you, colleague! Here in Hungary, we push it very poorly. I am an agricultural machine mechanic and agricultural horticultural engineer, I work on tractors and parks at the university here. I just rode my Aprilia Tuareg 11,000 kms from Texas to Ontario then across Eastern Canada and back home. Prep was new tires, oil and filter change. It worked perfectly.
Adam, Love your take on what an adventure bike should be. Definitely not everyone's idea and I'm sure some just hate you for being so frank, especially about luggage 😂 My 890r has been slowly stripped back over the past two years, sat at 174kg on the scales last week (all fluids no fuel) Luggage is low and forwards and I've got that down to 13kg. 187kg with luggage ready for fuel, 9kg under the dry weight of a stocker 😎 super light with proper tyres on and heavily modded suspension, going back to ride a stocker they feel like one of the big Rihno 1250's 😮 Its "my" 890 now, no need for the lastest offerings from the factory just to have to do it all again. @@MotologyFilmsyour early vids on the 500 almost had me back into a big single after some time away from dirt bikes, awesome stuff mate. I raced 125 from 15 into my 20's, MX/enduro - love em, pinned, heavy clutch work and keep em signing. Cant beat hunting down a big bike when you have superior corner speed 😎. I'd take one of the new 150's and happily throw some bags on and go off on that. Later I went with the newage and the first thumper YZ's with the Genesis heads, for the day they were super smooth (not like the big Husky and the Rotax lumps). It took some time, but big parallel twin motor has really grown on me and at the current weight personally for me it's ended up a balance between a super light 500. No getting away from the fact the motors are wide, but it is what it is. Depending on what gearing I stick on it, it has the legs to be stupid quick on the black stuff or drop it - (2 down, 3 up) and ride it like a five speed with a crawler first gear. With that gearing it truly does feel.like big enduro bike, but maxes out short of a Ton on the black stuff
Another great trip coming up... Just got done 8h ride today troughout French TET with my warehouse. I'm thinking to modify the fork and the shock. Make it even more perfect! Cheers from France 🇫🇷

Well, yamaha engineers giving this bike stronger chain did it not without reason. From the technical book: "Bikes with bigger squat experience Increased Load on the Chain: As the rear suspension compresses during acceleration, more force is transmitted through the chain to the rear wheel. This increased load can place more stress on the chain, particularly if the bike has high torque or is ridden aggressively. Torque Transfer: Bikes that squat more tend to transfer a significant amount of torque through the chain, especially during hard acceleration. A stronger chain is better equipped to handle these forces without stretching, snapping, or wearing out prematurely. Chain Wear and Tear: With more squat, the chain may experience additional wear due to the constant changes in tension as the suspension compresses and rebounds. A stronger, higher-quality chain can better resist this wear, maintaining performance and safety. Chain Length Variations: Squatting can cause slight variations in chain length as the distance between the front and rear sprockets changes during suspension movement. A stronger chain with better elasticity and tensile strength can accommodate these variations more effectively without compromising its integrity." To sum up, yamaha exactly knew why they put stronger chain on T7. I'm not going to change it, especially the weigh is down low.
All good points but 520 and 525 have the same pitch and pin size generally so strength isn't an issue. A 525 with it wider roller should experience less wear over time on both chain and sprockets. The 520 conversion is for performance not longevity. I wouldn't expect to get 20k out of it like a 525.
You have seen the strength of the 520 chains ? They are as strong as any other.... I've done 630 to 520 and 530 to 520 conversions and the 520's i'm using are way stronger than the chains I replaced, and on bikes with way more HP.........
The other issue is unsprung weight. I use mitas tyres and when I first put them on my WR I really noticed the extra unsprung weight. You take pounds off and you put them on. It's all about balance and performance. Many wouldn't notice or be bothered and that's fine. Some people like to get things how they like it.
Agree 100%, just a waste of money and potentially reliability, just leave the chain and sprockets stock. I Virtually never have to adjust the chain on my T7 over 15k kms so far.
I don’t know how Honda has skipped on giving you a small tank crf1100 to transform it to an off-road beast, and lets you roll on a T7, even after all the warhorse saga, would be epic 🤷🏻♂️
This is mint would love to do a similar build, not many places to ride motocross anymore and hard to get out so may aswell make the move to an adventure bike

Be safe, and have fun… 👍

Haha .. thanks for watching
Looks you are preparing it for a rally rather to a long trip 😀
Back home on the T7! Love your vids man! 😎 making the skid plates for sale would be awesome!
amazing
Well, yamaha engineers giving this bike stronger chain did it not without reason. From the technical book: "Bikes with bigger squat experience Increased Load on the Chain:
As the rear suspension compresses during acceleration, more force is transmitted through the chain to the rear wheel.
A standard bike is not your bike!! …… But Don’t change things you dont understand 🇸🇪🤠
I don’t know how Honda has skipped on giving you a small tank crf1100 to transform it to an off-road beast, and lets you roll on a T7, even after all the warhorse saga, would be epic 🤷🏻♂️
Yes 🥳 cant wait to see some more tenere action
This one looks to be Epic, Safe Journey
This is mint would love to do a similar build, not many places to ride motocross anymore and hard to get out so may aswell make the move to an adventure bike
